On the balcony overlooking the greenhouse garden, Officer Liu was still on his one knee looking up towards Giana, waiting for her answer for his proposal.
Giana was too shocked by the sudden revelation by Officer Liu. Her mind was short circuit, making her unable to respond to Officer Liu.
Deafening silence surrounded them, and Officer Liu's heart drummed wildly. He waited for Giana's answer. But the prolonged silence made a dreadful thought seeping into his mind.
'Is she rejecting me? That's why she doesn't say anything?' asked Officer Liu in his mind.
Officer Liu felt heartbroken, however instead of showing a crestfallen face to Giana, he just smiled, "Is it a 'No'? I understand if that's the case. I know I'm not a manly man like the other officers. You must not like someone who looks like a girl, and weak like me," said Officer Liu, and rose from his kneeling position.
