*ring* a bell went off as the familiar Gladius opened the door, alerting those inside to his presence. "Ah C-6-367, you're back! Word of your success in the town of Malgard made it back long ago. I had thought you'd be back sooner."
The man behind the counter had a smile on his face as looked at C-6-367, C-6-367 simply looked at the face of the man he was all to familiar with. "The horse I was travelling with got injured on the way, I was forced to make the rest of the journey on foot". C-6-367 responded in calm tone, "well sorry about that, it is never easy to loose a companion... but on the bright side with the money from your commission you can buy a new one. No need to worry as well, my horses as the best straight from region 14"
"I'll take one, are there any new requests?" C-6-367 questioned, "Ah and that right there is why you are my favorite Gladius" the man leaned forward resting his elbows on the counter, "you're in luck, there is one, and don't worry it's not a boring one like the last one. Although you'll be having a partner for this one".
"I don't need a partner"
"Well it's too bad you're gonna get one" the man spoke in a playful tone before leaving the counter and heading towards the upper floor whilst motioning to C-6-367 to follow after him. The two arrived at a restroom where another Gladius sat, C-6-367 taking a quick glance at his comrade's armor was able to determine she was female.
The female Gladius made herself at home with both her legs resting upon a table made of ebony wood, resting at the side of the table was a massive black gun that inspired dread in all those who laid eyes on it. The owner of said weapon though was whistling a sunny tune whilst flipping through a news paper.
"Hm, you're back Tom and you must be my partner", the Gladius turned her attention to C-6-367, "C-6-367 meet C-7-401, C-7-401 meet C-6-367 you two will be working together for this one" Tom introduced the two Gladius in his ever cheerful tone.
C-7-401 made it to her feet and gave C-6-367 a nod which C-6-367 reciprocated, "good now that both of you are acquainted lets get straight to business. There have been a number of miners disappearing in Kithrombe, considering the situation with the insurgents and the fact that Kithrombe has one of the only two mines that produce Deuterium in the region you can understand why this is very important."
"The Client has requested that you deal with the situation as swiftly as possible so you two will be taking the train to Kithrombe, no need to worry the path to the town is clear of insurgents so you should be able to get there by tomorrow morning... Oh I almost forgot we believe the source of the disappearance may be monsters so do take caution".
"Understood" the two Gladius responded before turning to leave with C-7-401 grabbing her weapon and placing it on her back.
After making his way down the stairs C-6-376 came to a halt and turned back to look at Tom. "I want my horse when I return".
*ring* the bell rang once more as the two stepped out of the building into the busy streets of the city. As the people laid eyes on the two Gladius who had made their appearance they made way allowing for the two to pass with no interruptions.
The two made their way through the winding streets of the city paying no attention to the crowd as the made their journey. The two soon laid eyes on their destination, a massive building built using fine stone with a clock tower that had a giant bronze bell above it.
The station was as busy as always with the sounds of people going to and fro. The two were a point of focus as they made their way to the massive steel craft with steam all around itself, a product straight from the star folk.
*squeal* the sound of the train whistle sounded once more to call for all boarding. The two Gladius made their way to the conductor who stood before the trains entrance "all aboard!". He continued to call out turning mute however when the two steeled warriors appeared before himself.
"We'd like to board the train" C-6-367 spoke causing the conductor to stutter fumbling to find his words; "t...t...t -tickets?" after struggling for a minute the conductor finally managed to ask.
"We don't have one, is that a problem?" "No! I mean it's no problem" the conductor was quick to respond before he began to shout calling out for a co worker, "Jimmy!".
After calling out for four times Jimmy finally appeared with an annoyed look that instantly turned into a fearful one once he laid eyes on the greyish silver armors before himself.
"Lead these two to a private room"
"Right away. Please follow me" the two Gladius silently followed after Jimmy who quickly led them to their booth before running away.
The two moved in before and silently awaited the departure of the train.
"Kayla" C-7-401 spoke after a minute of silence had passed, "what?" C-6-367 tilted his head to show his confusion as he looked at his fellow Gladius.
"Kayla, that's my name. I just think since we are going to be working together, it wouldn't hurt to call each other by our names rather than our Id numbers." Kayla focused on C-6-367 who remained silent, "So... what's yours?" Kayla questioned as her fellow Gladius remained silent.
"C-6-367"
