Chapter 3 - Superhuman I

"Don't give me that look, Dior." Lia explained sweetly as if she didn't do anything wrong, "It was always meant to be this way. When your masters no longer have any use for you your only fate is for you to be discarded."

While staring at Lia with a glare of dense killing intent I saw a shadow walk past me. When I removed my focus from Lia's smug face my anger only increased when I saw Gerard stand behind Lia with a fearful and guilty look plastered on his face.

I honestly couldn't believe what I was seeing. I really got set by this goofy?! Of all people, I got played by him?!

"You bastard." I growled with such hatred and rage that even Lia took a step back, not daring to get close, "You fucking coward, you betrayed me and set me up to die, and for what?"

Lia giggled and walked around Gerard in circles until she stopped and rubbed his face as she eyed him like meat, "He agreed to be my fuck toy. A satisfying fate for a person like him don't you agree." She said turning her attention back to me.

I hissed in pain and looked back at my shoulder, I don't know what she shot me with but it definitely wasn't a bullet. I needed to get help fast.

"Well I guess it doesn't matter, your pointless existence is about to end anyway." She mocked condescendingly.

She walked closer and crouched in front of me until our eyes were almost touching each other, it was very easy to get lost in those eyes but for me, I was looking at them in pure hatred. I wanted nothing more than to rip them out of her face.

"So, this is how it ends huh?" Lia asked as she put the gun under my chin. My body trembled and a chill raced down my spine feeling the cold, smooth steel.

Cold, Soft, and Comforting. The gun gave off the very meaning of death.

But I didn't break. I didn't cry or scream for mercy, it wasn't because I was putting on a front or trying to hide my fear, even though I really was scared it was more than just not wanting to give Lia the pleasure of seeing me break.

It was more. It was as if this confidence that wasn't found in me before was surging out now and was changing my entire perspective about everything entirely. It was like both my mind and body were telling me that despite the current situation everything would be fine and that I would get out of this completely fine.

In fact, my instincts told me that if I came out of this alive the rewards would be massive.

My eyes quickly turned to the briefcase that was on the ground next to Lia before turning my eyes back to her. She placed it down when she was coming up close to me, she didn't even tell Gerard to hold it. She was none the wiser as she probably thought I was frantically trying to find a way out of this.

Just wait Lia and Gerard. Once I come back, despair won't even be the word to describe what I'll put you both through.

Suddenly the door was slammed open and when I saw the smile that appeared on her face an uneasy feeling erupted in my stomach. I turned around and I felt my stomach drop to my ass as I saw the guards that had been chasing us this entire time walking towards us with stoic expressions on their faces, the complete opposite of the frantic and bloodthirsty looks they had before.

The leader of the group, the large man with the axe walked towards us, he walked past me and kneeled in front of Lia to my absolute shock, "Congratulations on your successful mission Captain."

Captain?

"You're...You're a Fed?" I asked, refusing to believe the truth that was plastered in front of me.

Lia smirked in disdain but nodded, "You were always quick to catch on Dior." She said before she waved her hand, "Kill this fool, I'm tired of looking at him." She commanded as if she was a queen giving a mere commoner the death sentence.

"As you wish Captain." The kneeling warrior replied in a monotone voice and stood up as he picked up his war hammer.

As he raised his hammer high in the air about to crush my head like an egg the hammer eclipsed the sun and the shade covered my face but I still smiled.

"Lia there's a crucial mistake that you made here today and I'm afraid that it will cost you so much that even a lifetime of regret would not be enough," I spoke serenely.

Lia, still confident that my death was set in stone, "Oh? Still defiant in the eyes of death huh?" She giggled amusingly, "And what crucial mistake was it that I made today?" She sarcastically asked.

I laughed inwardly but my exterior emotion was still the same, "You should've killed me yourself." I said grimly

Before she could respond or anybody else could react I launched my body and grabbed the briefcase. As soon as it was in my hands I swung it to my left hitting Lia dead in her jaw. He body hit the ground with a loud thud as she slipped into unconsciousness, blood leaking from the corner of her lips with her eyes rolled into the back of her head.

Not daring to stop, knowing that my death would be sealed if I did, I grabbed the gun that Lia dropped on the floor, and without the slightest hesitation, I turned around and pulled the trigger. My eyes were closed in fear since I knew that if I missed that shot I was dead.

Feeling the calm, cool breeze of the air and not the slightest pain I slowly opened my left eye to see what had happened. When I saw the aftermath my right eye opened instinctively in shock, the guard leader stood in front of me with a massive hole in his forehead with blood and brain matter scattered all over the ground. His dim and lifeless eyes opened in despair as his arms hung loosely by his sides with his right hand slowly losing his grip over his hammer.

He fell on his knees as his hammer hit the ground, causing strong vibrations that would've made me lose my footing if I wasn't so tense, and then fell face down. He was dead.

His second in command was the quickest to react as he pulled out his gun and pointed it at me, "Kill him!" He howled in rage.

I turned around and ran towards the ledge without hesitation and when I got there I looked down but I didn't like what I was seeing.

I wasn't scared of heights but the height of this drop would scare anybody and the fact that there was only water below didn't make things any better. When you fall from a certain height hitting the water is no different from hitting concrete, there was a reason why the Golden Gate Bridge was formerly number two on the places where people go to commit suicide.

A/N: It's a fact, look it up. I don't know if it's still number two but it was when I looked it up in 8th grade.

"Well, you only live once. It's either I take the chance here or die now."

Taking a deep breath I took a few steps back to get a run-up and right when I jumped I felt three more stinging bullets in my back.

"Argh!"

My body was flipping through the air and I could see the blood that was flowing out of my back in the air as well but before I could even turn back down to see how close I was to the water my vision faded to black with me still holding the briefcase tightly in my hand.
