After finishing her class, Susan walked out along with her classmates, Luna and Oliva. She saw Jake waiting for her at the corner of the hallway. She pretended as didn't notice him and walked away by passing him. He stopped her by holding her hand.
Luna and Oliva excused her when Jake held her hand, saying, "See you later."
Susan turned to him and glared for being rude to her. He releases her hand and apologizes, "I apologize for what I did in the morning."
The sincerity in his eyes as he apologized to her, making a cute and innocent expression on his face, melted her within seconds, and she stopped glaring at him.
It was her chance. Susan wished to talk to him. It was about time that she accepted his apology and asked him out for dinner. While Susan was about to converse with him, Katie bragged, and Aaron followed her.
Before Katie says something annoying to Jake, Susan asks her to stay calm and says, "Be quiet. Let me talk."
Katie stood calm and looked fiercely at Jake and Aaron. Susan turned to Jake and said, "Aaron told me everything. I forgive you." She continued by paying attention to Katie, " Please don't trouble Aaron. He's innocent."
Katie gave her a simple nod in her acceptance and made up with Aaron. Jake was impressed by her calm and composed personality.
Jake proposed, "Go out for a coffee. It's my treat. Think of it as my apology." Susan agreed when Katie was willing to tag along when Aaron pleased her.
Jane was annoyed seeing Susan and Jake smiling at each other from a distance. She convinced herself, 'Jake was trying to accomplish Mark's bet. Nothing more.' She relaxed, and get into her car, and left.
They all reached the café. Jake and Aaron got the coffee for everyone after paying the bill, and Jake took the seat across from Susan and stared at her all the time. Aaron noticed him, distracted by pushing him with his arm, and whispered, "If you were caught by Katie checking at her friend. She will kill us here with her words. Behave yourself."
Jake gets annoyed by his suggestion and whispers, "Why are you afraid of her? She is your girlfriend, not a boss. Why doesn't she treat you well?"
He replied, "She treats me well when you are not around. She doesn't like your annoying behavior. Because of you, I have to hear from her."
"I don't understand why she hates me?" this time, he was loud. Katie asked him, "Was it about me?"
Jake agrees, "Yeah, it's you. I don't get why you hate me."
"Because you, he don't have time for me. You always stick to him, and we never get a chance to spend time together."
Susan laughed at her and asked, "Are you jealous of him?"
"Of course. We are a couple. Can't he have a little common sense to leave him alone to have time for me? Not just that, he is just annoying." Katie explained. Aaron and Susan were laughing at her being possessive of him. She continued gazing at Jake, "you don't understand as you've never been in love."
"Fine. I got you." Jake said to her.
They all got silent for a while. Aaron asks Katie to drop her at home. Jake insisted, "Yeah. We can drop you guys at home," and continued by turning his focus to Susan, "Where do you live?"
Susan was about to answer him, but Aaron beat her and answered him, "She stays next door to Katie."
"Do you know her?" Jake asked Aaron.
"Yeah. I met her twice when I dropped Katie off at her home. She looks different now." Aaron replied.
"Of course. I wore lens today." Susan replied, looking at Aaron.
"You look pretty with glasses," Aaron commented, to which Katie said, "Indeed, you're." She smiled and thanked him for his appreciation.
They drop them at home in their car. Aaron and Katie walked away after getting off the vehicle. Jake apologizes to Susan again, "Sorry again for today."
"No worries. It made my first day in college memorable. Getting a proposal from one of the most popular in the college. It's a rare chance, right." Susan smiled at him.
Jake smiled at her tease and asked, "Finally, can I get a chance to be friends with you? Only asking for being friends, if you feel okay with it."
Susan accepted, "Sure, good night," and walked into her home after they left in their car.
When Aaron was driving, Jake thought, 'many times I tagged along with Aaron to visit Katie at her home. why hadn't I noticed her? she is nice.' And got a smile on his face by today's incident, where he was flattered by her.
When Aaron noticed Jake smiling, he asked, "Are you up to something? "
Jake replied, "Didn't you find it funny? Having been provoked by Mark to play a prank on Susan, I ended up becoming friends with her the same day." He continued after a pause, "Aren't you think she is different?"
Aaron glanced at Jake's fascinating expression when he spoke about Susan.'Was he interested in her?' and he replied to Jake with a smile, "Indeed." He focused on his driving.
