Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: The Unfinished Task

```
The changes in light and shadow made him dizzy, but Tang Lin once again traveled to the Different World.
This time, he didn't appear in steep mountains but instead found himself in a forest. Tang Lin descended in his Giant form, standing almost two hundred meters tall, and the forest only reached up to his ankles.
Tang Lin was careful not to move recklessly, afraid of accidentally stepping on someone and killing them.
Summoned to this world by Magneto, Tang Lin felt his heart sink. To him, the Marvel World was a trap. With black tech, superpowers, and magic, any random superhero could instantly defeat him. Plus, with such a big target, it was impossible to hide.
The only weapons Tang Lin had to protect himself with were a toilet brush and an enamel cup for brushing teeth, which he held in his hands before crossing over.
But he didn't see any sign of the Infinity Gauntlet or any Avengers members; everything around him was deathly silent.
Looking down, Tang Lin saw the forest littered with bodies, and Magneto, who had summoned him, was holding the bodies of his wife and daughter while looking at Tang Lin with a shocked expression.
Magneto's wife and daughter had been pierced by an arrow and seemed to have completely lost any signs of life.
Tang Lin noticed his eyesight had improved; he could clearly see Magneto's expression and confirmed that this was the younger version of Magneto.
That meant he had arrived in the new X-Men world, where most Avengers members should still be kids.
He relaxed a bit, thankful he didn't have to fight the Avengers. Unfortunately, he had only seen "X-Men: First Class" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past" and couldn't match this scene with any known storyline or timeline.
Seeing the ground covered in bodies gave Tang Lin a feeling that something was amiss. Had he arrived too late, after the battle had ended? Could the delay have been due to a toilet brush? Was the toilet brush and enamel cup some kind of Divine Artifact?
These were metaphysical questions for Tang Lin, who couldn't see anything special about the two pieces of equipment aside from them being new.
Setting these supposed Divine Artifacts aside, Tang Lin crouched down as slowly as he could, but still generated a gust of wind that forced Magneto to squint his eyes.
Taking out his phone, preparing for a translation app, Tang Lin finally spoke, "How can I help you?"
Magneto seemed to snap out of his grief and shock, said something to Tang Lin, which was hard to make out.
From his emotional expression and his firm grip on his wife and daughter's bodies, Tang Lin could guess that he wanted him to bring his family back to life.
Tang Lin felt a bit helpless; he had some experience helping in fights but knew that bringing the dead back would require him to use Wish Power to buy the Resurrection Technique.
The system shouldn't issue tasks that can't be completed, or so he thought! Who knew if the system's designer was logical? Even if it was, what if there was a bug, or if the author retracted it?
Tang Lin now felt there was a bug with the system. With no resurrection Skill, he couldn't revive the dead, so completing the task seemed impossible.
Magneto seemed to have placed all his hope in this suddenly appeared Mummy Giant. Since the Giant was summoned from a wish related to life and death, resurrection should be the logical conclusion.
However, the Magic Wand in Egyptian mythology didn't quite match the hard bristle brush and cup grasped by this Mummy Giant. Maybe it was a visual issue.
Unsure of what the cost of reviving the dead should be, Magneto contemplated offering others' souls or even his own if necessary.
Tang Lin worked hard to devise a solution. In this X-Men world with Power Users aplenty, that should be the avenue to explore. However, purely within the movie world, there seemed to be no power capable of reviving the dead.
How to save those who'd already died? Unless Tang Lin could alter the past. As soon as the idea sparked, Tang Lin had a plan.
Tang Lin decided to calm Magneto first, since his Giant body moved sluggishly. Even if he had an idea, he'd have to rely on Magneto to execute it, and only a calmed down Magneto could do so.
After some thought and checking his phone, Tang Lin said to Magneto, "Resurrection, possible."
Hearing this, Magneto perked up.
"However, it requires time and a price," Tang Lin spoke as slowly as he could, worried speaking too fast might injure Magneto's ears or that his pronunciation would be off.
But to Magneto, it sounded strangely fitting, as booming was how an Egyptian Mummy Giant should speak; a perfect London accent would be bizarre.
"How long will it take, and what is the cost?" Magneto continued to question.
"Time, uncertain, maybe a month, maybe, twenty years."
"Why such a large gap? And what is the cost?" Magneto asked.
A month was acceptable, but twenty years was too long.
Tang Lin wasn't just making things up; changing history required finding two key people, Wolverine and Shadowcat.
Shadowcat could send someone's consciousness back to their past self, but the longer the time span, the more severe the resulting brain damage.
Therefore, Wolverine, the Mutant capable of regeneration, would be necessary for long-term consciousness transmission.
But in 2004, Shadowcat was about sixteen, just beginning to develop her powers, and it was now the 1980s.
Tang Lin certainly didn't plan to spend twenty years in this world; without even a change of clothes, he'd rather recover from his injuries fully and then reveal the plan to Magneto.
Whether this would complete the task was something Tang Lin couldn't worry about; at worst, he'd abandon the task and escape.
Just as Tang Lin was about to explain to Magneto, he heard the sound of rotor blades. Turning his head, he saw two armed helicopters flying towards him.
Although Tang Lin had landed in a forest, his size made him visible from a kilometer away. Plus, the disturbance caused by Magneto's summoning had inevitably attracted official notice.
Though each helicopter was only as big as half of Tang Lin's finger, it was Tang Lin's first encounter with modern weaponry. These armed helicopters were equipped with machine guns and rockets, and he had no idea what kind of damage they could cause.
Tang Lin stood up abruptly, gripping the toilet brush tightly, as it was his only weapon against the enemy. Unexpectedly, when he stood, his body created a vortex that soared into the sky, dispersing the clouds.
Previously, Tang Lin had noticed that his gigantic body didn't feel slow. Every movement seemed to tear through the air and break the sound barrier. This created wind gusts that caused the two helicopters to shake violently, as if they were about to crash.
At this moment, a light swipe with the brush could destroy the two helicopters.
But Tang Lin lowered his "weapon," reached out with both hands, and carefully grasped the landing gear of the two helicopters.
