The following day, after class, Rain and Allen met up as agreed. Then, they both left the school and waited for a while until a black Van came and carried them.
Inside the Van, Allen kept his eyes closed while Rain would occasionally glance at him and then look away. She had some thoughts in her head and she didn't know how she was going to come about it.
"Hey, if you keep looking at me like that, I'll be forced to eat you," Allen muttered to her with his eyes still closed.
Rain gulped as a result of what he said, she didn't know if he meant another thing but those words were enough to incite her feelings.
"D-do you mean what you've just said?" She asked him.
"I mean every word that comes out of my mouth," Allen replied. She looked away and smiled, Allen opened his eyes and looked at her, seeing that she was smiling, he scoffed inwardly. ' Only a matter of time, and you'll be gone truly ' he thought in his head.
Soon, they arrived at a big mansion with a garden of flowers surrounding it. The Van stopped at the front of the big black gate and the two kids came down from it.
"So this is it?" Allen asked her as they approached the black gate.
"Yes, this is my house," Rain replied and halted as soon as they got to the gate.
"What is the matter?" Allen turned and asked her.
"It's nothing..." She replied and paused. Allen looked at her and noticed that she was slightly afraid but he could not figure out why. "Never mind, let's just go in," she said after a sigh and pushed open the gate.
"Welcome Miss Rain," a bodyguard at the gate greeted her as they stepped into the compound full of beautiful flowers.
"Thanks," she replied and proceeded to go inside the house.
"Why did she suddenly come back home?" The bodyguard mumbled to himself as he watched them leave. "And with a different kid this time around, it'll still end up the same way as before," he added with a sigh. Unknown to him, the kid he was talking about had heard him loud and clear.
As Rain and Allen entered the house, they were met with a full family of five sitting around the long table —there was only one chair empty which seemed to be her space. Seeing her, everyone stopped what they were doing and began to stare at her, even the maids also stopped to look at her.
"Father, Mother," she greeted the old couples with a bow.
"What are you doing here?" The old lady snapped at her immediately. "Didn't we tell you not to come back here until you agree to marry him?" She asked. Everyone could see the anger and hatred in her eyes as she glared at Rain.
"You guys did but I told you I can't marry someone I don't love," Rain replied.
"What nonsense!" The old lady yelled in anger. "Love? Who are you to love? Your marriage with young Master Lucifer has been set already and you can't run away from it, do you hear me?" She yelled at Rain.
"Mother!" Rain yelled as tears began to gather in her eyes. "Mother, why do you always treat me like this? I'm your child, why do you hate me so much?" Rain asked. The tears in her eyes began to fall like streams.
"Mother, that's enough—"
"You, just shut up!" The lady angrily said to the young man by her right side, not allowing him to complete his sentence. "She is going to marry the young Master, even if it's over her dead body," she said, glaring hatefully at Rain.
Allen who was watching everything that was happening right before his eyes couldn't help but feel irritated. Is this what her families were like? Was this why she looked scared earlier? Was this why the bodyguard said what he said? All these were ridiculous. He gazed at the old man who hadn't said a word since, his silence alone was pricking him — Why does he let the woman talk and curse at his daughter without doing anything about it? Is he a man at all?
"What are you still doing there? Get out of this House and don't come back here unless you've made up your mind!" The old lady yelled to Rain.
"Let's leave," Rain said to Allen and turned to leave but the latter scoffed and walked to the table, ignoring her totally. "Allen, what are you doing?" She asked him. She was stunned as she saw him walking to the table without fear.
"These people didn't notice my presence, I'm going to make myself known to them once and for all," he replied to her and faced the angry-faced woman and the stunned family members. There were a total of five people sitting around the table — The couple, a little girl who is younger than Rain, an elder son, and a younger one, who seemed to be the same age as the little girl. He turned and faced them, staring at each of them in the eyes.
"Who the hell are you and what is your business here?" The old lady asked him coldly.
"I said I'm going to make myself known to you so what is the rush?" Allen asked the old lady with a scoff.
"You—"
"I have a story to share and I want you all to listen," Allen interrupted the old lady, not allowing her to say whatever she wanted to.
"Who do you think you are that you'll —"
"Shut up old woman and listen!" Allen's eyes flickered as he ordered the woman to shut up. Surprisingly to everyone, the old lady stopped talking and kept quiet.
"Mother? Mother?" The elder son called her but she didn't respond to him.
"What have you done to our mother?" The little girl asked Allen with a scared look on her face.
"I made her stop talking," Allen replied to her and then sat down on the empty chair. "I want you all to listen to my story and I wish that no one interrupts me or else I won't forgive that person," he said to all of them surrounding the table. Seeing how quiet they were, he cleared his throat and began his story. "There was this boy —"
"Master, here is the —" Just as he began to talk, a maid walked into the dining from the kitchen, she was carrying a plate of food but just as she was about to drop the food on the table, he got up angrily and rushed at her. He grabbed her by the neck and pushed her backward until he slammed her onto the wall of the house, the thing that followed next was the sound of a cracking bone. "I said no one should interrupt me!" He growled and walked back to where he was sitting down. As he sat down back, he glanced at everyone and they still had their eyes on the unmoving body of the maid. "Come on, look at me will you!" He slammed his fist on the table and they all abruptly turned to look at him. "Now, where did I stop? Someone, remind me, please," he requested and gazed at each of them, one after the other.
"Th-there was this boy... This is where you stopped," the elder son replied to him.
"Okay. There was this innocent boy who was loved by his parents after his birth. Growing up as a baby, he never lacked anything — Love, food, care, attention... he never lacked anything at all and he was made to believe that life was as simple as he had seen until one day, everything changed. The once lovely parent became total strangers, and the once happy home became a hunted place for him. He no longer had peace, he became a subject of mockery and ridicule. His parents would beat him for any little mistake, strip him, deprive him of food for many days, and would still punish him and yet, he refused to hate them. Every day, this innocent boy would pray and hope that things would return to normal but the more he hoped, the more things became worse. Out of more hatred for him, his parents brought in another child and loved him like theirs while their only son was suffering daily. One day, something happened and the boy couldn't take it again, after being beaten up by his dear parents, he left the house and headed for the roads. There, he lay and waited for his death but instead of dying, he opened his eyes and saw himself in a strange world. He rose and began his journey of life again and soon, he found himself a lovely family who cared and loved him like their own but what happened? While he was away, monsters came into the village and wiped out the entire people, including his new family. Again, he is left with no one to love and care for him. Isn't fate cruel...?" He asked and paused.
Seeing how they were all staring at him with tears in their eyes, he sighed and shook his head. "I didn't ask for your tears but your ears. A loving family is the only thing a child would ask from his/her parents and yet...!" He said and slammed his fist on the table with a different aura now surrounding him, "And yet, you all deprive her of it? What are you? Fools or what? Listen, let me make something clear to you, she's not going to marry anyone she doesn't like and if peradventure you do something stupid to her, I swear on my life, this family will seize to exist. Don't say I didn't warn you!"
