Chapter 25 - Making an Army

Allen, feeling happy having discovered wind being very powerful for wolves didn't hesitate to use another stone on a different summoning circle.

[Upgrade (Giant Wolf Summoning Circle) -> (Giant Wind Wolf Summoning Circle)]

[Yes]

Soon after another wind storm and a large flash of light ten giant wolves appeared outside! The Wolves all howled and as soon as they noticed Allen's tiny figure they all fell down with a *Bang* as they showed off their bellies as a sign of submission. Allen almost couldn't wait as he opened up the panel.

Seeing how powerful these wolves had become, Allen felt like he was on a roll and decided to go upgrade more things while he still had the chance. Upgrading the other simple wooden house a few times after adding an earth stone, giving Allen 2 upgraded stone houses.

Allen quickly realized the houses were very cheap to upgrade especially compared to the summoning circles. Even the recruit requirements of the wolves he had summoned were more than upgrading the house. Having so many materials and food on hand made the decision easy as he upgraded both houses to a 'Large Stone House' Still the upgrade requirements were few making the decision easy to upgrade the main house a few times.

Large Stone House->Upgraded Large Stone House-> Small Stone Mansion->Upgraded Small Stone Mansion->Stone Mansion->Upgraded Stone Mansion

It was only when the house reached the Upgraded Stone Mansion level did it become a bit too expensive to upgrade. It was only then that Allen moved back onto important things like summoning circles.

Currently, there was; 1 Earth stone, 19 Wind Stones, 1 Darkness Stone, and 1 Light Stone. Allen having set out a plan before this quickly upgraded the last human summoning circle with the light stone.

[Upgrade (Human Summoning Circle) -> (Human Light Mage Summoning Circle)]

[Yes]

Just as before a large flash of light appeared as the circle was upgraded, but this time the difference wasn't the light or the wind, instead, it was the feeling of everything around. A warm current seemed to flow through everything as if it was healing the world. Allen couldn't help but want to lie down and take a nap right then and there.

Unfortunately, after the upgrade, Allen was quickly put back to reality where the room was just a little warm and not the comforting warmth that could be felt from before. After hesitating for a while Allen summoned the mages making the room fill with the comforting warmth all over again.

After a while, the light didn't dissipate entirely and the warmth stayed there, but the mages all appeared in their white cloaks.

"Lord!"

Despite wanting to bask in this comforting light more, he still opened up the panel and got ready to see if there was anything special. besides the feeling that these mages gave off.

While he was checking the stats Allen realized the feeling of warmth slowly stopped much to his disappointment. Still, he knew the importance of what he had discovered.

"Healing mages! It is good to have you all! I would like you to talk with others and heal any wounds that anyone has. If you can't find any more wounded you can talk to Orion the Hunter. Just ask around and you should find who he is fairly quickly."

The mages all bowed to him before leaving to follow his orders. Allen on the other hand quickly opened up the trade channel and looked for light stones as it was what produced healers who could help any army greatly. Before this, he was very worried about not getting anyone who was a doctor, or anyone who had above basic knowledge of medicine.

The current price of light stones was 7,000 food at the minimum. Despite this Allen didn't hesitate to spend all his food reserves on three more stones. Seeing the price of stones rise crazily even more than before made Allen extremely worried that there was a limited amount of stones that would disappear and make it impossible to buy them later. So despite his hesitance to use all his food reserves on something that might not help him very soon, Allen didn't care and quickly bought everything he could with what limited supplies he had on hand.

Once again Allen stood before the Light Mage summoning circle with light stone in hand.

[Upgrade (Human Light Mage Summoning Circle) -> (Enhanced Human Light Mage Summoning Circle)]

[Yes]

Despite the strange lack of change in the circle, Allen once again upgraded the circle with a large flash of light. The warm feeling threatened to put Allen to sleep as the circle seemed to take longer than usual. Still, in truth, the upgrading didn't last long which prompted Allen to summon the Mages.

Despite wanting to pass out every moment he stood in front of the summoning circle, Allen stood still slapping his cheeks to keep himself awake. Soon enough the mages appeared in and quickly bowed to Allen.

[Blinding Light (E rank) -> Create a large flash of light that will blind all those to see it.]

For the first time, Allen felt truly disappointed at the change that an upgraded summoning circle has brought. Still, they had the same healing skill, so in reality, it made them more expensive healers. So despite his disappointment, Allen quickly sent them off with the same words as before.

Despite his sadness at the lack of better healing skills, Allen quickly pulled out another light stone while standing next to the light mage's summoning circle. Originally he had planned to buy another human summoning circle later after hunting the rest of the bears, but now knowing it was not worth it to upgrade twice Allen decided for once he would upgrade a summoning circle three times if possible.

[Upgrade (Enhanced Human Light Mage Summoning Circle) -> (Great Human Light Mage Summoning Circle)]

[Yes]

Allen this time having felt the power of light knew he would probably fall asleep if he stayed any longer and quickly left the room as the circle let out a powerful wave of comfortable light. Allen quickly closed the door of the mansion as he tried to control his grand desire to stay as close as possible as he falls asleep.

After doing a quick check he had enough supplies he summoned the mages while running out of the room. After a while, the waves of comfort slowly calmed down allowing Allen to enter the room once again. The mages were looking around very confused and just as quickly as Allen entered did they all seem to find their purpose in life as they bowed to him.

"Lord!"

Despite not increasing their healing abilities, this change allowed them to become even better at helping their allies. Allen on the other hand felt even more curiosity about what other changes could happen for other mages when they are upgraded. Still, without any more resources on hand, Allen could only ignore this curiosity and got everyone settled as he prepared himself mentally for hopefully the last attack on the bears.

Now that he had obtained such strong units he felt even more confident to attack the bears even if he didn't use Bestow. While he was happily daydreaming about what he would upgrade next after hunting the bears, Henry knocked on the door with a report.

Looking at his stats and the level-up that was coming soon, Allen almost couldn't wait the 4 hours until his skill refreshed. He even had two Wolves with the type 'Enhanced+' which was higher than the bear. At this thought he could no longer suppress his excitement and started preparing for another Plant Bear hunting trip.
