Autumn's POV
Axel had fallen asleep in Reece's arm. We step into the house. We walk through the unfamiliar hallways to me in utter silence. I'm behind Reece, while he strokes Axel's hair as she sleeps peacefully.
We get to a hallway leading to three rooms upstairs. Two at the side and one at the center.
"Why are you so silent?" I finally break the silence. Reece doesn't respond. He opens the room at the left side.
"Why are you so silent?" Reece returns my question unexpectedly. He looks back at me with an unnecessary smirk before stepping into the room.
He switches on the light, then carefully places Axel on the bed. The pastel babyish colours and decoration of the room easily tells me this is her room.
I watch from where I stand outside the bedroom door as Reece tucks in Axel into her bed. Reece places a kiss on her forehead. A smile taints my lips at the sight, it makes my heart warm.
