"Hahaha!" Busted out a peal of pearly laughter that slithered into my heart, "Taze you gotta be kidding right? This boy is barely over ten years old and a newly awakened superhuman at that. Do you really believe that we are going to take him seriously and let him go on a drill with any of our gangs? Be fucking for real." A playful yet seductive voice rang out throughout the room.
I looked up at the source of the voice and seeing the face of the person who spoke just now had me speechless.
She was so bad that it took all of my willpower not to get bricked up right now but I had to close my eyes and turn my head toward the floor again to get myself together.
But even then I still had a very clear picture of her appearance. Her smooth brown skin without the slightest blemish seemed at also glow, her sapphire eyes that shined like irreplaceable gems, and her curly black hair fell down her back. All that coupled with her black dress that emphasized her already amazing body easily made her the dream woman of many people.
Opening my eyes and raising my head back to look at her, "Have you ever heard not to judge a book by its cover?" I retorted.
Her eyes widened in surprise before she smiled in interest, "Oh, it seemed like we have one that's a talker as well huh? He may be fit to be my toy. That way he'll be able to have some purpose." She giggled as her eyes gleamed with unfiltered lust.
Before I could burst out in anger Taze jumped in, "I'm serious Kiana. If you don't want to give him a chance I'm sure one of the other four will. After all, even though you are a lieutenant of Murder Strip you're not the most desirable gang when it comes to recruitment. I heard that the ones who fail the recruitment process are forced into sexual slavery, not the best advertisement if you want to gain new members but that's just my take on it." He chided with a smile.
Kiana gritted her teeth in anger and crossed her arms, clearly stumped by the rebuttal of Taze leaving me to believe that what he just said about her gang was completely true.
Looks like we aren't joining Murder Strip. Actually, I'll try to stay as far away from those fiends as I possibly can. It seems money and power will still make people fall into depravity if they allow it to.
Circulating my energy through my body I brought myself back to my feet and walked to the side of Taze, showing these people that I wasn't the weak-minded mortal they probably initially thought I was when I first submitted to their auras.
"Even if we give this lil nigga a chance. He just doesn't have that much to bring to the table." Said a rough masculine voice.
I turned my attention to the man who just spoke. Dude was pretty swole, his muscles seemed that they were going to tear straight through his red suit, and he had dark skin with black hair and golden-blue eyes.
"Does that mean that you'll give him a chance Ezren?" Taze responded with a smile.
Ezren snorted yet smiled as he glanced at Taze, "You know that I never get involved with anything that leaves me with nothing to gain, I'm a betting man after all. So what will you offer me Taze to give this lil prospect of yours a chance."
"He's one of those huh?" I chimed in, "Based on his attitude he's gotta be the richest in the room right? What brand is that? The suit that you're rocking?"
Ezren surprisingly instead of ignoring me actually acknowledged me as he answered, "Bespoke, and it was personally tailored."
I nodded realizing that my guess of the brand was correct, "A personally tailored Bespoke suit usually goes for around eighty thousand astral dollars, and for a man of your size even if they give you a discount the price should still for sure be over a hundred grand."
Ezren shrugged, "So? I have enough money to pay it without suffering even the slightest dent in my pockets." He indifferently replied, "Are you going anywhere with this or you're just pocket-watching?"
"Based on all of this I can say that you manage your wealth wisely and value money over many other things, combine with your pretty clear gambling addiction I can say that you win if not profit from most of your bets." I began to break down, gaining the attention of everyone in the room, "The only way for you to be that successful in a world like this is one thing: you're one hundred percent certain that you will win every bet that you take part in."
"Your correct." He admitted without trying to deny it in the slightest, causing Kiana to gasp in shock. He then stood up and moved at speeds that seemed impossible due to his massive frame and appeared in front of me before Taze could even react.
He looked down on me, causing a massive pressure and intimidating factor to be brought upon me, "So how do you think I do it boy." he asked but seemed to be more of a command than anything else.
Refusing to fold I stood on my ten and responded effortlessly, "If you accept a bet that means that you've already won before the game even began. Whether you do that by having an inny or by scheming the entire bet way before it was proposed to you I don't know but one thing for sure is that I'm not one of those fools who don't know they're blindly walking into a trap." I said and walked past him, "We'll pass on the bet, for now at least. At some time in the future, I'm sure we'll have a bet with each other. Whether you'll be confident enough to accept it or not will be up to you."
The silence in the room was broken by the laughter of Taze, "Looks like $ex Money Murder won't be the gang you do your first drill for. Two down and only three left, I wonder who'll choose you, Dior. Seems like things are getting more interesting now."
