"I am deeply ashamed to admit that...I have failed." Erland reported with a bow and a shameful face, looking down at the ground. The time was evening and the fires in the palace were about to be lit.
As Athena stood up from her throne, the palace was illuminated with the light of the torches all over. She walked towards Erland, slowly, making his sweat drip out of his body out of fear.
"Lift your head." said Athena with a stern tone.
Erland lifted his head silently, expecting a slap from Athena. But instead, he got her harsh glare, filled with a calmness.
"You held back." Athena's eyebrows furrowed.
"I am ashamed for it, Lord Athena...I have tried."
"Hmph." She walked around with her hands held behind. "Good. If you had said 'my best', you would have had your head blown. At least you are careful with your words..." She opened her palm and hinted up, ordering Erland to stop bowing.
