Chapter 263 - Chapter 263: Mothers (10)

Maple POV

Leilah, who was checking the study room, perked up all of a sudden. She got this alert expression on her face.

"What's wrong?"

"I don't know, but something feels wrong." she replied "It's Perseus' related, did he meet another woman...?"

"You know, I've spent years studying you and still can't understand how you can do this."

"It's natural, you mark a man, and then now that he's become your property, anything wrong will send a signal to your head and alerts you, you're a goddess, you should be able to do that."

That's the point, sis, I'm a goddess, and such things are impossible for me despite me being superior in every way, my senses are better, my magic is better, and yet the things you do makes me question whether I really am a goddess.

I get that Perseus has a lot of scent on him, but I am really curious about how she can sniff things that I can't, it's like Leilah's the goddess and not me.

This house, it's smaller than our other one, but despite that, it doesn't feel as empty, as the other house...well, the roses don't stay there often, our parents can extend their range, so they can travel the world without having to stay near their rose.

They were always out, and rarely did we have any activity together with everyone in the house...in a way, this old house reminded me of the current Silver household, with a lot of family members gathering all the time and having a lot of family activities.

Though...it won't be like that for long, Perseus would want a house of his own, and even if his new home is close by, their current home will start to feel empty...if I marry him, I'll have to make sure to invite his parents over often.

"Surprise hug." a female voice said as a pair of arms wrapped around me.

I turned to see that it was Ivy.

"You're as cold as ever." she commented

"Oh, am I that bad of a mother?"

"No...I meant it temperature-wise." she replied

"Then would you prefer to hug your father? He's quite warm."

"It'll be weird, he's my age." she replied as she took her hands off "I'd love to, after all, I have only 1 dad in comparison to a lot of moms, so it's easy to get a hug from a mom while it's harder to monopolize Dad, but for now, you will do."

"Well, I am cold due to me being a goddess of autumn."

"If you can, please try to get Dad for your own. I want to be in the middle when you 2 sleep." she requested

"Well, I can, he still owes me 2 dates, I can just use that to get him for myself for a night."

"Hey, if you're scheming, don't do it when I'm in the room." Leilah interjected.

Perseus POV

What the hell is this ring that flew to my ring finger?! I can't take it off for some reason. It's a gold-colored ring with no gems on it, it's just a small golden band wrapped around my ring finger, very simplistic, but that's not the point.

"Oh, that's the ring I made for Jerah." Ghost Dawn said and hold a hand to her mouth to cover her smile "To think that you 2 were like that...I should have given you a much more warm welcome."

I then see Ruka rushing into the room with a silver ring.

"Why you of all people?" Ruka muttered

"Hey, do I look like I want this ring? Hey, Dawn, I thought you said I can take this off."

I hate a lot of jewelry, why? They're simply a waste of money.

I get that they represent some symbols and all that shit, but no one can convince me otherwise that jewelry being that expensive is justified.

It's nothing but an overpriced scam, a mere ploy to drain people's wallets and inflate their egos. I just can't wrap my head around why anyone would willingly spend a fortune on a piece of metal or a colorful stone. It's all so pretentious and unnecessary.

People wear these things as if they define their worth or status. It's such a shallow way to judge someone's character, and that's coming from a guy who has to always narrate his thoughts to some people he never met and judge someone without it ever being a secret.

What happened to valuing people for who they are, rather than what they wear?

And let's not forget the manipulative marketing tactics employed by jewelry companies. They make it seem like owning their pieces is a symbol of love, commitment, or heck, in some cases, success.

But really, it's just a clever way to make people believe they need these objects to feel validated. It's absurd how they can get away with manipulating people's weaknesses and desires.

But when I do it, it's scamming or fraud, if they can advertise these false narratives, why can't I be a Nigerian prince?

Uhh...there's also money laundering and conspiracy...|

Oh shut the hell up, you lonely bastard.

I have friends, and some of them are your readers.|

Oh, so you have friends who haven't touched any grass in the past century. bird of a feather really does flock together.

"So why did this ring choose me?!" Ruka asked "He and I are not a couple."

"Oh, so you now just got exposed for your secret feelings for each other, huh, awkward." Mark mumbled

"Well, we do find each other attractive."

"And you 2 live in the same house." Terrence chimed in

Buddy then use mana and materialize it into words.

'And you 2 have slept on the same bed on many occasions.'

"Leilah's gonna kill me." Ruka said in defeat while holding her head "Alright Mom, tell me how I can permanently remove this and give this to Leilah?"

"Ruka and Leilah?" Ghost Dawn then whistled "I don't know what the original would think, there seems to be a pattern of you aiming for my daughters."
