A week later after the Zenin meeting. Loud applause and screams could be heard echoing through a dense forest on a hot sunny day. Inside the dense forest was a cube-shaped arena made of stone. Surrounded by hundreds of ongoing watchers.
The Zenin tournament has begun. Five matches have already been held. Maki could be seen watching an ongoing look fight with a bored look on her face. She was getting slightly irritated. Being born with little cursed energy made getting selected by the Zenin clan more difficult.
Maki has her tiny arms crossed tapping her left arm with her index finger. She watches as the competition ends and a winner is announced.
" Zenin Naoya, with an overwhelming victory. "
Yelled out an announcer. Naoya stood cockily next to an unconscious little girl. He glanced over at Maki before grinning. Maki smacked her lips watching Naoya walk down a set of stone stairs that exit off the stage.
When Maki stared at Naoya walking down the stairs. She noticed someone blending into the crowd perfectly leaning on an oak tree. It was the boy. She had heard nothing about. He had his arms crossed with a bored look.
Maki always wanted to get close to the boy to figure out who he was. Maki starts walking towards the boy catching his attention, surprising him. Maki slipped through the crowd of people until a loud voice roared out.
" Maki Zenin, please come to the stage! "
Maki glanced over towards the announcer on the stage before looking back at the boy but to her surprise, he had completely disappeared. Maki stared at the tree he was next to in shock until she snapped back to reality and started walking towards the stairs.
Maki couldn't believe that the boy had moved so fast. She stepped onto the stage and stared at a scrawny boy with a buzzcut and a cocky smile. The boy was holding a machete with a razor-sharp edge.
The crowd stared at Maki with displeased faces. The crowd started to glance at each other before whispering to each other, gossiping.
" I heard that the girl has little to no curse energy. This fight is going to be one-sided. "
Murmured a balding man wearing a white robe. Veins started to pop out of Maki's forehead as she heard the man until she took a deep breath to calm herself down. Maki kept calm until the boy spoke.
" Lucky me, I get to fight a girl. "
Said the boy with a grin on his face. Maki's face grows outraged as the announcer waves his hand in a downward motion signaling the start of the match. Maki leans forward as the muscles on the front of her legs bulge.
She dashed forward cracking the stone floor under her. A gulf of wind engulfed the boy's face morphing his face from the force. Maki appears behind him, throwing a lightning-fast punch.
The boy narrowly shuffles his feet spinning around and blocking the punch with his machete. The force of the punch ripples into the boy's arms causing them to shake rapidly. He grits his teeth in pain until a loud sudden noise enters his ears.
A loud crack is heard as the punch snaps the machete in half causing the punch to slam into the boy's chest sending him hurling through the air until his body crashes onto the stone floor face first. Blood starts leaking out of his mouth as he pushes off the floor using both hands. He slowly starts to stand up until a shadow engulfs his body catching him off guard.
" Do you know why I didn't bring a weapon to this fight? "
Says Maki standing over the boy with her leg high in the air. The boy stared at her leg in shock as his legs started to shake.
" Because I knew, I didn't need one. "
Wind hit the boy's shoulder until a mighty axe kick slammed into his shoulder dislocating it as a loud pop echoed out. The crowd looked in shock as the boy grabbed onto his shoulder before the intense pain caused him to pass out and drop onto the ground unconscious
The crowd stared at Maki in shock. As she looked at them with a cocky look in her eyes...
A couple of hundreds of feet away from the arena, Mute could be seen walking through the forest with a phone down to his waist. On the phone, two massive words could be seen.
" Request Accepted "...
