Andrew stumbled down the side of the mountain towards the lake located down below. Looking around his surroundings with analytical eyes. His mind continually searched for answers to what the large shadow was, glancing back to look at the barrier. But he saw nothing but the remaining fog.
The fog pressed itself against the barrier as it slowly retreated back into the clear nothing as the fog slowly faded into nothing and all that was left was the open field of baron. Andrew shook his head at his absurd imagination.
Andrew watched the ground in front oh him level out as the decent was a lot quicker than the ascent. The dead pine needles crunching under his feet by the sheer amount of them piled up.
The pine forest on this side of the mountain was a lot less dense than the one by the village as he was able to see the moonlight creeping in between the trees as it illuminated the field around him. Many beautiful flowers were thriving in their own abode as Andrew slumped his shoulders to avoid branches.
Walking forward he tried to navigate himself to the lake as it was a very safe bet to walk around safely and get a good grip on his exact location. Using it as a waypoint in this vast wilderness would be fairly safe.
He moved a couple of branches aside from his view only to suck in a deep breath
In front of him was a giant wolf whose fur was covered in light neon blue patterns that reflected the moonlight with ease as it illuminated the presence of the beast. The grass around it shriveled in agony as it seemed to be covered in immediate frost.
The large wolf was about twice the size of a normal wild wolf, almost as tall as andrew on all fours, it's large head looked around viciously as he seemed to smell something.
Andrew quickly grabbed both of his axes without worrying about being quiet, he was sure that it was only a matter of time before he was found. Might as well get prepared for a fight now than get jumped later.
The wolf turned towards him with a glare, it's vibrate blue eyes pierced Andrews chest as it breathed out vapor.
The ground around the wolf caved in as it lunged forward towards the unknown intruder. Andrew watched as the wolf charged towards him at speeds unknown to him yet. Even the boss guy from before was a lot slower compared to this. Andrew raised both of his axes in defense as the blur slammed into him. It's teeth connected with one of Andrew's axes as it tried to bite down but it was futile. Even a wolf of this size still couldn't bite through the metallic material of the system's axes.
Andrew used his free axe to try and land a blow but the wolf quickly retreated in haste as he swung downwards. The wolf looked at him eagerly but now with a little more caution
*bling*
An unknown sound resounded through Andrews head
——————
basic ice wolf challenges you too a death duel
Winner takes: Everything
Accept? Decline?
Note: Declining and continuing to fight will hinder both fighters growth for a week
——————-
Andrew read the message in front of him with confusion.
'What the hell? I thought only my classmates could issue duels, what is this?' Andrew panicked inwardly as he was basically forced into a duel, he could decline but he didnt know if there was another evolved beast in this world. But regrettably he had to take the fight not on his terms.
[you can change certain parts of the duel remember? But I won't recommend it as this is pretty enticing for you.]
'What do you mean? It's too the fucking death! I know that previously I fought to the death but I could always leave! I can't now, besides, the other bosses didn't challenge me. So why can this beast?' Andrew rambled in his head.
[simple, because this wolf has free will. The others had no choice but to fight as that is what they are made for, here, the wolf has no need to fight you as there are certainly more than one elemental beast here in this world]
Andrew nodded at this explanation and decided to not change anything anyway, he agreed that the reward turnout would be extremely beneficial to him in the long run. Besides, he needed the challenge of a harder opponent.
He nodded as he clicked the accept button
[Duel commencing….]
A message displayed in the top of his view and eventually became transparent as Andrew looked at the wolf who snarled loudly and charged at him immediately. Andrew swiftly tried to dodge but was caught off guard as the ground beneath him was slippery. He stumbled around to see that the ground beneath him was now ice.
"Cheeky bastard" Andrew smiled as he ignored his balance as the wolf neared in.
Completely forgetting his balance Andrew pulled both axes upwards towards the wolf who was not expecting that either as one struck its shoulder as it tried to lunge at Andrew's throat.
In doing so Andrew's balance was lurched backwards as he collided with the ground with a loud thump. He had no time to rest as he watched the wolf regain its focus and dive again towards him.
Andrew raised his back into a sitting position and dove forward into a roll. The large ice wolf behind him slip on it's own ice and slammed into a tree with minimal damage as it already started towards him once more. Andrew hurriedly pushed himself up to his feet and prepared himself.
'item transport'
Andrew activated item transport on his axes, but instead of throwing the axes he held on and allowed his spell to move them at inhuman speed, speeds fast enough that even the wolf couldn't even tell what was going on in front of him.
Andrew felt multiple instances of resistance as he stepped forward towards the wolf who yelped loudly at the contact of his axe. Blood poured out of a large gash that formed in the middle of the wolf's chest who backed away in a hurry.
But Andrew wasn't having it, Using [item transport] once again on his own shows to propel him forward swiftly landing in front of the wolf once more and tried to finish it off with another strike to its shoulder.
The axe landed with a loud crash as sharps of ice flew everywhere and Andrew had to turn his face away in response. Small cuts formed on his cheek as he retreated from the ice bob created by the wolf.
He was cut off sharply as the wolf slammed ice chunks aside as it ran forward towards him. It's eyes were filled with a cold fire of rage, but caution fueled its flame as it stayed a distance away from.
Andrew watched it with caution as he prepared to attack. His hands loosened their grip on the axes as he prepared to throw them towards his assailant. That plan soon went up into flames as The wolf let out a small snarl and multiple small circles formed around the wolf. Creating multiple small ice chunks as the circles disappeared, leaving them levitating.
"That's cheating! I don't have any ranged attacks like that!" Andrew exclaimed angrily, he was really jealous of the wolf for having such a basic yet powerful skill. The only flaw in Andrews combat style was the fact that he needed to get in and close in order to do any decent amount of damage.
The wolf snarled in a mocking tone as it nodded slightly causing the ice bullets to fly forwards at Andrew with speeds fast enough to cause wind swirls to become visible around them as they neared Andrew.
Andrew lifted his axes to deflect the ice bullets, which luckily didn't change their direction as they collided with Andrew's axes, shattering in the process of pushing him back multiple meters.
The wolf stamped it's foot in annoyance as it snarled once more creating a couple more.
'Alright, if that's how you want to play,' Andrew said to the wolf as he brought his axes down from his face.
Andrew pushed his feet down and pushed forward towards the ice wolf who glared at him angrily as he nodded sharply once more.
'item transport'
Andrew activated the item transport skill on the small ice fragments in the sky.

item transport can not be used on magic generated objects as they are not items.]

"ItEm TrAnsPort CanT Be UseD oN mAgic GenEraTed OBjeCts, TCH" Andrew mocked the message with a click of his tongue in disdain as he sliced the oncoming ice bullets with sweat started to fall down his forehead.
The wolf glared at him with anger as he launched right back at him in response, opening it's mouth to chomp down on Andrew's neck.
"UP YOUR ASS IT IS THEN"
