Ramiel was overseeing the creation of his battleship and Wutai was still going strong against the army of golems he created. They had even less casualties even, due to Alexandra controlling the things so their soldiers won't die.
"Slowly, slowly! That's right!" The engineers and mechanics were lowering down the modular reactors to the hull of the ship. "Ramiel-nii, why won't you just do it yourself? Won't it be faster if you just do it with telekinesis or something?" Alexandra was eating some blue ice cream with Ramiel and asked him the clearly obvious option.
"Good question my dear sister, the answer is simple. I'm too damned tired to do so, I have been creating and shaping the parts of the ship for months now. I'll die of exhaustion you see?" Ramiel nodded sagely, thinking that if somebody else can do it, make them do it themselves.
"You lose if you work Alexandra. Unfortunately for your big brother, he has to do a lot of work." Ramiel sighed and thought about all the crap he has to do once again. Especially when they annex Wutai later because everything is already prepared.
Alex deadpanned at him and thought he was just being lazy. "I bet you just don't want to." Alex rolled her eyes and Ramiel squinted his eyes at her. "That's because you refuse to help me! You can do something besides lead the automated army you know?" Ramiel huffed and Alexandra snorted.
"That's your project, besides. You always say that I'm wrong on the proportions or something, you meanie." Alex pouted at him and Ramiel gave a wry smile at her rebuttal. "Ahhh, that's because we can't use it if the dimensions of the parts are wrong you know?"
Alex tried helping him with the parts of the ship, but because of the properties of the metals they were using. It was a herculean task for even Alexandra, even though it was already refined and pure. "What the hell are you even planning on fighting with that thing? It's a goddamned fortress already, I can't imagine doing much damage to it if deploys all its armaments and defenses."
She stared at the makeshift hangar where all the other parts were, and inside were mithril armaments that are truly absurd. Ramiel called it Nouliths, levitating automated interception weapons that could cast spells on their own. The mechanics and engineers call them sage's arms.
There were also bigger ones that are called fragarchs. They were the operation systems of the Nouliths, they are the main defense system that have massive energy reserves. Able to converge around the ship like orbiting shields that could defend against the most destructive of attacks and spells.
Ramiel found out that mithril can conduct not only magical energy, it was very efficient at storing and transferring energy as well. So he was able to increase the size of the ship massively and the energy that the nuclear reactors were outputting didn't go to waste for even a single bit.
Alexandra could already imagine the chaotic power of the battleship; it would be a flying fortress that can rain lasers at every angle and is virtually indestructible even without the Nouliths and fragarchs. "Seriously, what are you planning to fight with that thing? It's honestly terrifying how dangerous that ship is. And the main batteries aren't even installed yet."
Ramiel gave a smirk and raised his hands in the air. "Simple, anything and everything you could think of. It will be the flagship of many more to come! There is no such thing as too much with military power Alex." Ramiel nodded, self-satisfied with his principles.
"Hah, I hate that you're right. It's certainly something that can be used to deter anything. Wait… Did you say that you're creating more of it?" Alexandra furrowed her brows and Ramiel snorted. "Of course! What is a battleship with its friends? Destroyers, cruisers, carriers! It is a must, though I need to mine more precious metals though…"
She was about to chide him with his hobby that was getting out of hand, but before she could. A ship from the horizon was coming to the island. "Huh? I didn't request for any more troops or products though? Maybe Lazard gave some more metal to work with? He shouldn't have." Ramiel smiled and Alex glared at him.
"We're not done here, we gotta talk about your obsession with making obscenely powerful weapons." Alex squinted her eyes at him and jumped to the skies, she checked the ship and it was more like a boat in size now that she looked at it more clearly.
"What's that boat doing here anyways? It's too small to drop troops to Wutai." Alexandra got curious, she returned to the shores and just waited there with Ramiel. "So? See anything interesting on it or something?" He was curious as well and was quite excited for something new.
"I don't know, maybe it's someone from the higher ups? Won't that be a good opportunity to brainwash them to oblivion and use them as a spy in Shinra? Lazard is pretty up there, but of course he can't learn everything in Shinra." Alex thought it would be a nice chance to plant someone in Shinra.
"Oh, wait a minute. Speaking of the devil, he's giving me a call. What's up?" Ramiel answered his phone. "Hello, I've got a nice surprise for you. Based on my calculations, it will be at Wutai pretty soon?" Lazard chuckled and imagined what they will do.
"Hmmm, so it's from you huh? What's inside anyways?" Alex butted in to the call and was quite suspicious of Lazard's apparent good mood. "You guys are 1st class SOLDIERs see? Shinra has deemed you to be the best of the best. And where else can the next generation learn from? The best of course." Lazard laughed and Alexandra went wide eyed.
"Lazard… You don't mean?" She squinted her eyes and sighed heavily at what he was hinting at. "Ohh, so our new chore boys are here?" Ramiel was excited though, as he could just give them some training and sic them on Wutai's troops for 'experience.'
The boat finally arrived and two young people went out of it. "Yeah, they're currently 3rd class right now. But their strength is closer to 2nd class, have fun teaching them well okay?" Lazard cut the call and Alex gave a deep frown when she saw the two boys.
"Greetings, 1st class SOLDIERs. 3rd class Genesis Rhapsodos reporting for duty. I will definitely learn everything I can from you and surpass the masters as your student." Genesis introduced himself a bit haughtily as he couldn't help it. Being a spoiled brat due to his rich parents.
"Hello, please take care of me. I am Angeal Hewley." Angeal gave a curt introduction and Ramiel nodded at them. "Sup kiddies, I am the supreme commander of this war. Ramiel, this is my second in command. Alexandra, I hope you can bring honor to your SOLDIER title." He smirked at them and they saluted.
