I stepped out of Chevy's salon car and waited for him to get out.
"You live here?" He asked.
"Yeah, why though?"
"Nothing...you have a nice house."
"Should I take that as a compliment or what?"
"Maybe. I don't know." He wore a brief smile on his face which quickly faded away. I loved the way he smiled, it made him look more cute.
"Come on in, there are expecting you."
"After you." He said, more like a gentleman he actually wasn't. He was just pulling my leg and all that.
"Mom, we'll be in my room." I informed her and signaled Chevy to follow me upstairs. Earlier, I had texted Livia to tidy up my room and she didn't hesitate on doing so.
"Make yourself comfortable, I'll be with you shortly."
"Okay." He popped his eyes.
I slipped into the bathroom, changed my uniform and intentionally wore a t-shirt without a bra and shorts. Livia had given me forbidden techniques and tips to know when a guy was into me. I had to flirt a little with Chevy because from what I knew guys loved it when girls freed their nipples. That's one thing that made them go crazy.
I applied a light lip gloss to spice everything up and stepped out. Chevy was so engrossed in reading that he barely noticed my presence. I frowned a little bit and jumped up to him when I saw him going through my diary.
"What do you think you're doing? What have you read so far?" I asked him to be sure that he wasn't snooping around.
"Your bucket list, I didn't know that you girls treasured little things like...."
"Like what?"
"Your first kiss, first date...."
"That's why you're not a girl." I took the diary from his hands and threw it into the bedside cabinet.
"What a shame that you haven't had your first kiss yet.'' He muttered lowly but I could hear him loud and clear.
"I haven't met that someone, that special person my heart will have no doubt about, my soulmate." I explained plainly as if he needed me to do so. I don't know why I was so open like a book to him. That didn't matter at the moment, all I wanted to figure out was his sneaky glances at my body. I pulled a chair and sat down while he stood pondering over something. I snapped my fingers to alert him but he was still in wonderland.
"We got to tackle a few questions. I'm not the chemistry neither are you." I snapped him out of his thoughts.
"First of all, write down all the topics you're having trouble reading then we will start with any topic of your choice." He suggested while sitting beside me.
"Noted." I mumbled and got down to work.
Mom barged in, bringing coffee for the both of us. She then glared at me hard and said, "The door should remain open."
She opened the door so wide that I felt rather uneasy. It was like I was being monitored. Mom has never approved of me bringing a guy into the house, she always feared that they'd make me lose focus in my studies.
"Where were we?" I suddenly jolted back to studies but the latter's mind was wondering off from time to time. I don't know what else he was up to besides studying.
"Are you done writing the topics?"
"Yeah, here, have a look." I handed my book over to him.
"Not that bad." He nodded his head while going through the topics.
"I think we should begin with Chemical Substances so that I'll be able to understand Chemical Bonding then break down Chemical Equations. What do you think?"
"Let's begin." He said on a more serious note and I opened the chemistry course book.
We studied for like an hour and then it was time for him to leave. I saw him off to his car.
"It was nice studying with you. See you tomorrow at school." He said as he hopped into his car.
"Drive safely." I waved at him as he pulled away. I really had a wonderful time that night and when I went back to my room, I found Livia on the bed, ready to get a gist of how it went down earlier.
"You were right, he was spacing out and perhaps he had a hard time concentrating." I went straight to the point because I wanted to ponder over him the whole night without anyone interfering.
"I see. Time for phase 2, make him chase after you." She smirked devilishly and left my room. I sighed heavily and was glad that she was gone.
I laid on the bed thinking of him, the way he licked his lips trying to explain the concept to me, the way he smiled, Jeez! I was in over my head. I doubt if I got anything he said, he was the chemistry I wanted to break down and sum up.
