Clara quickly averted her eyes from his calm yet piercing gaze and continued eating when all of a sudden she heard a loud bang on the table.
'Thud'
Startled by the sound, she looked up and saw Adrian getting up from the dining table and turning to leave.
Walking a few steps he stopped and turned his head towards Leo who stood at the side and said," Ask Anthony to drop Miss Clara home" his cold, deep voice instructed the old man.
"But sir-" Clara couldn't finish her words when he turned to face her and she gulped at the sight of his emotionless face.
"You don't have to wait until I fall asleep," he said and then turned to leave heading upstairs straight into his territory
Clara blinked her eyes and turned to look at Leo who was also stunned by the words that escaped from Adrian's mouth.
Fluttering his eyes, Leo slowly composed his thoughts and looked back at Clara, "Miss Clara let me know once you are done with the dinner. Until then, I will pass the young master's message to Anthony" politely saying Leo excused himself from there leaving Clara alone.
Once Leo was out of her sight, she heaved out a raspy breath that she held all this while. Her eyes then darted in the direction from where Adrian walked away.
Something about his abrupt behavior troubled her. The way his eyes blankly stared at her, she couldn't help but think if she upset him somehow. Buh when she recalled there was nothing she said was a lie.
She had her reason to stop eating it but why did he look so unhappy, she couldn't help but ponder.
Quickly finishing the dinner, Clara walked out of the house and saw Anthony already waiting for her. Hopping into the car, it soon drove them out of the property.
Adrian stood by the balcony from where he could see the car exiting the gates. His eyes that gazed blankly at her slowly fluttered turning a little gentle.
Something about this new Clara bothered him. The way her eye changed emotions when it came to him stirred the deepest emotion inside his heart, questioning himself what was the reason for her change.

Anthony dropped Clara to her apartment and watched her enter the huge building. Pulling out the phone from his pocket, he made a call to Adrian informing him about her safe drop, and after that, he drove back.
Stepping into her house Clara dropped her bag on the couch before she walked into the kitchen to fetch herself some water. She was so much in a hurry that she forgot to drink water before she left Adrian's place.
Gulping down a glass full of water she walked back to the living hall and heard her phone ring. Taking the phone out of her bag she answered the call.
"Did you get back home" came Abby's voice from the other side of the call.
Clara was so busy with her work, that she forgot to inform Abby about her first day at work.
"Yes, and very much drained. I can now understand how it feels to run behind your boss like a walking machine" Clara answered lazily but felt relaxed getting back into her peaceful apartment and slumped on the couch with her head resting back on the headrest.
"Hm... I can sense that in your tired voice. But you will slowly get used to it" Abby tried to cheer up her friend's distressed mood and heard her hum.
"By the way did you contact your friend who was going to help us find the person" Clara wanted to keep a check on whether Abby got any reply from her friend.
"No, his phone is still unreachable at the moment. But I am sure, once he is back I will tell him to help us" Abby assured making Clara relaxed. She could trust Abby on this because the girl never backed down on her words which was why she was still friends with her even after everyone turned their back on her.
"Sigh, I hope so, just so I can return to you all," Clara said as her eyes gleamed with sadness.
In these four years, she had never parted from them and now she found it hard to stay when her heart was constantly with them.
"Don't worry, I have everything under control. Just continue with your work and stop worrying about us. We both are good" Abby didn't want Clara to half-heartedly do her work keeping all her attention on them. It will only make her miss them even more.
"I haven't talked with him, Abby. I'm just worried, he doesn't push me for my negligence" She expressed her inner torment knowing how it can affect their relationship and she didn't want that to happen even in her dreams.
"You are stressing for no reason, Clara. I told you he isn't upset with you and is quite understanding, so calm down and concentrate on your work until my friend returns" Abby said enthusiastically cheering Clara's mood.
Smiling weakly, she continued talking with Abby and after some time ended the call.
Getting freshened up she lay on the bed recalling how an entire day went by. She had thought it would be an easy job of being someone's assistant but if someone is Adrian, then you have to take every step cautiously.
"Sigh, how I wish to turn back the time when I voluntarily applied at Skylar" Clara knew the job she had signed for wasn't going to be as simple as she had expected it to be.
Just one day and she had ended up upsetting her boss not once but thrice even though she could pinpoint the last one. But from tomorrow onwards, she had to make sure she didn't disappoint Adrian at any cost.
She had to carry on with her work without letting anyone point out her faults. With this thought, she closed her eyes and soon drifted to sleep.
The next day, Clara woke up as usual and got ready to leave for Adrian's house. As soon as she stepped out of the building her eyes popped out of her socket.
"What the-" She couldn't finish her sentence when she saw Anthony standing next to Adrian's car with a polite smile lingering on his face.
'What is he doing here' she thought and started walking towards him with a complex expression marred all over her face.
"Anthony! What are you doing here?" she inquired forcing a questionable smile and stood in front of him.
Anthony on the other hand had a complicated expression, smiled nervously, hesitant about how he should explain it to her.
"Miss C-Clara I...I" Before he could say a word, the backseat window slid down and a deep voice echoed from inside.
"We don't have an entire day, Anthony" Adrian's deadpan voice caught Clara's attention.
Like a bullet train, her eyes darted from Anthony toward the owner of the voice and her jaw dropped in disbelief.
'Don't tell me, he came to pick me'
