Perhaps Alexandre inherited that powerful power from his father – Nicholas – who is known as one of the most powerful Seven Gods of War. That title was awarded in the final exam of seven years at Liam Patrick. His father's course was probably the best one because, in all these years, there has not been a single young talent who could pass that score, not even one. Therefore, the most powerful Seven Gods of War title has remained unchanged for ten years. The father of the Dhara twins, Mr Dylan, was Nicholas's classmate, and he was also one of the Seven Gods of War. The professors must so much expect these kids at Liam Patrick, and they also seem arrogant when their father is always honoured by the Landcaster.
"Who is that?" Helen pointed to the iconic Landcaster car coming from the foothills toward their mansion. The crowd all stared at the car. The gate, nearly three meters high, black, rusted creaking, opened automatically like magic. An older adult wearing a clean coat came out of the villa as if welcoming a particular car.
"Who is visiting, Dad?" Helios looked at the man and asked. Everyone was waiting for an answer, but that man just put his index finger to his lips without even looking at them.
The car slowly moved inside, and then it stopped in front of the house owner. The car door slid open, and Mr Althelstan stepped forward, his falcon cane landing in front of his shoe.
"A long way, Professor?" The house owner spread his arms wide, smiling brightly, welcoming the principal respectfully.
"Not bad!" Sir Athelstan smoothed the hem of his tailcoat and looked back into the car, gesturing with a beckoning hand to Selena to get out now.
"Good morning sir." With her petite body, Little Selena quickly got out of the cramped car. It nodded to the host. The five of them inside started whispering, especially those two girls, Helen and Doris; as soon as they saw Selena come out, they put their hands over their mouths and whispered something, obviously for high school girls. It could not be worse for some pretty girl to show up and take the spotlight. Only Alexandre's eyes looked at her strangely, eyebrows slightly raised, not exactly annoyed but more surprised.
"You are too different, Selene." The house owner approached it, put his hands on its thin shoulders and shook it. He is similar to Althestan in that he calls it "Selene" instead of "Selena". She was confused because she could not remember where she had met this uncle.
"Surely, Lady Smith did not tell you about having an uncle named Gideon Whiteley?" Mr Althelstan asked him as if giving the answer to the landlord delicately and intelligently.
"That is right… She does not like Bellatore blood at all. Sadly, she discriminates against her blood…" The landlord frowned and turned to Mr Althelstan with sympathetic eyes.
The house owner took a few steps back, turned to his little niece, who was making a puzzled face and said: "I am your father's biological brother. Whiteley. Gideon Whiteley." He nodded and introduced himself to his niece he had not seen in decades, "Welcome back to our pure Whiteley family, Selene Whiteley." Uncle Gideon clasped his hands in front of his chest and said softly while smiling a gentle smile to greet Selena.
"Yes… Indeed, Aunt Alina did not tell me anything about you… I salute you… Nevertheless, I am Selena. Not Selene, Sir." Selena raised her hand to scratch her head, squinting her eyes in embarrassment and surprise.
Uncle Gideon heard Selena speak and turned to Mr Althelstan in surprise with an expression as if he had been so confused by age that he had forgotten his grandson's name, but Mr Althelstan's reply was only meaning and bowing in heavy breathing.
"Cool. They are cousins again!" The white-haired Dorisa nudged Helen's shoulder and smirked; this girl did not seem to welcome Selena's arrival simply because Selena was prettier than them and also had teary amber eyes that made people melt.
"Pretty, isn't it?" Helios stared at Selena, then crossed his arms over his chest and grinned at Derek beside him; Derek just nodded in agreement without a comment.
However, Alexander's silence was not as usual; his ice-cold expression seemed to be trying to hide the strange turmoil in his heart; that is right, who has not had to be fifteen or sixteen years old fluttered before a pure but mysterious girl. Nevertheless, what caused this quiet teenager to permanently hide his feelings, even a mere vibration that he did not want to show?
Uncle Gideon led Selena over to the children and introduced them to each of them by name. That all of them had been living together at his house for weeks this summer.
Alex was an orphan, and the twins lost their father, their mother was also friends for ten years, so the children grew up together like that. Selena felt no pressure for the first time when she thought she was the only one orphaned. For a moment, she thought maybe she would get along with these kids quickly when little Helen shrugs coldly and walks off into the house, seemingly not expecting Selena's presence.
Uncle Gideon sighed and told her not to mind because he had spoiled her since she was a child, so she was stubborn. Mr Althelstan whispered something to Uncle Gideon, then got back in his car and drove off.
Uncle Gideon took Selena inside and told him there were five more days until school, so he should stay here for the time being to get used to the environment in Landcaster before he had to start a difficult journey. Helios was eager to help her with her things, and he walked side by side with this new sister-in-law. Derek and Alexandre walked slowly behind; Alexandre's eyes could not help but focus on the pure Selena girl.
Selena stepped into the vast mansion, and she was overwhelmed; she had never seen with her own eyes the inside of a large house with mysterious beauty like this. She looked up at the high vaulted ceiling, and there were red silk curtains, even a ceiling lamp more giant than he was floating, a ceiling lamp floating to be exact. With his narrow room, little Selena suddenly remembered Sloane Street; she was a little dizzy from driving a long distance and witnessing many magical things here. Selena still wondered if she was dreaming or not.
Uncle Gideon told the kids to take Selena up to her room, and Doris looked Selena in the eye and wiggled her finger up as if telling her to follow. The stairs split into two in the great hall, and the upstairs hallway shimmered in the light and golden candles. Selena lowered her head and walked slowly up the precious wooden stairs, remembering the creaking sound in the little house on Sloane Street when his aunt stomped her foot.
"You have been homesick just now, red-hair?" Eldest brother Helios reached out and touched Selena's back shoulder, startling her. Selena just smiled softly, she was always embarrassed when so many people showed up at once, and she had to live with those people for many years to come.
"Maybe it is not as good as Landcaster in London; I have never been there." Derek took a few steps up the stairs from behind, leaning over to ask Selena with an expression of naive curiosity and an acquaintance question that could not be worse.
"Um… There are also a few minor similarities…" Selena had not really gotten out of the way from Sloane Street to school and gone to buy cigarettes for her aunt, and she had only just started to "rise" on Landcaster a few hours ago; how can it compare two places this large. Little Doris keeps grinning and rolling her eyes to show that she is as allergic to Selena as that peanut butter her mother compliments on delicious.
"This. Choose one." Doris pointed to two or three empty rooms, so long the corridor. Selena chose a room at the end, and suddenly the door opened automatically. The dark inside immediately lit up like the induction lights in her middle school. Selena froze for a few seconds, then took the big suitcase and a few steps inside.
"Also, know how to choose the truth." Doris pouted because the room Selena just chose accidentally was right next to Helios' room. Helios is the type of boy that high school girls all love – handsome and warm.
"If you need anything, just call me." Helios echoed.
"I am right over here; just come over if you need anything, Selena!" Derek also peeked outside.
Selena said yes, and then she watched the backs of the others leaving and sighed, her thin shoulders drooping as if she had carried an invisible pressure stone just now. Selena really needs a quiet moment like this more than ever. He needed to be alone to piece together everything from morning to now so that his little brain would not explode trying to understand new spells and uncles.
