CHAPTER 46 – Awake
By the time Scarlet woke up from whatever sleep her mother had sent her to, it was already mid-afternoon as the bright sun shimmered through the curtains.
A gentle yawn escaped her mouth while stretching out to help her body as she used the back of her left hand to rub her eye.
"Hmm," Scarlet breathed out the second the back of her palm touched her cheek.
Immediately, images of what transpired that led to her getting slapped flashed in her subconscious.
She cringed from the thoughts. It almost felt as though her mother was doing it again.
After some seconds though, Scarlet relaxed her muscles and exhaled sharply.
"I scaled through."
A proud smile formed on her lips as she recalled how she had treated Jasper. Left to her, this only made it easier for the prince to cancel the engagement.
Compared to the slap she received this was a better reward.
