Chapter 41 - Attack

Over a thousand human cultivators gathered in front of Sheng Tian. Tang Die Hua, Shang Yu Hong, Xiao Hua, and Bing Xue stood behind him. He had briefed everyone what the Xuan Beast Alliance were trying to do and prepared to attack their camp and save the women that were captured.

"Everyone"

His voice was carried out by qi, allowing all that gathered to be able to hear him.

"I will get straight to the point. The half-bloods have formed an alliance and have broken the ancient agreement between races. Currently, they are staying in the forest and will soon try to attack us"

Slight panic and unease could be seen on the peoples faces. They clearly don't wish to fight as that would lead to crippling damage to their side.

"I know that some are afraid, but what will happen to your juniors and seniors that were captured? They will all die if we do not fight back"

"So pick up your weapons! The Five Continents have been ruled by the human race for millennia and we are not about to lose it to those hybrids! I know that the righteous path and the wicked path do not get along but we are human at the end of the day"

The previous dull atmosphere turned into one filled with battle intent. The women stared at Sheng Tian with surprise. To be able to rouse everyone is an impressive feat that few can achieve. By igniting their pride, Sheng Tian was able to unite the humans and turn their attention to the half-bloods.

Hundreds of geniuses used various techniques and flew towards the forest in the north. Killing intent filled the air as they didn't bother to hide their fluctuations.

Boom!

A wave of techniques hit the forest to reveal a camp full of confused half-bloods. Another wave caught them off guard, killing a large portion of them. Limbs flew and blood spilled, this sudden reversal put the half-bloods at a severe disadvantage.

Meanwhile, Sheng Tian stood in the sky overlooking the battle. The half-bloods had formed a defensive line despite the chaotic situation. The reason Sheng Tian didn't go in and slaughter everyone himself was to gather information. The real hands behind the scene haven't shown up yet.

Using their superior physical bodies, The half-bloods managed to fight the human cultivators to a stalemate despite them bringing down their numerical advantage.

And then the tides changed. One young man jumped behind the half-bloods and chose to self detonate. His dantian exploded, sending a mass of energy that killed half a dozen half-bloods and blew a hole in their defense.

Taking this opportunity, the human cultivators surrounded the half-bloods and were rapidly gaining the advantage.

Just then, a flash of gold could be seen, blinding most of the human cultivators.

Whoosh!

Sheng Tian gestured for the women behind him to step back before launching himself into a large group of half-bloods.

Boom!

The impact of him landing on the ground killed dozens of half-bloods, making it so that they could not take advantage of the fact that most of the human cultivators were temporarily blind.

"Du Ze was it? How about we take it to the skies"

Du Ze stepped forward. He would have looked regal with those golden wings and dragon horns but his expression looked like he ate shit.

"Who are you?! How dare you try to ruin my plans!"

They circled each other in the sky and waited for the other to make a move. Sheng Tian didn't feel like asking nor answering any questions, "I'll just soul search him later" he thought.

"Humph! Since you don't want to answer I'll just kill you! Devil Seed Awakening!"

Black tendrils covered Du Ze's body and his golden wings turned a dark shade of purple. His eyes turned red and black tentacle-like tattoos covered him.

Most importantly was that his aura showed that his strength reached a terrifying six major realms while at the ninth level of Foundation. In comparison, Sheng Tian had eight major realms in prowess but was at the first level of Foundation. This matchup was pretty even and would depend on the trump cards the other party has.

Du Ze took the first move and reached a clawed hand over. Sheng Tian drew the Devouring Sword and tried to cut off his hand.

Ping!

Sparks flew and Sheng Tian was surprised to see that Du Ze's limbs are on par with Spirit ranked weapons.

"Surprised right? It's too late now!"

His wings started emitting dark strands of light and his claws were covered in scales.

Boom!

Dragon's Might spread out from him, interrupting the battle below them and Du Ze disappeared from his spot in the air.

"No one has survived this attack and you won't be the first!"

Pah!

A figure flew out of the sky and crashed against several trees before coming to a stop. Du Ze climbed out of the debris and looked at Sheng Tian in the sky with fear.

"Bastard! How were you not affected by my Dragon's Might!"

Sheng Tian spared no breath to answer him and simply prepared his next attack. He sheathed the Devouring Sword and injected qi into it. The next moment, the sword was out of its sheath and a ray of light flew out.

"Flowing Phantom Draw Sword"

Unlike other draw sword techniques, the Flowing Phantom Draw Sword was slow. This gave it the illusion that it was easy to dodge. Du Ze fell for it and simply flew into the sky.

He smirked at Sheng Tian and Sheng Tian just smiled at him. The hairs on his neck stood and his senses screamed at him to move. He managed to shift his body to the left and a hole appeared on his chest.

"What...?"

Sheng Tian slowly made his way towards Du Ze "You are too arrogant. Perhaps you'll change in your next life"

Sheng Tian slowly swung his sword at Du Ze. Du Ze looked at him with an indignant expression.

"I refuse! Sky Dragon's Roar!"

Sheng Tian's brows creased and he instantly moved back and put up a barrier "Soulspirit Sword Curtain"

"Roar!"

A wave of wind blew apart Sheng Tian's defense and Du Ze took that opportunity to crush a spatial talisman. A bit of blood trickled down from his ears that were damaged by that sound technique.

He frowned but it soon turned into a smile. The smile of a hunter who found interesting prey.
