Chereads / What Is It Like To Be Summoned As A Giant / Chapter 11 - Mission Impossible

Chapter 11 - Mission Impossible

The light and shadow kept shifting and he felt dizzy. Tang Lin had transmigrated to another world again.

This time, he did not appear in the mountains. Instead, he came to a forest. Tang Lin still descended in the form of a giant. He was nearly 200 meters tall, and the forest in front of him only came up to his ankles.

Tang Lin did not move this time, worried that he would accidentally stomp someone to death.

Tang Lin was freaking out about being summoned to this world by Magneto. In his opinion, the Marvel Universe was a trap. With black technology, superpowers, and magic, any superhero could kill him within seconds. Moreover, he was such a big target that he couldn't dodge even if he wanted to.

The only weapons that Tang Lin could protect himself with were a toilet brush and an enamel cup used for brushing teeth, items he grabbed just before he transmigrated.

In the end, he didn't meet Thanos getting ready to snap his fingers. None of the members of the Avengers alliance appeared either. The surroundings were as peaceful as death.

Tang Lin looked down and saw corpses all over the forest. Magneto, who had summoned Tang Lin, was holding his wife and daughter's bodies, looking at him in shock.

Magneto's wife and daughter had been shot by an arrow. It seemed like they had completely lost their vital signs.

Tang Lin realized that his eyesight had improved. He could see Magneto's expression now. He also confirmed that the person in front of him was a younger version of Magneto.

That meant he had entered the world of the new version of the X-Men. Most of the members of the Avengers Alliance in this version should still be children.

He instantly relaxed a little. At the very least, he wasn't going to fight the Avengers Alliance. Unfortunately, he had only seen X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past. The scene in front of him didn't seem to match the plots he knew. He didn't know what time period it was.

Moreover, Tang Lin felt that something was wrong when he saw the corpses all over the ground. Was the battle already over because he was late? Why was there such a huge delay just because he had to grab a toilet brush? Could it be that this toilet brush and porcelain cup were some kind of super device?

Who am I? Where am I? What am I going to do? No matter how Tang Lin looked at the two pieces of equipment in his hands, he couldn't see anything special about it, apart from the fact that they were new.

Tang Lin put the suspected super device aside and tried his best to squat down slowly. However, he still caused a gust of wind, which made it hard for Magneto to keep his eyes open.

Tang Lin took out his cell phone and got the voice translation function ready before saying, "How can I help you?"

Magneto, who seemed to have just recovered from the shock and grief, said something to Tang Lin, but it was inaudible.

However, looking at his agitated expression and the way he hugged his wife and daughter's bodies tightly, Tang Lin could roughly guess that he was asking him to save his family.

Tang Lin was a little at a loss. He had some experience if he were asked to help fight a battle. But to be asked to revive the dead, that would have to wait till he had used Wish Power points to redeem resurrection powers.

The system would not issue missions that could not be completed… As if! Who knew if the designer of this system had sound logic? Even if it were so, what if there was a bug? What if the author was haphazard in developing the plot?

Tang Lin felt that there was a bug in the system. He did not have any resurrection skills, so how could he revive the dead? There was no way to complete the mission.

Magneto seemed to have pinned all his hopes on this mummy giant that had suddenly appeared in front of him. Since it was a giant that he had summoned from the heavens, and since he came in the form of a mummy — which had significance to life and death — it was only natural for him to revive the dead.

However, the staff in Egyptian mythology seemed to be a little different from the items that this giant mummy was holding. Why did it look like a hard brush and a cup? Perhaps it was a visual issue.

He didn't know what the price of resurrecting the dead was. If he had to use someone else's soul as a substitute, he would go kill two people. Even if he had to offer his own soul, Magneto wouldn't hesitate.

Tang Lin tried very hard to think of a solution to the problem. This was the world of the X-Men. There were all kinds of superhumans, so he should start from this aspect. However, in the movie world alone, it seemed that there was no ability to resurrect the dead.

How could he save a dead person? Unless Tang Lin could change the past. As soon as this thought appeared, Tang Lin had an idea.

Tang Lin decided to pacify Magneto first. After all, it was hard to maneuver his giant body. So even if he thought of a solution, he would have to rely on Magneto to execute it. And Magneto could only do so if he had calmed down.

After thinking for a moment, he checked his cell phone and said to Magneto, "Resurrect, sure."

Upon hearing this, Magneto perked up.

"However, it requires time and comes at a price." Tang Lin tried his best to speak word by word, mainly because he was afraid that if he spoke too quickly, the sound waves would make Magneto's ears bleed. He was also worried that his pronunciation would be inaccurate.

However, to Magneto, it sounded right. A giant Egyptian mummy should cause vibrations when he spoke. It would be strange if he spoke with a fluent London accent.

"How long will it take, and what's the price?" Magneto continued to ask.

"Time. I'm not sure. Maybe a month, maybe, twenty years."

"Why is there such a huge difference? And what's the price?" Magneto asked.

One month was fine, but twenty years was too long.

It was not that Tang Lin was spouting nonsense. If he wanted to change history, he needed to find two key figures. One was Wolverine, and the other was Kitty Pryde.

Kitty Pryde could transmit a person's consciousness to his past self, but the longer the time span, the more serious the brain damage would be.

Therefore, he had to find Wolverine, a mutated human who could heal himself, to be able to teleport his consciousness for a long time.

However, Kitty Pryde was about 16 years old in 2004. It was a little girl who had just begun to develop her abilities. It was the 1980s now.

Of course, Tang Lin didn't plan to stay in this world for 20 years. He couldn't even have a change of clothes in this lousy place. Tang Lin only wanted to wait here until his injuries were completely healed before telling Magneto about this method to change the past.

As for whether this was considered completing the mission, Tang Lin couldn't care less. At most, he would give up the mission and flee.

Tang Lin was about to explain the issue Magneto was facing when he heard the sound of propellers. He turned around and saw two assault helicopters flying toward him.

Although Tang Lin had descended into a forest, with this size, he could probably be seen from a kilometer away. Coupled with the trouble caused by Magneto before he descended, it was only normal for the officials to discover him.

Although a helicopter was only half the size of Tang Lin's finger, this was the first time Tang Lin had faced modern weapons. These assault helicopters were equipped with machine guns and rockets. He did not know how much damage they could cause.

Tang Lin suddenly stood up and grabbed the toilet brush in his hand. This was the only weapon he could use against his enemies. He did not expect that the moment he stood up, his body would stir up a hurricane which gushed up into the sky, and blew away the clouds.

Previously, Tang Lin had discovered that his huge body did not seem to be sluggish. With a raise of his arm or leg, he could tear through the air and break the sound barrier. The hurricane caused the two helicopters to shake violently, as if they were about to fall.

At this moment, Tang Lin could destroy the two helicopters with a light flick of his brush.

But Tang Lin put down his "weapon", and reached out with both hands to carefully grab the landing gears of the two helicopters.
