Chapter 61 - 61

Her entire life she was mummy and daddy's little princess. This meant that she would get whatever she wanted and every day her father would always tell her that no one was good for her little princess.

Thus she always refused anyone who pursued her because they weren't good enough for her. She would refuse them with up turned nose but when she set her eyes on Leif she knew that this man was perfect for her.

She told her parents about it and like any other gift that she always wanted she told them that she loved him and wanted to be with him. Her parents agreed with her as they also thought Leif was perfect for her. He was a smart young man with a bright future and no messy past. He didnt gave ambiguous relationships and he was clean at a glance.

Since Leif was also being urged to marry they thought of arranging a blind date with him but Leif refused with no hesitation. Using their business contracts as an excuse, Alison who had no experience whatsoever in business matters accompanied her parents and like this they pushed her towards him.

They were confident that once he gets to know her he would like her too and the rest would be history but who would have thought Leif would throw her out when she came by herself to the company.

The two had a major falling out after that and Mrs Bach tried to pressure him with the government contracts they had between them to produce weapons but even she knew they need Leif more than he needed them so they forbade her from seeing him and ground her.

Leif was already irritated enough and it was best she didnt further offend this great buddha.

But Alison wasn't happy about it. Everyday she stared at his pictures and the ones she cropped them in together her love for him growing like virus. It spread all over from her heart to her soul infesting her every being until all she could think about was Leif all day.

Unable to bare it she devised an escape and ran away from home. She suddenly thought of her friend that she occasionally spoke to. Her history made her the perfect candidate to help her break into Leif's home. After learning that he would be at the main mansion she called Quinn and got together with her. With the alcohol flowing she sold her misery and as expected Quinn ate it up.

When they got caught she didnt dare admit that it was her idea. She threw all the blame on Quinn and barely escaped from this unscathed. She felt slight guilt towards Quinn thus she apologised but Quinn never responded to her. She wanted to compensate her with money but when she called she found that Quinn had blocked her number.

She wasn't to broken up about it thus she moved on. Who would have thought her friend would turn around and marry the man of her dreams? That was in fact the ultimate betrayal. She wanted to break them up thus she came looking h for her. Whether Quinn would agree was not on her mind. All she knew was that they had to break up and it was none negotiable.

Her fingers clutched the steering wheel tightly till her fingers turned white as she broke down crying. She was unwilling, very unwilling to let this go thus she wiped away her tears and unlocked her cell phone looking for anything that would

tell her were Quinn frequented recently.

Page after page showed pictures of her at the Skylire boutique once, at lunch or shopping with her mother.

There was no pattern to her behaviour unlike in the past were one would know she was at the gym at certain hours of the day.

Just as she was about to give up she scrolled down one more time and saw a picture of her at the nearby square with grocery stores, cafes and expensive restaurants near the complex.

It seemed Quinn had one more habit she hadn't gotten rid of. She still did her grocery shopping by herself.

Alison's eyes brightened as she started her car and drove over to the place. When she got there she unlocked her cell phone to confirm and that was the beginning of her first ever stakeout.

Quinn who had no idea that she had offended Alison was sitting scrolling through her cell phone unpacked some of her things that were at the apartment.

Because she wouldn't be staying there for a year she had her mother help her pack her things and send them to Amalie's house except for a few things.

Leif had strictly forbidden her from leaving the apartment unless if he instructed her to. Quinn who wasn't willing to be kept like a canary in a cage refused to be locked up thus negotiated one daily trip to the grocery store for some fresh air.

She also knew that Leif was doing it for her own safety because after he made that public post some people weren't too happy about it and would do anything in their power to mess things up.

If this marriage was allowed to proceed it would undoubtedly hinder his cousin from taking over and knowing his spoilt uncle he might resort to violence.

Quinn packed away her clothes and shoes in the closet of the guest room before putting Mumu directly on the bed.

She heaved a heavy sigh as she looked out the window. "How about it Mumu? How do you like this place?" she said only for the little sheep to look at her like she was crazy. Why would a stuffed plushy respond to her?

"Its just one year Mumu and after that you, I and mum will travel the world and meet interesting people. Are there any places you want to go?" she said again with a slight smile.

Mumu, "...."

Forgive her for talking to herself. She did thus quite often as she had no one else to talk at night. It would make her feel like she wasn't alone. Like there was someone with her in the silent night.
