Chapter 61 - Chapter 61: Market Place

Jana and her group had spent an entire day getting ready for their looting mission. They had carefully inspected their weapons, packed their supplies, and made sure everyone was fit and prepared for the trip. They had also studied the map and planned their route. Finally, they set off towards the next town, driving their vehicles through the ruined roads and avoiding the obstacles of wrecked cars and debris.

They had expected to reach the town in a day, but they encountered some delays and difficulties along the way. They had to deal with some zombies, and roadblocks that slowed them down. They also had to conserve their fuel and ammo, as they were running low on both because of the horde that attacked them too. They had to make some stops to scavenge for more resources, but they found little of value.

After two days of travel, they finally arrived near the town. They hoped to find some food and ammo there, as well as some other useful items. They had heard that the town was small and quiet, and that it had not been looted much. They thought it would be an easy target.

But as they approached the entrance of the town, they saw a horde of zombies blocking their way. There were hundreds of them, roaming and moaning, looking for prey. Jana quickly realized that they could not fight their way through the horde. It was too risky and costly. She decided to change their course and go around the horde, hoping to find another way into the town.

They drove their vehicles to the side, trying to avoid the attention of the zombies. They followed the perimeter of the town, looking for a gap or a breach in the fence. They found none. The town was surrounded by a high and sturdy fence, with no signs of damage or entry. It seemed like someone had fortified the town, making it hard to access.

They continued to circle the town, until they reached the opposite side of the entrance. There, they saw another horde of zombies, smaller but still formidable. They also saw some blood and bodies on the ground, indicating that there had been a fight recently. Jana wondered who had fought the zombies, and why.

She decided to take a chance and try to break through the smaller horde. She figured that it was their only option, since they could not go back or wait any longer. They needed to get into the town and find some supplies, or they would starve and die.

She ordered her group to get ready for combat. They grabbed their melee weapons, such as machetes, axes, and crowbars. They also checked their guns, but they had very few bullets left. They decided to save them for emergencies, and rely on their melee weapons instead.

They got out of their vehicles, and formed a line. They charged at the horde, shouting and swinging their weapons. They hacked and slashed at the zombies, trying to clear a path. They fought with courage and skill, but they also suffered some injuries and losses. Some of their people were bitten or scratched by the zombies, and they had to be left behind or killed.

After hours of fierce fighting, they finally managed to break through the horde. They ran towards the fence, hoping to find a way in. They saw a gate, but it was locked and chained. They tried to force it open, but it was too strong. They looked for another opening, but they found none.

They were trapped. They had zombies behind them, and a fence in front of them. They had nowhere to go.

They panicked. They screamed. They prayed.

They heard a gunshot. They turned around, and saw a man standing on a rooftop. He was holding a sniper rifle, and he had a smirk on his face. He was aiming at them.

They couldn't recognized him. "Were you the btch that fcking killed my sister!?" He shouted he was the one who had looted the town, and set up the trap. "What!? Sister!? Who the fck are even are you!?" Kisse shouted

The zombies are getting closer Amidst the chaos, the man on the rooftop ignored Kisse's furious question, his focus solely on the group trapped between the fence and the approaching zombie horde. Jana, now realizing the gravity of the situation, shouted at the man, "We don't want trouble! We just need supplies! Please, let us in!"

The man remained silent, his cold eyes fixed on the group. He seemed to be calculating, evaluating whether to give in to mercy or let them succumb to the impending doom.

The zombies drew nearer, their moans and groans echoing in the tense air. The group could feel the desperation intensifying. Jana's mind raced, searching for a way out of this dire predicament.

Kisse, driven by anger and frustration, couldn't hold back any longer. He lunged at the locked gate, desperately trying to force it open. "Open this damn gate! We won't forget this betrayal!" he yelled at the man on the rooftop.

The man remained unmoved, maintaining his vantage point. Suddenly, another voice pierced through the turmoil. "Enough!" It was Garp, his stern voice cutting through the panic. "We need a plan, not chaos. Find cover, and be ready for anything."

Jana quickly assessed their surroundings. The fence was too high to climb, and the gate remained unyielding. The only option was to take cover behind some abandoned cars and debris scattered nearby.

As they huddled behind makeshift barricades, the man on the rooftop spoke again, his voice echoing with a sinister tone, "You should've stayed away. This town is mine now, and I don't share."

Jana, maintaining a level head, tried to negotiate. "We don't want to take your town. We just need supplies. We can work together."

The man chuckled, a mocking sound that sent shivers down their spines. "Work together? In this world? You're all fools."

Just as the tension reached its peak, a sudden explosion echoed through the air. Smoke billowed from a nearby building, drawing the attention of both the trapped group and the man on the rooftop. In the chaos, a group of armed survivors emerged from the smoke, creating a diversion for Jana's group to escape.

Seizing the opportunity, Jana shouted, "Now! Move!" The group sprinted towards the opening created by the diversion, leaving the man on the rooftop fuming.
