Chapter 36 - Sia.

Ning was a normal girl who didn't go out of her way to look fashionable, but she had a lot of male admirers because of her easy going demeanor and attractiveness. Ning, who tried to stay out of the way as much as possible, found it annoying that she was so attractive.

He cursed the fact that it was this way.

"Wow, that must be a McLaren P1 right? Who in this city would dare to drive something like that?" When Ning noticed the crowds surrounding the car and taking photos, Feng Lin smiled awkwardly, thinking he should have parked on the other side.

Ning was astounded to see the car that had gathered so much attention simply by standing there without a driver.

The car's driver might have been someone she knows, but for a moment she thought it might be someone else.

She couldn't imagine how the character, who was just a college student, could buy something so expensive.

"That car is pretty cool, Feng Lin." Feng Lin felt a twinge of embarrassment when he overheard Wen Ning refer to his car as "cool," but he could tell that she was genuinely surprised to see it.

"Do you want to ride it?" Wen Ning was taken aback as she turned to face Feng Lin, who was standing with his hand outstretched.

"It can't be true; he's got to be playing some kind of prank on me." As she pouted and turned to face the man in front of her, a smile appeared on her face.

"Stop playing pranks on me, Feng Lin." Wen Ning shook his hand off, and Feng Ling laughed as he pulled out the electronic key and pressed the button, setting off the car's ringing tone and shocking the people standing nearby into a momentary retreat.

"Please everyone, give me the way to my car." Sister Ning was taken aback to see Feng Lin open the door of the luxurious car, and Feng turned to call the other people who had gathered around the car to leave.

"You weren't kidding about it, don't tell me you borrowed it to show off or something." The first thing Ning did after getting into the expensive car was to inquire about it with Feng Lin.

She obviously knows about Feng Lin's family situation, and she must know that purchasing a car of that price would have been out of the question for him.

"Sister Ning, I know you're skeptical, but it's true, and you should get in the habit of riding it from now on, given that I'd only give you a ride around in a car of comparable quality." Ning patted Feng Lin on the back and shook her head, but she was also genuinely pleased for him.

"How would I be able to call you for a lift with something this expensive? It will definitely not suit me."

When he heard this, Feng Lin smiled wryly, knowing that Sister Ning would eventually need to resort to this tactic, even though he himself would continue to annoy her and force her to see the world beyond the confines of her own limited experience.

Ning looked around the car, which from the inside still looked awesome, as it drove away. Feng Lin laughed at this, wondering how he'd come to witness Sister Ning in such a childlike state, given that she normally presents as so composed.

Due to brother Duan's departure, "Sister Ning, I want you to leave the current job you are working in, as he will not be able to protect you in those clubs." However, Feng Ling realized how dangerous her previous workplace was and agreed to hire her as an assistant, a situation that benefited both of them.

"Feng, you know I..." Ning wanted to buy her way out of the situation, but she didn't know what to do in the face of Feng Lin's persistent stare. Since Feng Lin's ultimate goal was to keep her safe, this explanation makes the most sense.

"Sister Ning, I know you didn't want to trouble anyone else, but I'm trying to make ends meet, and I wanted to hire you as an assistant since what I'm missing is someone I can trust." Now that he knew something that nobody else did, a serious expression formed on his face as he continued to drive.

"Even though you kept it hidden well, when I studied in universities, I realized how well you were prepared for business studies, with things you taught being present in our classes, allowing me to pass the first year without any hard work."

Feng was taken aback at first, but then he realized how hard sister Ning was working to complete at least the third year syllabus in the business field.

The girl in front of Feng Lin, who must already have mastered the knowledge from the Mastery Class of Business field, was the reason he was given the half-genius title.

"Given that your brother has already laid the groundwork for you to succeed, rather than sitting on the money in your bank account, why don't you give me a push?"

Since having a trustworthy secretary was currently Wen Ning's top priority, he turned to face Feng, who had once more extended his hand.

"I wish I could join you, Feng, but I'm tied down here; nonetheless, I beg your pardon for your sister's transgression this once and for all."

Feng sighed in a pained tone when Ning said no, and her voice trembled as a result.

He had not expected her to say no, and it had disappointed him somewhat. And in his mind, he was already making plans for how to pull her to his side without causing her any harm.

"Now that I'm on your turf, I'd like to ask you something very important to me, so I hope you won't mind if I come to you with a question."

Feng Lin heaved a sigh and stepped back before he remembered to ask her about it. Sister Ning returned to her senses after hearing Feng Lin's words, smiling willfully and nodding.

"What can you tell me about Sia, a child who met an incident?"

"My organization wants me to deal with the main person behind her death; they say it was not a suicide, but a murder someone planned."

Hearing her name, Ning quivered and looked at Feng, a little terrified, but looking at Feng's serious face, she realized that there were many things she had yet to realize about her little brother, who had returned to the city after a year and a half away.

"By the look on your face right now, sister Ning must know about her and be connected to her, right?" Feng sensed the shift in sister Ning's expression and patted her head, smiling at the fact that she appeared concerned about him. Since things didn't work the other way around, she was no longer a suspect.

"Don't fret too much, sister Ning; I'm not here to charge at the killer or anything, and I have support from my group, so I'll be fine as long as the enemy is not an expert in the grandmaster realm."

Considering how small and insignificant this city was, the idea of a grandmaster realm lurking in the shadows and killing a little girl for kicks on the street made no sense.

So, with his cultivation base, Feng Lin was confident that he could handle any martial artist in the inner Qi realm.

"Huh, alright, but can we talk about it in the restaurant?" After considering how Feng could have a backup plan for it and seeing the confident smile on Feng Lin's face, Ning nodded and decided to share everything she knew about Sia.

Given, an organization that can give someone such an expensive car as a reward is not without power.

So, given Feng Lin's rapid advancement within the organization, she determined that it would be best for her to assist him as much as possible.
