It's the day when the training commences, and sir Froil's filling us in on the details necessary for the training that would happen soon.
" So an entire week has passed with you dimwits on Sense already huh? I guess money does some wonders regardless of your brain power. " He laughs.
" Alright enough with that look in your eyes, I might pull them off if you look at me that much. " He teases sending shivers down the spine of everyone who heard him.
" Anyways as you all know by now, the class battle will happen about 3 weeks from now, meaning we'll have 3 more training not counting now. " Mr. Froil pulls out his bulletin board, changing his ever-so-crazy persona to a more professional one.
" With that being said, I'll fill you in with the details of this and also the following training right now. "
" As some of you might know already, with parents as rich and full of information as yours, the training would occur in Sector 43, the only sector that is purposely left uncivilized, due to its beneficial Lairs containing some perfect Inters for training. "
" And for people who don't know what Lairs are, they are the houses of Inters. It's where the environment suits them so well, that they reproduce unbelievably fast, you'd think they're rabbits. " He says while looking at me pointing out that I was the one who might not know about Lairs.
Well, It's a reasonable assumption, as I was a wanderer and all. It's not like he knows I know more than him, due to this being just a complex story.
" Anyways, this particular Lair, contains multiple Warrior+ Class Inters, mainly Kobolds. Everyone here will proceed to this said Lair, and pass through all the wandering Kobolds. Don't worry you could kill everything inside, as we already have a pair of parents to keep their population. " Mr. Froil says, as he points at a cargo truck releasing some loud screeching noises behind him.
" Though, killing all the kobolds wouldn't result in much, as the purpose for this training is to kill the Elite- Inter hiding inside the Lair. "
As Mr. Froil reveals the true objective of the training, many students suddenly exclaimed by the rank of the beast they were eliminating.
An Elite- monster?
" That wasn't what they did last year... A close associate of mine said they just went and hunt some kobolds. " The students started to chatter among themselves, as their worries started to increase from the sudden news.
The strongest of them all was ranked E+, incredibly way below the necessary strength to subdue an Elite- Inter, something that is supposed to be dealt with by multiple D-rank cadets.
" Hey, you're fighting five of this school's, no this whole world's most talented and strongest first years in about three weeks. If you're satisfied with hunting some dog then you can go ahead and say goodbye to winning. "
" Though, you'll be blessed with some support abilities as you go in so don't worry about dying. " He says reassuring the whole class with the news.
" You'll be killing a Kroligator, that's currently nesting inside the kobold's nest. "
A Kroligator...
Kroligators are lanky reptilians who have long legs but crawl on four of them. though they are relatively weak due to their, lanky bodies, they trade it off with some incredible assassination skills. They have a unique ability to copy the pheromones and scent released by other Inters, fooling unknowing victims to serve them and become his meal. As for those it can't mimic, It has extremely dark skin, making them good at camouflage, especially at night. The perfect beast for hunting and an inside job.
" So with that being said, let's head on out to the teleporters in the main hall, shall we? Those are extremely expensive so I'm guessing only a few of you have gone into one, but don't worry. It just feels like a bullet ant just bit every single part of your body, but we're Guardians, aren't we? How can you possibly headlock a dragon when a bullet ant bite scares you? " He laughs yet again, quite possibly trying to humor the class if I understand him enough. It only did the opposite of making them laugh though. As even I was scared, of how it'll feel like.
Teleportation... Something that's only possible in stories and movies, yet here I am about to travel a couple of hundred kilometers in the blink of a second.
...
" Alright now that we're here, assistant teacher Gerald here will go to the portal first. You all will soon follow, alphabetically of course. I'll be behind you all, so don't worry about any escapees. Keep in mind though, that once you go to the portal, you will all be strategically placed throughout the sector, and it's your strategy to do whatever after. " He laughs before making the class uncomfortable yet again.
" Keep in mind people, I won't base this shit on your authority or on your rankings. You can be a D class cadet for all I care, if a F rank does better than you, then you'll remain as a dispensable goon, while they become the strategist. With that in mind, whichever group or individuals do the best in this and the following trainings will become the representative for the class tournament. " He says even raising the nervousness surrounding everyone
Shit... even I'm nervous as hell. Though I do have a major reason as all my plans for this had been ruined. Though I did make a backup in case I become solo during this training, I didn't expect the reason to be something like this.
I can't just go to Reign and pretend like I was on his side from the start. I mean yeah I could do it convincingly as I do have the skills to do so, but then what. They'll be amused for like 2 minutes and then they'll just feed me to the Kroligator.
It's going to be almost impossible to pull it off, but I'll have to do it as an ally is something I don't have the benefit of having for this event.
As everyone starts to prepare to go on the teleport pad, I saw Rena who was standing opposite of me seemingly incredibly down, and unmotivated to even attend this thing at all.
And if I use my experience as an actor, that body language and expression lead me to some hypothesis. Seems like there's a big reason why I suddenly became a free agent. Even Jane and James don't seem to be talking to her at all, with a saddened expressions on their face. Her whole team for this training was also dispersed with some of them trying to stick up to Reign. Tsk, is she trying to have Reign win? Isn't winning this a necessary step for her future?
Regardless, whatever her reason for all of this it isn't my problem anymore.
Whoever wins the position of class president, won't matter at this point. I'd request for a shift to 1A, once I win the class tournament.
" Mon Weise, please step on the teleporter. "
But before that, I should try my best to remain in this training alive, as I know that Kroligator wouldn't be the only one I should be watching...
