Chapter 6 - Conversations 2

"You should stay until it's bright outside"

I hear Dario say as he poured the remaining contents of brandy into his glass.

I watched closely as he downed the whole glass and moved to help me stand.

"I'll sleep on the couch, you can take my bed"

Dario gestured towards the room with his other free hand as he carefully helped me to my feet.

"No it'd be better if I slept on the couch, it's your house anyway".

I turned to say to him declining his offer with a forced smile.

"No, you're a guest here plus you're injured because of me I think having you sleep in a comfortable place would ease my guilt a bit"...

Dario replied unwilling to comply with my request.

And I said nothing and just allowed him take me back to his room.

The alarm on my phone went off at 7 in the morning and I painfully moved to turn it off rubbing the sleep from my eyes as I unraveled myself from the comfort of Dario's king sized bed. Carefully standing as I placed my hand on his bedside table for support.

Grabbing my jacket, I carefully opened the door and headed out towards the living room quietly walking past the couch Dario slept on and making my way to the door.

Picking my shoes off of Dario's floor as I unlocked his front door and silently stepped out of his apartment and took the stairs that led to the front door of his apartment building.

Pushing the heavy glass doors open I inhaled deeply as the cold morning breeze blew across my face and placed soft kisses on the part of my skin that wasn't completely covered by what I had on.

I crossed to the other side of the street and managed to stop a taxi. Taking one last glance at Dario's apartment building, I got into the taxi, gave the driver my address and brought out my phone to call my roommate as the taxi sped off into the busy street.

DARIO'S POV:

I woke to see my front door slightly open and thought maybe my Personal Assistant had dropped by and forgot to properly lock the door. Having Conner stop by wasn't anything new so I wasn't exactly bothered or alarmed.

I got up, gathered the blanket and pillow I had brought with me to sleep on the couch and turned to return them back to the room, slowly opening the door to my room careful not to wake Diane up.

But when I fully opened the door, I was greeted by an empty bed and a note on my bedside table that read:

"Had to leave early for work, thank you for letting me sleep here, bye".

I was dumbfounded.

Why on earth would she leave without a proper goodbye?.

I dropped the note back on the table, walked to the bathroom to run myself a warm bath so I could go to my studio and atleast work to get my mind off Diane and everything that came with her. She had managed to ignite in me a whole lot of emotions I was yet to place but I knew having her around was dangerous.. having her on my mind was bad enough. She was supposed to be another one night stand but even that, I couldn't go through with I mean she happily gave her self to me but I held back for reasons that weren't clear yet.

I had the idea of overworking myself so I could finally get her off my mind and that was exactly what I did, I threw myself into my work for the next couple of weeks and it worked briefly that was until I had to go back home, and lie down on the same bed we'd both been on. Where her naked body aroused me easily and where I left her hanging to avoid Whatever thing I'd been feeling for Diane that night .
