Damn, that felt weird...
I've finally managed to experience one of the things that I could only wonder about in the real world.
Teleportation was quite weird... Though it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, I also can't say that it was pleasant.
It felt like I was being zapped by incredibly weak electricity in every part of my body. I've experienced static before, but it was only on one body part. Not exactly from head to toe. It didn't hurt though, so that was good. Being an E+ Guardian might've helped a bit, so stepping on one of these as a normal human, doesn't sound like the best idea.
Anyways, I've finally arrived at Sector 43. The ambiance was sad and dull, mainly due to the many ruined buildings surrounding me. It was like I'm in a grave cemetery, It was honestly unsettling. To see the buildings that should normally be full of people are currently so mossy, dark, and full of ripped items and trash.
What a sight to see...
I'm guessing this is downtown, due to the massive buildings surrounding the area, and the asphalt road connecting every section of the place. There are a lot of broken billboards still somehow hanging on the ruined buildings, and even some collapsed resting on the top of a broken car.
There were many ripped clothing scattered around, but no human remains so far. I mean Sense probably cleared it, as human bones wouldn't really be a good sight to see...
I have no information about this place, as in the story, despite the pillars also training somewhere downtown, they train at Sector 45, a whole sector away from us. I know what would transpire in that place, but I have no clue what would happen in this.
But as I knew 1A's would take place in a big city, I did make up a few plans in case something like this would happen. So it wasn't all that useless.
Anyways, I should hide from the main street and escape the vision of not only the kobolds but Reign's side as well. As much as I want to move as far away as possible, there was a restrictive border keeping us in a relatively small and specific area. Don't get me wrong it was still massive, as the tall skyscrapers were something we're allowed to go into. But going into one was asking for defeat, as that's simply wasting time.
Regardless, we've all spawned in the Lair of the Kobolds so there's no problem in finding them. I can see multiple of them roaming the road already from the second floor of a broken building.
I want to start killing some so I could start racking up my points, but my ability doesn't really let me do that. I could maybe kill five of them if I put my elixir-boosted rank into play and brute force into everything, but that's just asking for death. They're Warrior- Inters, and it takes one E-rank guardian to kill one with ease. An E+ like me could handle a kobold like I'm playing with a 5-year-old, but these guys are social beings. Or basically, Inters who move in a group and hunt in a group. And I've watched enough wildlife documentaries for me to know how hunting in groups affects a hunt on something bigger than the predators.
They can hold weapons and is an incredible threat to someone who doesn't know how to handle any weapons. My martial arts are useless against these as my arts were made to beat up a human, not a humanoid dog.
There are about seven of them roaming around, probably on guard duty, and I'm guessing there are hundreds of them scattered around this district, and maybe thousands in their actual home.
Which should be somewhere among these buildings. Not sure which building yet.
" Is there any information yet on where this Lair is located at? "
Oh, would you look at that?
Reign and some of his team seem to have found each other already.
They were currently inside the building just next to where I was hiding at.
" Yep, I sent that dog Kim to his friends. HAHAHAHA. They tied him up and directly brought him to their Lair. " They suddenly laugh out loud while talking about sacrificing someone to the kobolds.
Though it's not like he would die, as the moment his life is in danger, he'll be instantly teleported back to Sense, and fail the training.
But wasn't Kim someone on Rena's side? Did they manage to find him before he managed to join her group?
" Damn you sick bastard. "
" Anyways, where is it? "
" I'll tell you later, There might be someone hiding here listening to us, and I'm not comfortable staying at this place. As some rat... " He says with a sudden pause...
Shit...
Boom!
The wall where I was standing suddenly exploded.
" What the hell are you doing?! "
" Hmm... I thought I felt something wrong... " He says.
What the... How did he sense me? Thankfully I managed to pick up the sudden change in his voice.
Is he the one I'm looking for? The hidden factor?
Regardless, there were a lot of them in that area so I decided to leave in an instant. I couldn't have that happening again, as I was lucky I managed to catch the sudden shift in the way he spoke.
Seems like I'd have to find the Lair myself. I mean it's not like it's hard to find the place, but it would've been better if someone just told me.
Let's just have their family lead the way instead.
" Yo " I shout to about six kobolds standing rest on the opposite end of the alleyway I was at.
Krrr...
They seemed to have noticed me as they suddenly raised their spears ready to head towards my direction.
" You're gonna bite or just bark all the time? "
Krrr!
They seemed to have realized I was mocking them as they rushed towards me with all their might.
"It works every time doesn't it "
Due to the narrowness of the alleyway, they were forced to run toward me in a straight line, causing their advantage in numbers to crumble instantly.
With that being said, the moment the first kobold arrive at my location, I grabbed the tip of the spear and soon grasped his face shoving it hard to the wall next to us.
Thud!
A loud crack escaped its head and it soon fell to the ground lifeless.
[ Fear ]
" Then shall I ask you to bring your allies? Or I'll drag your lifeless body to them? "
K...krr.k!
As their friend collapse on the ground, I used my ability to increase the fear factor I inflicted, causing them to run away from me.
Now I just have to follow them as they run away from me, to the safety of their base.
...
A minute later, I arrived at a mall where an incredible amount of kobolds roam the surroundings. They were all branding their spears, so the word might've come out already about our presence.
Anyways, It should be obvious by now but the mall is their Lair. I don't know what the inside looks like but judging from its height. It should be four stories tall.
Damn, It was like a concert was currently happening inside due to their numbers. I can see some fellow students wandering around the building seemingly scouting the area too. You could see the fear and nervousness in their eyes, as they seem to fail to understand how to even beat this training at all.
But It was already obvious to me what step I should take next. The goal might be to kill the Kroligator, but offensive-wise, I don't have the hardware to kill that thing at all. As the Kroligator is the main objective, I'm guessing first place would be taken by whoever that kills it. There are 7 seats in the representative team, so I'm not gunning for first place.
I'll try to kill as many kobolds as possible without risking my life to the Inters, and other hostile guardians.
So with that being said, an old mall and probably 90% of the kobold population just resting inside.
A devious plan enters my mind, causing me to smirk uncontrollably.
Should I test the structural integrity of a hundred-year-old mall?
