We just sit down and read and we aren't even allowed to leave the classroom.The quiet was something I enjoyed,I could hear the birds chirping and the revving engines from the road
And with those two sounds combined,a powerful lullaby was composed one which took me out in seconds
"maximus, maximus".I heard someone calling my name repeatedly
"yes".I answered groggily
"Time to go home".He said,I wad still tired I didn't even see the guy face.Dad made me study all night because he thought there would be a quiz waiting for me as soon as I stepped in
"paranoid old man".I muttered as I packed my bag and headed to where I thought was the gate
After five minutes of walking in circles,I found the gate.I glanced at my watch and I was two minutes early thank goodness.If I were just ten seconds late I wouldn't hear the end of it
Leyla's pov
"Our first order of business is maximus".Our secretary brii announced
"Maximus, maximus".I twirled my hair around my fingers as I chanted his name
"what do you think of him Leyla?". another one asked
"I don't know".I sigh.This is weird,I still can't read him yet
"you don't know".Brii repeated
"yes,it's like he is surrounded by multiple motives and plans".I explain to them
"motives like what ?".she said, running her hand through her hair
"I don't know".I sigh down hearted.This has never happened before.Brii took a long hard look at me before starting
"I think that should be enough for today".she started
"hey what are you doing?".
"meeting adjourned".she ignored me and continued.But the rest all looked at her and me back and forth waiting for someone to say something.
"didn't y'all hear me.I said leave".she lashed out and they all scattered like bees
"what the hell was that Brii".I challenge
"you Leyla".she sat down next to me
"what do you mean me?".I ask
"You need rest,I've been observing you lately and I can tell that you've not been sleeping".she craned her head
"How do you know?". surprise evident in my tone
"I Know you Leyla".she placed her hand in mine
"Thank you".I said,my voice breaking.what did I do to deserve such a loving,caring, accommodating and smart best friend.
"it's all good".she said,patting my back
"now come on let's go home".she placed her hand on my shoulder as we walked home

"Bye Leyla".Brii waved as she headed off to her own house.i took a deep breath before taking the spare key under the rusted watering can in the garden.I push the door slowly, expecting to see the house in shambles but surprisingly I did not.I head to my room to get changed and on my bedside drawer I see a letter.It read
"Hey hon,we don't want to bother you anymore with our fights so we are going to a therapist to see how this could work.
