"If you love me, I will sacrifice my life to make you happy," said Rosie to Reiner five years ago.
Right now, on December 28, 2017, at 11 p.m., Reiner still remembers that sentence perfectly.
Reiner Kristiansen, 35 years old, returned home crying. He just found out the truth that had been hidden from him all this time. He just revealed the misunderstanding that separated him from Rosie. He just realized what a big sin he had committed.
After arriving home, he hastily opened his house's door and called out Rosie's name. Maja Roxelana Pettersen, nicknamed Rosie by Reiner, 25 years old, Reiner's fragile and frail wife. She was not at the dinner table. She used to wait for Reiner at the dinner table. Reiner found the meal Rosie had prepared for him. It's cold under the hood.
On that downpouring night, an evil husband who is filled with regrets is trying to find his wife in every corner of the house.
"Rosie, honey, I'm home. I brought you a gift," said Reiner.
After searching all the rooms in their house, even under the bed, Rosie was nowhere to be found. Reiner believes Rosie ran away from home (because she did run away from home before). Outside the house, lightning flashed and the rain poured down harder. The doors of the neighboring houses were already closed tightly, and the night had reached its peak of darkness. Reiner is very worried about Rosie. He called the police to help him find his wife.
Rosie ran away from home a few months ago. She ran away because she accidentally torn Reiner's shirt. She was very afraid that Reiner would be angry and beat her again. Reiner said many times that he would never raise his hand and hurt Rosie, but still, the woman was very afraid of Reiner's anger.
At that time, Reiner tried to find Rosie alone on the dark, rainy night. That night, the lights went out. He only had a flashlight and two umbrellas. He found Rosie three hours after searching, but he found her wounded. Reiner found her on the main road, 300 meters from their house. She was unconscious, lying helpless in the rain. Her left arm was pierced by a tree branch, and there was a long gash on it.
For this second escape, Reiner thinks it would be wiser if he asked the police for help, hoping that his beloved wife would be found sooner and in good condition.
"My wife ran away from home. She has dementia," Reiner said to the police who came to his house:
They went looking while Reiner sat at the dinner table, waiting for his beloved wife to come home.
poor and fragile Rosie, at such a young age, was already suffering from dementia and mental retardation due to damage in several parts of her brain. She was born normal, but the brain injury she got in her 20s left her disabled. Now, she is the perfect combination of madness, depression, dementia, and mental retardation. The beautiful woman is semi-demented and often does not even recognize her husband. Her mind is stuck at certain times. She often went into tantrums for no apparent reason, looking for her twin baby girl, who died two years ago. Sometimes she acts hyperactively like an 8-year-old child. Sometimes she sits quietly all day, staring at their yard. Sometimes she cries and laughs to herself. Sometimes she acts like a wild teenage girl. "The prince of my dreams," she once said about Reiner, "whose hair is as yellow as lemons and eyes are as blue as the ocean."
Reiner loved Rosie to death. It didn't matter that Rosie couldn't carry out her duties as a wife anymore. Rosie's beauty has diminished drastically, but Reiner has not stopped loving her. Rosie can no longer cook Tiramisu or sing to him before bed, but Reiner still loves her.
With great patience, Reiner cared for her and loved her completely. He was never bothered or irritated by her behavior, no matter how strange and absurd it was. Reiner bathes her, cleans her body thoroughly, dresses her warmly, combs her hair, and sometimes feeds her. If Rosie urinates on the sofa, Reiner cleans it up wholeheartedly. If Rosie's face was covered with chocolate ice cream, Reiner cleaned her face with a happy smile on his handsome face. If Rosie suddenly threw a tantrum and screamed and howled, Reiner patiently calmed her down. That's how much Reiner loves Rosie.
He plans to move to Oklahoma. New house. the new atmosphere and new life for both of them. He wanted Rosie to forget all the bad memories that happened in the house they live in now. Reiner also bought travel tickets for himself and Rosie. Previously, Rosie wanted to visit her father's birthplace. a beautiful country with waveless beaches, reindeer, meadows, houses made of red walls, and flower-covered mountains. The country truly exists and is not only in Rosie's imagination. Rosie's father came from that country. Reiner and Rosie called it "the promised wonderland" because Reiner promised to take Rosie to visit the country.
"Maybe I have grandparents and nephews there," said Rosie.
"I hope they are all beautiful like you."
"Of course. I look exactly like my father, like a twin. When I arrive, they will immediately recognize me as a relative."
It was a time before they got married. Reiner does whatever it takes to win Rosie's heart, including promising her a visit to her father's hometown.
The promise was half fulfilled. Reiner had bought a tour ticket to Norway's Lotofen Island, a place that most closely matched Rosie's description of the "promised wonderland." Reiner had given them the tour tickets tonight as a gift for their fifth wedding anniversary, but Rosie ran away from home instead.
Reiner couldn't stop staring at the window. When he saw the two tour tickets, he burst into tears.
"I'll take you there, Rose. We'll be going next week. Not tonight. For tonight, I want to apologize to you," said Reiner.
Amid her limitations, there is a period where Rosie manages to remember Reiner and their love story perfectly. Rosie sat on Reiner's lap. She smiled sweetly and said,
"I remember, Reiner. There used to be a fine restaurant in my hometown. I never dreamed of setting foot in it, but you asked me to come in and bought me the most expensive food there. I remember you beating up the guy who stole my first kiss. I remember you putting on this light blue scarf while asking me to close my eyes. I remember the wedding ring you gave me is a pearl ring. I recall you promising that we would spend 99 years together, living happily and healthily. You call me Rosie when everyone calls me Maya. You saved my life and my virginity. You're going to marry me. You love me. Then, everything changed. You're tired of me. You love other women who are prettier and smarter. Paula..."
Reiner immediately placed his index finger on Rosie's lips.
"That's not true, honey. There's never been another woman besides you."
As soon as Reiner removed his index finger from Rosie's lips, Rosie continued:
"You loved Paula. You brought her into our house. You made love to her in front of me. You became violent and beat me a lot. You injured me. Your slaps always made my nose bleed. You then left when I was pregnant. You had a new girl. You don't love me anymore. I can never make you happy anyway."
Reiner shook his head.
"The truth is not like that, Rose. I only love you. I know I have disabused your trust, but would you believe one more thing from me?" Reiner said.
Rosie nodded.
"You are the only good thing left in my life. My soulmate. All I want right now is your health and happiness. So, I beg you to please forget the past and focus on your health."

Four hours after they began searching, the police appeared at Reiner's house. However, they did not bring Rosie; however, they brought Reiner some bad news. A significant amount of blood was found near Alamanda Lake (the lake near Reiner-Rosie's house). The blood was Rosie's blood. Fingers and eyelids were also found. They have been proven in the laboratory to be pieces of
poor Rosie's body. They (cops) also discovered Rosie's light blue scarf, which she was wearing when she went missing, caught in a tree branch near the blood.
"Then? My wife? Where is she? Is she in the hospital? Say she's alive." said, Reiner
