Chapter 11 - Chapter 11( His other half)

After a few minutes, she had finally, gone to sleep. He stood up and made his way to the window but he did want to open it so that the souls won't get in so he just sat on the couch opposite his mate. His eye lingered on Rainer's sleeping face and a smile made its way to his lips.

Finally, after so many years he had finally found his other half. Just looking at her gave him the peace that he never thought he could have but here he was smiling to himself.

Remembering her last questions he threw his head back and fell into deep thought. She would eventually find out but he didn't want her to start fearing him, but if he didn't, then she would find out from someone else.

Kylan's eyebrows knit together as he heard the taping that came from the window. Taking another quick clear at Rainer he left the room.

Rainer woke up with Kylan's gone, she stood up and took her bath. After last night's question and answer Rainer"s curiosity only grew larger, what did he mean by that fearful growl came from him she thought. Rainer also remembered the first time she called him by his name, she also heard a growl.

After preparing herself, she went downstairs but as she descended the stairs she saw a woman's back walking out of the mansion. Merely looking at her back Rainer could tell that she was beautiful, but who was she?

The maids informed Rainer that Kylan and the rest including Jasmine had gone out early that morning. So Rainer had her breakfast alone that morning.

Not wanting to stay Idol Rainer asked for a bow and arrow and began training herself. Both she and Tony always practice archery together and she was really good at it. She tested herself even more teasing to see how far she could shoot and still score a bird's eyes.

After testing her limit for hours, she went inside to have lunch, with the hope that Kylan would be back yet but he wasn't. That afternoon Rainer didn't have lunch, somehow, her hunger vanished into thin air, with her sandiness turning into anger. She went to the garden and began drawing whatever she saw, trying to get her mind off Kylan.

"Good afternoon wife,"

She heard that familiar voice that she had been missing all day from behind her, but she didn't bother answering, and just focused on her drawing.

Kylan sat next to Rainer who was busy drawing the small bridge, the small stream that passed under it, and the flowers that grew by the side. He was impressed by her drawing, and also proud that his wife could draw so well.

"Do you have something on your mind, that you want to tell me?" he asked,

Hearing this Rainer abruptly stopped drawing for a moment and then continued,

"No," she said not looking up,

" Okay," Kylan said leaning on the swing and began reading a book,

With that being said Rainer shut her book and glared at Kylan, wanting to say something but she stopped when she the book that Kylan was holding.

"Why are you with my spell book, I've been looking all over for it," Rainer lied, she didn't even know that spell book was missing.

But Kylan didn't respond to her, he just fixed his eyes on the book,

"Give me back my book," Rainer stretch her hand to Kylan, but he didn't move.

"No, I won't," he said,

"What do you mean, I thought you said you didn't have any problem with my spells,"

"I don't, that's why I'm not giving you back your book," Kylan said firmly,

"What?" Rainer asked looking up at him wanting clarification.

Seeing the puzzled look on her face he finally closed the book to answer her question,

"You can't cast spells without your spell book, right?" Rainer nodded to his question, "Good, but I think you can. Maybe when you're under pressure you would be able to cast a spell and from then you can be free from using spell books to cast a simple spell,"

"I don't know," Rainer said sounding unsure,

"I'll give you the book if you really need it,"

"What if you're not around when I need it, You're never around anyway, you don't tell me things," Rainer said, looking away, trying to hide the tears that threatened to fall.

But Kylan made her face him, by lifting her chin with his finger and gently wiping the lone tear that fell without her permission.

"Is that what this is all about Rainer?" he asked cleaning more of her tears.

His jaw clenched as he saw the tear that fell from her eyes, He would have killed anyone who dared hurt his mate but he was the one who did it.

"Rainer, they are a lot of things, that is there to know, I didn't want to dump all the information on you a few days if your arrival but I can't also keep you in the dark cause you need to know everything would begin to unfold by tomorrow," he said placing a gentle kiss on her nose,

"Why tomorrow?"

"We're going to the king's palace today, for a celebration and to settle some things," he explained.

"The king, you mean your father?" Rainer pointed out.

Kylan chuckled at her words, Rainer could see that his smile didn't meet his eyes.

"No, Rainer he's not my father," he said looking at the flowing river,

"We should start going, it's a long journey, and I heard that you didn't eat your lunch, wife, come let's eat,"

After Rainer and Kylan eat their meal, some maids helped her pack her things. She also met Jasmin for the first time that day, they exchange a few words and she also helped with the packing. Kylan was busy with other things with the four men she met last night,

Jasmine also informed her that the scorpions would be used there as a mode of transportation. Rainer was a little scared but also thrilled by the idea, she anticipation was rising by the minute, and she couldn't stop thinking how it would feel to ride a giant scorpion,

"Are you ready, wife?" Kylan asked hugging Rainer from behind,

Rainer had worn the silver cloak that Jasmine brought for her. She wasn't sure why she had to wear it but she liked it, it was soft on the skin and light to wear.

"Yes, I am," she replied, leaning her head on his chest.

"You seem excited," Kylan asked raising an eyebrow,

"Yes, I can't wait to ride the scorpion," Rainer said excitedly,

Kylan dimmed a little upon hearing her words.

"What's wrong?" Rainer asked noticing his sudden shift of mode,

"I don't want you riding the scorpion, why not ride me instead," Kylan said looking at Rainer with a mischievous glim in his eyes,

" if you can carry me throughout the journey then fine, haha," Raine said with a giggle, but Kylan just smiled at her before playfully pinching her cheeks,

"Let's go, wife,"

Kylan led Rainer outside where the rest were. She could see that the scorpions were now unchained and had moved further into the mansion.

Rainer felt Kylan's hand around her waist, he looked down at her, and Rainer couldn't help herself but smile back. She couldn't help but admire Kylan, as he spoke to the men, with authority, like a true leader.

Kylan lead Rainer towards the monsters, but despite her excitement, she still feared them, but with Kylan's arm around her waist her fear reduced,

The beast where had large, spike-like hairs on its legs with were used to get up to the concord stagecoach. It was more space on the inside. They were also comfortable seats installed on the stagecoach. Kylan pulled down the curtains at Rainer's side of the coach, leaving his open.

Rainer also noticed that no was no one riding the beast. The top of the concord was covered with a transparent material that allowed light to penetrate into the stage.

The sun was already going down toward the horizon, painting the sky a beautiful color of orange. The beast had already begun moving, making Rainer hold onto Kylan close.

Rainer's heart had began beaten fast not out of fear but of excitement. There was nothing much to see except sand but the experience was still beautiful.

Kylan could see the excitement and stars that shines in his mate's eyes. Her smile gave colors to his dull life, he wondered how he had left without his mate all along. But now he was glad that she was here in his arm, and he promised never to let her go.
