Haa...
Finally...
I stare at the pit of solid heavy pipes, praying to god it doesn't move a bit.
I couldn't see any parts or signs from the lizardman so I was still on edge about whether I finally was safe from this monstrosity or not.
Well, it's not like I have any other choice if it turns out he's alive. That's like a hundred tons or more of solid steel, so if it could lift that, I would've been dead regardless.
My arm is aching now that the adrenaline has run out. I'm all out of energy, so I could only pray if I want to get out safely.
one... two... five... thirty...
An entire minute passed and I still stared at the steel pit in caution.
...
I waited and waited. Seconds that felt like hours as I jump from even the slightest movement that catches my eyes.
...
Silence still filled the air.
...
Haaa...
It's been two minutes and there are still no signs of life.
Ok... I should calm down, there was no way that lizard is still alive even after all that. If it was capable of surviving that impact, I wouldn't have lived anyways.
It was only then that I felt relaxed so I fell on my seat and calmed down after what seemed to be hours of a deadly chase.
!
Shit... Now I can feel the exhaustion and pain my body is going through.
The hospital... or something...
Haa...
I'm fucking tired...
...
The immense fatigue I felt right at that moment was enough to make me unconscious. I was about to go to deep sleep when I suddenly hear voices ahead of me.
Was the lizard actually alive?
" The Li- "
...
There seem to be multiple voices shouting from where the lizard was buried. I couldn't gather what they were saying so I tried to fight the drowsiness I felt, in case I was in more danger.
" The Lizard is buried dead under these pipes! " The voice of a woman enters my ears.
A person?
" Oh shit... " My eyes had fully opened, but my eyesight was still blurry. I couldn't make sense of what was happening, but I know there were a group of people standing in front of me staring at me.
" We got a... We got a casualty! " A man shouts calling for what seems to be more people, as multiple guys came rushing at me from the road carrying bags and some random things I couldn't see.
" How did someone get here?! What are the border guards doing?!" A man with a deep voice grunts as he stands on top of the pit of pipes.
The people bust the crane open and they start carrying me out of it.
It was only when they moved me that a small burst of energy enters my body.
I didn't even know I still had that much in me, but I didn't complain as I could finally see who was on that site with me.
Medics... I remember that red cross everywhere I go...
" Call Sir Ferdin! We need his ability for this guy. " One of the medics shouted as they lay me down on the floor.
They look pretty cool for medics. They were wearing body armor giving me the idea that they were combatants.
You'd have to look at the other guys for you to realize they were just simple Medics. Those guys were wearing some insane-looking gear that it seems like they were a part of a film.
Their armguards had spikes growing on the sides. Armor plates were present in every part of their body it was honestly insanely cool.
" Where's the patient? " An old man approaches us wearing a simple lab coat, making him look like a stereotypical scientist.
" This young man right here sir... " A medic points at me answering the old man walking towards us.
!
" What?! " He suddenly exclaims as he notices me lying down on the floor.
" How- !... tsk " He seems like he had more to say but he just ran towards me crouching immediately as he reached us.
" How is someone here?! " He shouts out loud.
He was looking around my body, trying to look for wounds.
" Tsk.. This isn't the time. " He says as he holds out his hands aiming at my bruised arm.
As he did so, incredibly thin strands of strings escapes his palms entering through my skin. It felt tingly, but that was something I can ignore easily, after seeing strings escape a human's arm.
Though... I felt more relieved than shocked, as everything finally starts to make sense.
What I deemed as reality was all useless and the main question has finally been answered.
" Where am I mister? " I struggle to say.
" Hah, this kid really has the nerve. You're in Sector 10 kid. " He says as he looks at me with like he was looking at a dead man.
" Ah yes... "
...
" You enter a forbidden sector and you don't know what it even is?! " The old man looks at me as if I was some crazy young man trying to get myself killed.
" Wait... "
The old man looks at me confused, but only a second passed, and his expression turned from confused to shock.
" It's a Wanderer! " The medics around us suddenly exclaimed, holding their mouths in shock.
" How are you alive?! " They all exclaim in wonder...
" What...? "
They're looking at me like I was some miracle.
Wanderer? I've heard that before I'm sure of it...
" HAHAHA, you're an interesting one kid! " The same man with the deep voice suddenly laughs out loud as he stands on the pit of pipes.
" Seems like this guy wasn't all that lucky. " He says as he grabs multiple of the massive pipes in one arm and lifts it up off the ground.
" Seems like we got a proper guardian on our hands. " He grins as he points at the dead lizardman lying on the floor.
" As a wanderer, too... "
The shocked faces of the others only continued to rise.
But I was no better, as the moment certain words escaped his mouth, I couldn't help but question if this was just an everyday fantasy world.
Guardians... The protector of Terran.
Abilities... Unique traits of the people of Terran.
Wanderers... people with no memories appearing in obscure places in Terran...
It all points out to a single conclusion when you add all of this information together, I couldn't help but think if my theory is correct...
" Where am I, sir? " I ask the man who seems to be a leader carrying all the pipes.
" You're at Terran, Sector 10. Young Guardian Wanderer. " He says still smiling.
...
Terran... This...
This isn't your everyday fantasy world is it.
This is... Earthly Guardian
