The dark-haired knew this would chase him forever, so he sat next at the boy's side on the shore, a bit guilty, "it was an accident, I stumbled with him and he just fell. It happened by chance. I didn't look for it"
The boy punched his arm, not too strong, but to leave him clear how it feels, "You hurt my bae, I don't even know how he's doing now, do you have any idea how it feels?".
He took the punch, maybe he deserved it, yet he didn't hit him back; however, his voice carried a hint of sarcasm within which he wasn't aware of, "I'm sorry for hurting your 'future husband', I didn't plan any of this if that helps."
Teo side eyed him as he caught his tone a little offensive.
Josh didn't stop there as he kept on talking, even though he knew it wasn't the right timing,"I just jumped into the water coz you said you couldn't swim," the dark-haired male let him know his reasoning to go after him.
The blonde found it annoying to be seen as someone who needs to be saved, "You coulda fetch a rescue boat instead of going on your own. Even I was trained to do so if the situation called for it. You been trained for years should've known better than I do"
Josh let out his frustration, he couldn't fathom the thought of the younger vanishing before his eyes and just standing there, he couldn't live with himself knowing he could've saved a life, "Yeah and waiting for you to drown? No in this lifetime, man!"
Teo leaned his body back, supporting his weight with his hands, "Is this how the navy teaches marines how to save someone from drowning in sea?"
The older glanced at the latter, sighing slightly, "No, but I didn't have time to follow regular procedures," conviction clear in his voice.
"I saw you flying off and that was all it took, looking for a buoy would've taken time." He didn't want to let Teo know he acted out of impulse rather than rationally.
Josh stood up, not wishing to talk more without having a bite of food in his mouth, "We need to get out of here but first let's find something to eat."
Teo got back on his feet, snapping at him, "Like what? Leaves?" Aiming dramatically the trees in the zone.
The older male chuckled at his antics, "I can either fish or get some coconuts, your choice" shrugging his broad shoulders.
The blonde got intrigued at the thought of trying fruits in the wild, "coconuts sounds fun, let's go for some," the smile coming back to his beautiful face.
Josh snapped his fingers, ready to try some fresh water as he was thirsty, "Then let's get some"
They walked a bit deeper into the tree zone looking for a coconut palm tree.
Josh climbed up one when he spotted it, fetching 3 from the plant, cutting them with his pocket knife.
Teo's eyes went wide, seeing how easy he climbed up and down, besides seeing how skillfully he was with his knife even if all he could use was a single hand.
He questioned the older one once he came down, "Do you always carry that thing with you?" asking about the pocket knife.
Josh chuckled, nodding, "Yeah, this and my mobile are with me all the time."
The blonde one shivered, watching him unfold it again after settling the coconuts on the ground.
He saw the older scroutching, holding a coconut from the ground, "You're scary" he commented when Josh dug the tip of his knife within the coconut.
His eyes couldn't believe it when a round tiny hole formed on the top, "How come?"
Josh offered him the holed up coconut from his sitting position to the stunned boy by his side.
Too perplexed to even react, "No one, and I repeat, no one I've ever met carried one with himself all the time"
Josh chuckled, thinking the boy might not want the coconut as he didn't take it from his hands, "There's always a first time," he grinned, bringing the coconut to his lips, taking a taste of the freshwater to quench his thirst.
"Hey, leave some for me too," the younger complained, walking over to snatch the coconut.
Josh saw how the blonde stole it from his hands, "I was giving it out to you, yet you didn't take it, it's not my fault" noticing how the younger one squinted his eyes.
Teo rolled his eyes in annoyance, "You didn't give me enough time," chugging the coconut water down in a gulp, almost choking as his sweet-toothed self didn't enjoy the taste.
"Blewww! What's this?" the blonde scrunched his face, pursuing his lips.
The older one laughed at his cute and funny expression, and how he couldn't avoid showing his dislike towards it.
Josh took the coconut from his hands, sitting down again.
Asking with a soft smile, "Such a baby, what caused you to make that funny face?", withdrawing his pocket knife to peel a layer of the coconut.
Teo scrunched his beautiful face almost as if sucking a lemon, "Everything, its taste is kinda off!", not liking its flavor as he found it kinda simple and greasy.
After he peeled a thin layer he smashed it against a sharp rock on their side, "It's sweet, refreshing and agreeable."
Teo winced, not really into it, "Are we talking about the same thing?" He just couldn't fathom the thought of it touching his tongue again.
Josh hit the coconut with all his might, cracking open, causing Teo to jump a little, "yeah, I mean it's not as sweet as candy, but slightly sweet" he said, pulling both ends apart.
The blonde stared at the white thing inside the shell, intrigued and starving, "Then we're not talking about the same thing," he sat down when the older started to carve into the coconut to get the 'meat' out.
Teo noticed how careful and meticulous he was when it dove in, peeling a thin white layer from within.
Josh smiled when he saw the curious expression on the boy's face,"Depends on the palate. In my opinion it's more than fine." Plucking out a piece of coconut meat he presented it to the younger, "this might be more of your preference as it's sweeter" bringing it to the blonde's lips.
Teo eyed the white piece then back to the older, cheeks stained in a shade of pink-peach, "are you gon' feed me now?", not really disliking the thought though.
Josh grinned, staring at his coloured cheeks, "Is there any problem if I do so?" More than ready to feed him.
The blonde cleared his throat, ready to go for the kill, "Nope, just checking," he nibbled into it, flustered, eyes going wide open the next second as the gentle flavour spread into his mouth.
Teo half chuckled, incredulous, "It tastes different… a soft, a little sweet" he took the whole thing inside his mouth to chew on it.
Josh smiled smugly, "Like coconut flakes, I know, if we were to have a blender I'd make some ice cream. You'd love it" going back to carve some more.
Teo thought briefly before opening his mouth after swallowing it, "wouldn't it be too heavy if we add coconut and heavy cream?" Thinking about how he usually makes ice creams.
Josh shook his head, "Well, if you're on a diet then it could be, but a smoothie is a good choice. Have you ever tried it? I once mixed chocolate in it and the taste of coconut was barely present," telling his adventures in the kitchen.
Teo laughed awkwardly, "Well, I'm fond of strawberries. I must say I've added coconut to my creations but they don't taste really good, so I'll pass on that one," he couldn't picture the time he mixed coconut with strawberry as ice tea and it caused him stomach ache. Although the real reason could be because he stuffed himself with the whole mix which was about 6 cups.
Josh wasn't gonna let the chance to disturb the younger go, "Maybe you haven't tried the right recipe. I bet I can make you lick your fingers" taking it as a challenger.
Feeding the younger with more coconut meat as he spoke, Teo felt his stomach calming down as the food filled his system.
Yet he grinned, not making it easy to the older, "I'll give this one 7/10. When I try your recipe we will see if you can convince me"
Josh licked his lips unconsciously when the boy ran his tongue over his lips, cleaning them from the slight fat layer covering his now glossy lips, "How mean, but it's fine. Ready to get back on track?"
Teo was unaware of the man's reaction so he just nodded, "I was born ready, man!" Picking up another flake and munching into it.
After finishing two out of the three coconuts they picked up their pace, this time the older took the lead to get back to civilization.
