Clara sat on the chair trying to suppress the swirling emotions. She never thought Adrian would shout at her without knowing the reason. She was there to submit the report but he wronged her with a false accusation.
'Eavesdropping! Seriously did he find her that insensitive to listen to their conversation secretly?
"Huh!" she scoffed trying to calm her anger that kept building up every time his words rang in her mind.
'Get Lost' is what he said and shut the door in her face, embarrassing her in front of his employees who gave her a pitiful look.
THUD!!
Slamming her palm on the table, Clara stood up from the chair and sighed. Picking up the folder she composed herself and stepped out of the cabin with her chin high.
The employees who showed her pity were surprised to see her walking elegantly back to their boss's cabin.
"Does she want to get fired" one of the employees muttered staring at Clara with concern.
"She just wants to get insulted even more" The other one rolled her eyes but still was eager to know what was this new assistant up to.
Everyone knew how bad their boss's temper was. It wouldn't take him a second to fire her, so why was she risking her job?
Every pair of curious eyes watched the girl standing in front of the same cabin from where she was thrown out.
" She is surely courting death," the previous employee said and watched her knock on the door.
Clara stood in front of the door keeping her expression neutral and opened the door before stepping.
Everyone gasped watching her enter the lion's den fearlessly.

[Inside the Cabin]
Adrian was trying to calm himself after he found someone had stolen their entire plan and presented it to the client. They claim that it was their hard work and it was Skylar Corps who tried to snatch their ideas.
"Austin find who was behind this. I don't want to lose this deal we have been working on "
Adrian instructed Austin to look into the matter as soon as possible. It was something they could ignore after all they had been accused of stealing their plan by their rivals. And it would be a shame if he wouldn't be able to clear his name.
"Yes, boss," Austin said and was about to leave when someone knocked on the door. He stopped as his eyes looked at the door that slowly opened and his jaw dropped when he saw Clara stepping in.
Adrian raised his eyes to see Clara and his heart skipped a beat. After yelling at her, he thought she wouldn't show up but that unfading expression on her face as she entered inside made him frown.
Everyone here was scared to face his anger but this girl had the nerve to disagree with his words that she again came to make him upset.
"Miss Mathew" Austin mumbled slowly motioning her to stop but she ignored his warning and walked past him maintaining her straight face.
Adrian arched his brow watching Clara ignorant of Austin's warning and still walking toward his desk.
"These are the reports you ask for," she said placing the reports on the desk and then pulling out a rough strategy plan and keeping it next to the folder.
"And these are the points we should consider for our upcoming projects. Following the same old strategies will only decline our market value" she said with a plain tone and took a step back before meeting his amazed gaze.
Adrian had forgotten about the work he had asked Clara to do before he left for the meeting. Because of the unexpected news, Adrian forgot everything, and all his attention was drawn to think of that person who tried to backstab them by providing their entire plan to the rival company and ended up taking it out on Clara humiliating her in front of his employees.
His cold eyes fluttered as they softened a little and he looked out at the reports on the table before he reached his hand to pick them.
Adrian didn't know, she just stood there to report him with the work. Instead, he accused her of listening to their talks secretly.
Scanning his eyes through the reports, Adrian was amazed at how perfectly she had sorted everything and even stated the points that they needed to take care of if they had to reach their annual margin for the upcoming years.
Suddenly he started regretting his actions toward her but he was too adamant to show it on his face.
Composing his stirred emotions, Adrian looked up at her and nodded his head," Good job" he said plainly and placed the reports back on the table.
"After all it wasn't just the words you speak to get the job" he again brought up the same thing making her fume.
'Does he still doubt her capabilities' Clara felt like he was purposely mocking her assuming the words she said to get the jobs were just casual.
Keeping her thoughts to herself Clara waited for Adrian to speak further. She was expecting an apology from him since he mistook her visit for something else.
But even after a minute passed Adrian didn't utter a word and she raised her brow in surprise.
"Is there anything else you want to tell boss" she purposely voiced her words a little loud making Austin stand behind her choke.
This was the very first woman who seemed to look calm in front of the devil himself. No one till now had questioned the boss but this girl dared to do that.
Adrian was about to sit on his chair stopped and looked at Clara in confusion. Was he forgetting something? he thought as he processed his mind recalling if he had missed telling something to her.
As he stared at her, she raised her brow as if she were waiting for him to apologize to her for being rude to her a while back.
But he would never do that. She was just a mere assistant and he wasn't apologetic to her at all.
"No Miss Mathew, there isn't anything I have to say" With a polite smile Adrian took the seat.
'B-boss just s-smile' Austin who was already in denial about the things happening around him felt like he would faint at any moment.
The man who was void of showing any emotion just stretched his lips into a faint smile and at who, a woman... whom he hated so much.
Clare gritted her teeth and forced a smile trying hard to suppress her displeasure. 'This man had grown even ruder than before' Taking a deep breath she tried to calm her boiling blood.
Someone like Adrian would never change. Noting this mentally, Clara then looked at the time and said," It's time for your lunch" Her voice brought both Adrian's and Austin's attention to her, and with a polite smile she turned and walked out of the cabin leaving both the men speechless.
'Did she just smile at me' Adrian couldn't help but think.
