Quinn was about to zip her back shut when Leif asked, "But your cleaning supplies are in there?" he said and her movement paused before she thought of a solution.
"I will get new ones on my way," she replied before pullling her hair up into a bun.
Leif didn't know why but he was a little irritated. Why wasn't she asking him for help? He could get inside and take her beauty stuff for her. Why couldn't she asked him? At this point Leif had already forgotten what sort of relationship they had.
"I... I will get it for you," he said and Quinn was so surprised that she didn't know how to respond for a moment.
"Uh... okay. Thank you," she said her palm resting on her forehead.
Leif turned around and opened the door but once he stepped in he wasn't sure what to take. There was almost five bottles and jar with the word face on them. There was two sponges and four towels. Three hair products and two shower gels.
Leif was officially confused. How many things did a woman need to take a shower? He walked back out and found Quinn standing by bedroom door like she was ready to bolt.
Leif, "..."
He couldn't help but feel like she would ditch him of they were ever attacked by spiders.
"What should I get? There is a lot of things," he said and Quinn felt a little embrassed. When he opened that door she couldn't help but think that the spiders had accomplices. What id they came to exact revenge. Wouldn't she die from fight then?
"Just my tooth brush, toothpaste, any sponged and towel with do," she said before recalling her skin care products. Leif had already entered the bathroom so she yelled, "And a facial cleanser!"
Leif couldn't tell any of the products apart thus he took out a sanitary wipe and put everything in a tiny basket she had in the bathroom.
He put everything she needed in there before leaving exiting the bathroom. "Here," he said and Quinn saw his hand holding the basket with a sanitary wipe but she wasn't offended at all. She was afraid of spiders and he was afraid of germs. It was totally understandable.
"Thank you," she said before picking up her bag. "I am not coming to back tonight so... you have to take care of dinner," she said before taking a step to leave.
Leif walked in front of her blocking her path before asking, "What? Why?"
Quinn wasn't sure how to say this. She was afraid the eight legged accomplices might come after her while she is sleeping.
She was hoping that after the cleaning auntie comes tomorrow she would be through and make sure there were no more spiders.
"I am going to stay with my mother for a night. I can't sleep here with ease," she said as a shiver ran down her back thinking that could be other spiders hiding in the shadows just watching her.
Leif's gaze glanced at the little lamp on the bed and she suddenly didn't want her to go. He but his lower lip lightly before saying, "We have something to discuss so how about you use my shower and I will take you to a hotel for the night. I will ask someone to clean the entire house from top to bottom and make sure there will be no more spiders."
"Are you sure?" asked Quinn a little unsure about this. She honestly didn't expect him to agree to this.
"Yes sure it's fine. I will have someone clean up," he said but in truth he didn't let the cleaning stuff clean his bedroom. He normally would do it himself. He just didn't want her to refuse his offer because he was afraid she would leave.
Quinn could sense his uneasiness thus she asked him again, "Are you sure because I can go to the gym, seriously."
Leif tried to press down his discomfort and said, "Its fine don't overthink it."
Quinn bit her lower lip with her arms wrapped around her abdomen before asking, "Then can you wait for me so I can pick up some clothes to wear? Please," while glancing at the door of the bathroom.
Leif pursed his lips as he glanced back at the bathroom door. He naturally wanted to refuse but recalling how frightened she was before he nodded his head and she turned to the walk on closet picking up a few things.
While she was pulling out a few clothes from the hanger he caught a glimpse of a t-shirt that was oddly familiar. That was because it belonged to him.
The day she woke up from her drunken stupor after drinking the night of the winter ball when Marcellus accepted her cousin's confession. Because she was wearing a sparkly dress she couldn't leave like that.
She asked for his gym uniform. Because it was a boy's sports uniform and a stain on it from when she smeared mustard on it he could tell it was his.
"That...," he said on impulse but instantly fell silent unable to continue asking.
Quinn scratched the corner of her upper lip while pulling out another t-shirt and asked, "What?"
"No its nothing he said," but he kept running his forefinger and thumb together like he was very nervous about something.
A few minutes later the lights in Leif's bedroom switched on automatically as he led her to the open bathroom door. Leif's bedroom aesthetic was a clean with completely neutral colours and minimalist. The light coming from the floor to ceiling windows with a stunning city view. Quinn had picked in a few times while passing by but she never entered as per instructions.
His bathroom was very spacious and unlike the guest bedroom it was a luxury. Everything was in its place near and clean making people want stick around longer than necessary.
The design was sleek yet inviting with plenty of sun from the mirrored surfaces reflecting the light. It was the opposite of Leif's personality but it satisfied his cleanliness habit.
