Chapter 77 - Should've Locked Her In

Michelle was on her way to Ford's villa while Alec had already locked himself into his room in Alwils villa.

They both were thinking about the previous seven months they spent together.

The moment Alec stepped inside the room, his last encounter with El in the room replayed in his mind.

"I should have locked her in."

Surprisingly he seemed calm from outside but a violent storm raged within him.

"Alec, open the door." He heard Ricky's voice.

He blankly moved to the door and opened it.

Ricky was saddened to see his sorry state and also slightly surprised to see that he wasn't raging out of anger.

"How are you doing?" He asked even though the immense pain Alec felt was evident in his eyes.

"I'm fine, I want to be alone." He coldly replied and shut the door on his face.

Alec laid on his bed out of exhaustion and subconsciously turned to his side to find El.

"Why did you leave El?" He talked to himself as he stroked her side of the bed.

He remembered the time he talked with her as Michelle. The phone calls, their interaction through her door, her reluctance to meet or reveal anything about her personal life.

He recalled the incident when he found El sleeping in Michelle's room in Ford's villa.

Also the time when he was angry and was being rough on her on bed, he had sternly asked about the mark on her legs as he pressed it hard.

"I don't remember, I don't remember." She cried as she struggled beneath him.

He now realised she was telling the truth. Yet he completely didn't believe that she had lost her memory.

Everything around him felt like a huge lie.

He closed his eyes as all his memories with El flashed in front of him. He vividly recollected the memory of El with his grandmother, Emilia had recognised her despite her Alzheimers and she addressed her as grandma Emmy.

'how oblivious was I?' He tried hard to not think of her and her lies. Eventually he fell asleep.

The next day, Alec woke up to the sound of his phone ringing. He picked his phone and saw El's name.

The pain of her betrayal welled up in his heart the moment he read her name. He cancelled the call.

She called him again and he cancelled again and blacklisted her number.

He dragged himself out of bed and tried hard to follow through his routine. His phone continuously beeped with posts and tweets about El Wilson being Michelle Ford. Getting out of his room, he gave his phone to Ben.

"Take the calls and pass me the message 'only' if it is important and I don't want to see or hear anything about " 'El' " he paused for a second when he uttered her name. " I mean Michelle." He said and strode coldly. Alec tried to follow through his usual routine despite the throbbing pain in his heart.

Meanwhile, At Ford's Villa, Michelle tried to call Alec again but the call didn't go through.

She called Ricky instead.

"Ricky, Alec.." she hurriedly asked.

"He is fine but we need to give him some time. He'll come around. '' Ricky assured her.

"I'll talk to him once I can."

"You take care." He said and hung up.

Daniel had hired high-end security for Michelle's protection and she was asked to remain in Ford's Villa and leave only when she was accompanied by four guards.

The locked in atmosphere suffocated her.

Although she cherished reuniting with her family she terribly missed Alec.

So much that she called and texted him all day but Alec didn't reply. Like Alec's phone even Michelle's phone beeped with notifications of posts and tweets about her,

"Not an estranged lover but estranged daughter."

Number of people slammed the media for creating vile rumours against Daniel and Michelle while the others talked about her tensed relationship with Alec and also Dwane.

Michelle ignored all the speculations and theories that they were making, she was still yet to cope up with the fact that her identity was actually revealed for everyone to know.

All of South-Hills and Barnesville including their neighbouring cities knew about Michelle.

Although it seemed for Michelle and Alec that the day would never end, it did.

It was a brand new day but both of them were still drowning in their own misery.

She called Ricky again as usual. She was anxious and restless as she said her words,

"Relax Mish, I'll talk to him today." Ricky assured her.

Meanwhile in Alwils Villa,

It was early morning and Alec hadn't left for work yet, he sat on the sofa having his coffee,

"Al.." Alec heard Carolyn's voice. She entered and sat beside him.

"Good morning mother." He greeted her, his expression was still blank and unreadable.

"Where is Michelle?" Carolyn was eager to meet her.

"Why would she be here?" Alec plainly replied.

"She is your wife."

Alec smirked at her words. "El is my wife not her."

"Why isn't she here? This is her home. I'll bring her back." Carolyn's behaviour towards El had indeed taken an 180 degree turn.

She was about to get up from her seat when Alec said,

"Do you even understand what you are upto?"

"What do you mean? she is my daughter in law"

"Now you accept her as your daughter-in-law? When you know that she is Michelle Ford." He chastised here.

"You won't be going there. Let me remind you that you slapped her and insulted her mother in front of her own father"

"Do you think Daniel Ford would let that slide?" Carolyn suddenly regretted her decision.

"Please leave mother. I want to be alone." He said and walked towards the study.

At Ford's Villa,

Daniel saw Michelle heading out, "Where are you going?"

"To Alwils Villa." She casually replied but was well aware that Daniel wouldn't allow her.

"I'll send you there if Alec Wilson comes here and speaks to me first."

"Go to your room." His voice was authoritative.

"But dad.." Michelle tried arguing.

"Have you read those business books I gave you?"

"Yeah, I've started to." She obediently replied.

"Focus on them, you'll be handling the new business soon." Daniel made her to go back to her room.

He was stren when it came to protecting and educating his children. Michelle had no choice but to obey her father, she quietly headed back to her room.
