He finally found her.
From the first look, he knew she was his mate. No. Even from a distance, since the smell of fragrant roses entered his nose, he knew right away that he should not let her go. And the closer they were, he could see his mate was so admirably. She had a baby face with a height not exceeding his shoulder.
Wait. His mate was not a minority, was it?
Wyatt had commissioned his beta, Theo, to look for the information about his woman. Ah, could he call her like that? After all, his mate was created only for him. So, he could claim her as her woman, right?
In addition, he also canceled his return to Oxford, precisely Virescent Mountain, where their pack stayed. Of course, he would not let go of this opportunity. He would approach his mate in any way. All his senses had fallen over her charm, moreover, when his mate stared back at him. He felt like being sucked in the trance of her brown eyes. That pretty color embellished her figures even more.
He took a sip of his coffee. Then he sniffed the aroma as it passed through his throat. Oh, he did it reversely. He supposedly enjoyed the smell before tasting the bitterness of his coffee with no sugar.
But why did he care? Only his mate and Theo, who had not returned from his duties, were in his mind. He hardly waited for the good news. At least, he wanted to know what his mate's name was. It should be as beautiful as her figure.
Wyatt was about to return the cup to the table but canceled it. He decided to take another sip to calm his mind. Wyatt tried his best to withstand himself from not calling Theo and interfering with his quest. Anyway, it only had been an hour since they split.
This time, he did not take time to smell the aroma. His composure was on the edge so that the smell could not suppress it any longer. However, a heavy sound entered his ear while returning the cup to the table.
"Wyatt."
It was Theo. Wyatt could recognize him even when his figure was not seen. Theo emerged from behind him, and it made him almost jump due to the shock caused by his only sudden voice. "Theo!" He slightly raised his voice. "You're supposed to appear in front of me instead of surprised me from behind," he protested.
"Sorry, Alpha," Theo said as he walked to the front of Wyatt to expose himself, as requested by the Alpha. He immediately sat down in the empty seat in front of Wyatt. "I thought you'd noticed me."
Wyatt and Theo's relationship even though Alpha and Beta were very close. They grew together, and it strengthened them and bonded them like brothers. Their age was also a year different.
"I didn't," he answered honestly. As Theo said, he should have been aware of his beta's presence because werewolves like them were awarded a sharp instinct, sharper than humans. They could recognize something by the smells and sounds from a distance. He must so focus on his mate, so it disrupted his ability. Or the coffee's pleasant aroma had covered his nose.
"Why? Is it because you can not stop thinking about her?"
Wyatt snorted softly. He knew Theo was teasing or maybe taunting him. Theo obviously knew very well the feeling of meeting the mate for the first time. "You're lucky to find your mate first," he grumbled. If not, he would be the one teasing Theo by showing off his intimacy with his mate. Yeah, yeah. You could say that he was jealous whenever he saw Cassie hanging on Theo's arm. He, too, wanted to feel it.
Theo chuckled at that. When they were together, sometimes, they seemed to forget their status and became ordinary men by exchanging some humor and laughing.
Again, Wyatt snorted, lamenting his fate less quickly to find his mate. But, it was not a race, wasn't it? Besides, who knew when he would meet his woman?
He cleared his throat and straightened his back. He changed his face into a serious expression. Now he was ready to receive news from Theo. "So, what did you find?" he asked, no longer wanting to mince words because he could not wait any longer.
Theo, who viewed Wyatt's serious look, followed him by shifting the mood. It was time for him to be back as a beta. "So..."
Wyatt paused his breath when Theo's first word came out. It was caused by nervousness also enthusiasm.
"Her name is Glara, twenty years old. She is from Indonesia and has landed in London. It's also her first trip to London, probably for a vacation. She comes alone and currently rents a place in the Orchid apartment for a month." Theo shortly uttered all the information he had got to Wyatt. That was all he could gather for the moment through his connections.
Wyatt nodded in understanding. Although brief, it sufficed to relieve his curiosity. At least, he had known her name and where she stayed. But, wait. A month?
"She'll be here for a month?" he asked, making sure his hearing. It was a long time for a vacation, especially in London, which is famous for being expensive.
Theo nodded confidently. "Yes. And Alpha-" he paused on purpose. "—she's human," he continued, sounding doubtful and scared. Yes, scared. He was afraid his Alpha would reject her for that reason.
"I know," Wyatt responded. Of course, he already knew it. His nose could distinguish the smell of humans from other creatures. And history also recorded many marriages between werewolves and humans. That meant he accepted the possibility of his mate being a human, which turned out to be true.
What he was afraid of was Glara rejecting him. Even though they had a lot in common, humans and werewolves had a big difference. Werewolves could show themselves as humans and wolves. Obviously, it was something very odd to an ordinary human like her. He was worried that his mate would run away once she learned about those facts.
"Then what are you going to do?"
What would he do?
Wyatt sighed as he threw his back against the back of the chair. What he was about to do was clearly to approach her. There was no bargaining about that. He had to reach into her heart.
The question was, how?
"What do you think?" He asked back.
Theo was silent for a moment to think about the answer. The situation was quite complex, and it required careful planning. "You have to take slow steps. Don't be in a hurry."
"I know that. I don't want my mate to run away before I explain how important she is to me and our pack."
"And I think we need Cassie's help. I hear women can get closer quickly. And maybe Cassie can help you come up with ideas on how to get to know her naturally." Theo explained another idea in his mind. If it was a woman matter, fellow women knew better how to solve it. And he was sure their female pack members were ready to help their Alpha and prospective Luna be united. Correction. All members, not only women.
Wyatt rubbed his forefinger against his chin, looking thoughtfully at Theo's proposal. That was not a bad idea. He could even say that it was a great idea. "Then tell Cassie to come here right away." Yes, he would leave the part of approaching Glara to her. It was better than him that he solely had one goal and maybe one plan. Approaching her. His best strategy was to carry out a direct move. And it didn't seem like a good idea, considering the circumstances. He must remember that he had to do it slowly so that Glara could accept everything well, including him and her destiny.
"Okay."
"And summon two men here," Wyatt added to his order.
"What for?" Theo furrowed his brows, not understanding his late order's relation to their discussion.
"To protect her."
