"Scoff, jealous and me? All I was interested in were your rumors, which ceased as soon as you two saw me." Squinting her eyes suspiciously, Clara said, "Tell me, Mr., what were you trying to do?" looking at Adrian.
Adrian looked away from her piercing gaze, his smile faltering.
"Ahem, what gossip are you talking about? Didn't she mention anything about my well-being to you?
Clara gave Adrian don't mess with me look and he immediately dragged her to the car.
Adrian opened the car door and let Clara in, saying, "She just wanted to know how I was doing."
Clara noticed Adrian was fidgeting, but despite the problem he had encountered the day before, she did not doubt him.
They quickly got into the car and headed to Emerson Mansion.
