Chapter 12 - The psychology class

Harper stared at me the whole time during the psychology class and I couldn't concentrate in any of Mr. Patrick's theories. I stared at my watch waiting for the class to be over so that I could confront her. One thing I knew was that Harper was seeing someone else in school and I needed to be sure who that was before I could expose her. I had to get things in order before they could get out of hand and I couldn't afford to lose my friendship with Gigi now that we were getting along. I needed to fix myself and portray a good image in front of the girl I admired and adored so much. I glanced at her direction and saw her nibbling the case of her pen, she amused me sometimes. I looked away when I realized Mr. Patrick had asked Howard, my desk mate a question. Everyone had turned their heads to wait for his response. To be honest, I wasn't sure whether I had heard the question or not.

"Mr. Patrick, if you don't mind, could you please repeat the question?" Howard asked sending the whole class bursting with pearls of laughter. Howard was another class clown who made fun of others. He too didn't hear what the teacher had asked since he was busy drawing Chloe, his crush. I prayed silently hoping Mr. Patrick to pick someone else.

"Howard! Make sure you wash the restrooms after this but for now, I need you to concentrate in class!" He gave him a warning look.

"What did do mister? I've never washed toilets before and I could get sick for it. Yew! I can't be the one cleaning everyone's poop. They stink especially Jax's." Howard complained and the whole class laughed. Jax gave him a stern look and I knew he was finished.

"Then focus! I want you to give me the answer to my question, everyone else should be prepared to give me his or her answer as well." He informed. "Howard, as I mentioned earlier, we have loss and grief in psychology and right now I want you to tell me what you've lost and why."

Howard didn't need to think since he had a running mouth. He pursed his lips and said, " I wish I could lose my virginity to the girl I have dreaming about for months now. The reason why, other guys have lost their virginity and they all laugh at me. I can't be deemed as a failure so I'll lose mine soon."

"Howard! Out of my class this minute!" Mr. Patrick was agitated and Howard scurried out before he could get it any worse.

"And make sure the washrooms are clean!" He shouted after him. I couldn't help but laugh out loud as I gave Chloe a pitiful look, if only she knew she was the girl Howard was taking about, she'd hate him for sure. Chloe was little Miss perfect and a clever girl who played hard to get.

"Silence!" Mr. Patrick was pissed off. "You! I believe you had the question, let's hear what you have to say and you better behave." He was implying to me. I was the next person after Howard. Actually, I had no idea of what to say because I had lost a lot but since I didn't want to make a complete fool out of myself, I gave it a shot.

"My parents got divorced and that's one thing I hate losing, everyone wishes to have a complete and perfect family but I had none of that. I just have to live with that and accept things can't work the way we want them to." I sighed deeply waiting for his remarks.

"I'm sorry to hear about that, hope you're doing okay."

"Mmmh!" I nodded silently.

"Okay, that's a brave one. Class, that's what I require, your basis should rely on real life situations even those quite sentimental. It's always a way to express what you feel inside. See you tomorrow." Mr. Patrick picked his books from the table and left the classroom having heard the bell.

"I didn't know that your parents were that toxic, like father, like son." Harper mocked me.

"Tell me it isn't true, that you're carrying my child Harper." I found myself grabbing her arm and that might have made Gigi provoked because she walked out of the class when I looked at her.

"What do you think you're doing?" Harper sneered at me.

"Soon I'll find out who has been reaping where I have been sowing. It's just a matter of time, Harper." I gave her a little scare and walked out to look for Gigi.
