Eziekal POV
"Are you alright??" I asked my woman only to receive silence as a answer that was when I know she is not okay and my guess was right and I couldn't bear her silence.
So I asked again " Love, are you alright?"
"....."
Only to be met with silence again only for me to growl " Raine?" and I heard the voice that I was hoping to hear but I wished I didnt at that moment as it came as nothing but a mere whimper that broke my heart into pieces because of the agony and pain her mere whimper held and the fact I couldn't hold her now.
"Breathe in and breathe out Innie" I repeated a few times to get her to calm down and talk to me and it happened, only to hear words that would crash my world and turn it upside down and the words that showed me she is broke in ways that she doesn't know how to repair herself and at that moment I hated her father, her entire family and everyone responsible for this situation with every fiber of my body with that sentence alone " I want everything to end Ezie" and I know what each word meant and these are the words that I never wanted to listen to ever again in my life after that fateful incident of her but I couldn't think about it at least for now so I spoke to her.
Ezie- "Innie, I am waiting for you to come back home"
Raine - "Even I want to - but" and I know the words that she would utter next but before she could complete I spoke " No buts Innie, you are coming back and I will be waiting for you at airport" just as I completed my sentence I heard the announcement for her boarding, so I told her once again " I am waiting for you back home, promise you will come back" before she cut the call saying " I promise, I will" which put my mind at ease because she never goes back on her words.
I couldn't stay in the bed anymore after the conversation so I decided to start my day early by going to gym and went through some papers before it was time to see her at the airport, only see because her parents don't know about our relationship and a car will come to pick her up as per her father's order unlike other times as her parents got a jist of what all she is doing with her life and they would want answers for everything.
I went to the airport and waited in the airport lounge waiting for her to arrive but I didn't expect her sister to be there to pick her up and that moment our suspicion about Innie's sister being different was confirmed which made be more cautious around her though she would not notice even a small change in my behavior, but what I didn't expect was my women to hug me even though she noticed her sister. But all I could focus on were the tears that were falling from her amber eyes that was soaking my shirt which made me feel like my skin burning as though each drop felt like acid dripping drop by drop on my body though they were just tears.
I hugged her tight and sat on one of the lounge sofas with her in my lap whispering soothing promises to comfort her only for her tears to convert to sobs and small whimpers which felt like I was slashed with a sharp knife on my chest. It took her like half an hour to lift her head to look at me which made me so angry I was ready to burn down her entire family for the sole reason of making my woman this vulnerable and hurt.
After another 20minutes of comforting her with long hugs which she likes the most she broke free from me and gave another shock for the day " Ezie" she called " Yes love".
To which she responded with " I am going to meet my parents and I want to introduce you as my lover, will you come with me?".
To tell I was happy was a understatement because I have been waiting to show them their place for treating my woman like that and take her way from them and not let them anywhere near her so that they could hurt her.
So obviously I said " Yes Innie, we can go now" and she added another sentence hearing my yes which took me directly to heaven itself " Ezie, do you think mom, dad, granny, granpy, Annika and Aiden will be able to come to my parents place to ask my hand in our marriage today?".
Though I know the answer of my family will be Yes because they wanted to do that a year ago only and they did not only because they respected her but I asked her again to confirm " Are you sure Innie, because there is no going back once you are mine" to which she told " I was yours from the moment you laid your eyes on me" which brought a smile to my face.
I relectantly let my assistant who is none other than my brother in law Aiden hold her so that I could call my family and ask them to come to her parents place to ask her hand in our marriage.
