Chapter 9 - Chapter 8: Sense

Looking at the rewards that I'd received, I couldn't help but feel unsatisfied. I was rewarded a good amount of money, and an apartment was made available for my living for a whole 5 years. There were also some discounts and a bunch of useful items that will make everyday living quite comfortable. I guess they kept the fact that I was a Wanderer in mind when they offered me these benefits. It's perfect for living a normal life for a good amount of years before I figure out what I should do and set my life straight.

But was I planning to live a normal life? It might sound crazy for a Wanderer to say, but I'm no Wanderer. I'm a transmigrator...

" The rewards might seem great and all, but I deem it quite right for the effort you did Mr. Mon. Despite being a Wanderer with no ability, you've managed to outwit a Grand Inter and kill it. Sure it might be fatigued but there's no civilian who could kill even the most fatigued Grand Inter there is. Heck, some Sense students don't even have that capability. " Ms. Ging reassures me in case I feel overwhelmed by the rewards.

" Oh, Sense is the biggest academy responsible for raising Guardian cadets. " The same person from Jaime's team added a follow-up, acting like a proper assistant again.

Sense, the center of the first few arcs of Earthly Guardian. Every single main character was introduced in Sense alongside many antagonists too. It was a battlefield.

" Ms. Ging, Can I request to change my rewards? " I say bluntly to the excited woman in front of me.

" What? Why… Are the rewards perhaps a little too low for your liking? If so we could increase them if you want to. " Ms. Ging's expression turned quite worried. Why? Probably because their branch, which is responsible for handling Wanderers, needed some work done if they wanted some more funding from the GRC. Therefore, I was blunt and confident when I asked for a reward change. I also have a decent amount of value from the GRC in regard that I took care of a problem they had. If I hadn't killed the lizard, they would have to pay all the people responsible for the lizard's elimination more.

Besides, Wanderers take the interest of many people. I was like a walking advertising machine if I received great help from Ms. Ging. The moment I was proven capable of living in society. My price went up as the interest is fresh and I was capable to appear in the media. That was why she seemed happy and excited more than me.

But they don't realize I know all of that so I can use this to my advantage.

" No.. no.. no.. They already seem quite generous Ms. Ging. They just don't grab my interest as of this moment" I reply trying to calm the erratic Ms. Ging.

" Then what would you like Mr. Mon? " She asked nervously probably embracing in case I make an unreasonable reward.

" I would like to enroll at Sense. " I say bluntly yet again. If my guess on the timeline is correct, the first year of the main characters of Earthly Guardian starts soon. That is the place I knew best. If I want to monopolize this knowledge I have, there's only one place I should go to.

" Hmm? " Ms. Ging stares at me dumbfoundedly.

I had a casual smile on my face like I didn't just spout something absurd.

...

" Wha- What?! " She exclaims trying to wonder if I wasn't sane and if she was wrong with her judgment.

" I'm perfectly sane Ms. Ging " I giggle and sit calmly to make her calm down as well.

" Then why does a powerless Wanderer wants to enroll at a Guardian school? " Even when her ability is activated, she was still questioning if I was actually telling the truth or not.

" I'm afraid for my future. " I reply casually.

" As a Wanderer, I don't think many jobs will accept me considering that Wanderers are known for having no memories. I don't think that's a good resume if I want to apply for a job. " It was just some facts. Wanderers of this world had a hard time adjusting to society that even sketchy jobs refuse to accept them in case they messed everything up.

The main character was the only Wanderer I know who actually managed to wake themselves up and participate in proper society. The rest were struggling and are still in need of help. The braves just died as they became powerless the moment they had become Wanderers.

" Besides, I don't think I'd be able to hide the fact that I was a Wanderer when I want to tell them about my story. " Of course, your advertising comes with that…

" Bu- But, how would you survive in that place? " She flinched at that phrase but she was still reluctant about it.

" And my second request comes in… " I say all while still having a casual smile on my face.

" I'm thinking of going under the medical sector of Sense for a bit. It's the only thing I can think of if I want some training for the future. " I say not giving Ms. Ging any time to refuse.

I also had to make an excuse to study at Sense. If I was just planning on going there without any plans to join anything that impacts my future, it'll all just be some obvious ruse to Ms. Ging. The medical sector didn't need much reliance on abilities anyways as long as you don't plan on being a doctor.

" Still… " Ms. Ging fell into deep thought as she tried to think of something else that incriminates my enrollment on Sense.

" The… The classes start in two days… " She says meekly.

Well, there was already a solution to that and Ms. Ging knows already.

" I'm sure they'll let me in right? I had killed a Grand Beast after all. I'm fully prepared to exchange all my rewards for this. "

It was only then that Ms. Ging looked defeated. She had announced that the monster I killed was in fact a Grand Inter to raise my worth, but it seems like that backfired as my worth rose quite a bit for her to simply reject me.

" Alright… I'll try to talk with the HQ about your request Mr. Mon. Rest some more as your injuries are still considered fresh. " The jeep I was in stopped and Ms. Ging entered a large truck following behind us. There were apparently communication types of equipment on that so she had to go there if she wants to talk to HQ.

Anyways, I gained a lot from that conversation. I also learned that I don't have much time to prepare as Sense or the first Arc of the story starts in two days…
