The man on the roof was not alone. He had several comrades with him, dressed in black suits and nice attires. They looked like they belonged to a different world, a world before the apocalypse. They were well trained and well armed, and they easily killed the other group that was trying to raid them.
"Young master! Please, it's dangerous there, get down!" A man shouted from below, urging the man on the roof to descend. He was worried about his safety, as he was exposed to the zombies and the enemies.
"Tch" the man on the roof said, and did as he was told. He grabbed his binoculars and looked at Jana's group. He saw them struggling and panicking, surrounded by zombies and bullets. He also noticed a weird man, a man who was using a prosthetic leg to run with the help of a woman. It was Kisse and Garp.
"Why do you always ruin the fun?" the man on the roof said after he got down. He was annoyed by the interruption, as he was enjoying the sight of his revenge. "Young master, please take this more seriously. This isn't the world we used to live in" another man said, scolding him for his recklessness. He was one of his loyal subordinates, who followed him everywhere.
"Young master, it seems that those people don't have anything to do with young master's sister" a man using a binocular said, reporting his observation. He was another one of his subordinates, who was in charge of scouting and intelligence.
"Oh? Why did you say so?" the man on the roof asked, curious about his statement.
"That man who shouted earlier was Garp, I know him, he was one of the guards who was guarding an important person" the man using a binocular said, revealing his background.
"Oh? You talk too highly of him, aren't you?" the man on the roof said, mocking him for his praise.
"That's because the important person he was guarding is someone more important than your father" the man using a binocular said, dropping a bombshell.
"You dare" the man on the roof said, angry and offended by his words.
"Young master, I don't mean to offend your father, but the person I'm talking about is Mr. (Censored)" the man using a binocular said, clarifying his identity.
"Oh, I see I'll let this slide if it was 'him'. That person is far, far higher than us" the man on the roof said, acknowledging his authority.
"Yeah, since he's that person's guard, he should also know about your sister and you. That's why it's impossible for him to hurt your sister, since your father has a connection with 'that man'. So we should leave them alone" the man using a binocular said, suggesting a course of action.
"Hmp! Let's go then, it seems like fortifying this place was a waste of time" the man on the roof said, agreeing to his suggestion. He was disappointed by the outcome, as he had hoped to find his sister or her kidnappers. He had spent a lot of time and resources to set up the trap, but it had failed to lure them.
He and his comrades left the town, leaving behind the corpses and the chaos. They drove away in their luxury cars, heading to their secret base. They did not care about the zombies or the survivors, they only cared about their own agenda. They had a hidden motive, a dark secret, and a powerful ally. They were a threat to everyone, especially to Souta and his group.
I was in the mountain base, overseeing the construction of our new shelter in the village. We had a construction going on in the village, after clearing out the zombies and securing the perimeter. It was a decent place, with enough rooms, water, and electricity. But it was not enough for our growing group. We needed more space, more supplies, more weapons.
That's why I had decided to lead a raid on the city's marketplace. It was a risky move, but I was confident that we could pull it off. I had Rex, scout the area and report back to me. He said that there was a weapon shop nearby, and that it looked promising. He also said that there were a lot of zombies, but that was to be expected.
I gathered the team in one of the room in the mansion, where we had set up a makeshift command center. There were about 25 of us, including some of the civilian recruits that we had trained everyone is busy looting other places as well, including some of the civilian recruits that we had trained. They were nervous, but eager to prove themselves. I looked at their faces, and felt a surge of pride. They had come a long way since we found them.
"Alright, listen up," I said, as I projected a map of the city on the wall. "This is our target: the weapon shop. It's located here, in the center of the marketplace. We'll split into two teams: Team A and Team B. Team A will go with me, and Team B will go with Rex. We'll enter the marketplace from different directions, and meet up at the weapon shop. Once we get there, we'll loot as much as we can, and then get out. If we have time, we'll also look for any other useful items or locations. Any questions?"
The team was silent, absorbing the information. Roger, raised his hand.
"The city, huh? Interesting choice," he said, with a hint of sarcasm. "Why not go for something easier, like a supermarket or a gas station?"
"Because we need weapons, Roger. And lots of them. The zombies are getting more aggressive, and we don't know what else is out there. We need to be prepared for anything. Besides, the city has more resources than any other place. It's worth the risk," I explained.
Roger nodded,
"Anyone else?" I asked.
No one spoke. They all seemed ready to go.
"Good. Then let's get moving. We'll leave tomorrow morning, at dawn. Pack your bags, and get some rest. We have a big day ahead of us," I said, ending the meeting.
