"...this is ridiculous..."
Butaro walked from between the trees returning to the site of the destroyed temple.
He let off the rope he made by tying together a few vines and shook his head in disbelief.
Even after only taking a few steps into the jungle, the path became so obstructed, that without the security line finding the way back out would be a miracle.
The path with the footprint must have been a trap or something – either way, walking into the jungle without a proper plan was just asking to be lost!
"There's no way... without a stream or something that I could follow, I just walk around in circles until I die from thirst, hunger, or exhaustion!"
Butaro scoffed, massaging his stomach that kept growling the past few hours he was attempting to explore as much of the mysterious forest as possible – with very meager effect.
At that point, he felt like he might risk getting an upset stomach and actually eating the monster's crocodile tail.
"I can manage for a bit longer... might as well lay in wait to check whether whoever made this trail shows up."
The mountain of a boy decided – anything was better than wasting more energy on the futile exploration attempts that only drained his stamina.
…
Butaro hid in the bushes near the spot where the trail began and waited.
The time passed, the morning changed into noon and noon changed into afternoon and evening.
When he wanted, Butaro could be ridiculously patient – through all this time he merely sat down and waited, observing the point of interest.
He didn't have anything to drink, to begin with, and he lost a lot of water anyway, so he didn't have to take a break to take a leak. The only reason his stomach would cause him more trouble than it already was with constant rumbling would be if it started cramping from extreme hunger.
The mountainous boy was not aware of it, but just as before his fight with the crocodile monster, his eyes began glowing with pale pink light.
As Butaro was waiting, his senses sharpened – his own heartbeat and the growls of his stomach became almost deafening, and the rustling of the vegetation in the wind was as loud as a passing car.
The movement of shadows would catch his attention at first but after a while, he learned its pattern and would not jump up at the slightest change.
His nose was picking up the smells of the jungle.
The soil, the unknown plants, the slight breeze – all of that was so different from his own smell.
But even so, those improvements weren't immediately useful as nothing showed up.
No humans, no purple brute-looking elves, no other monsters – the jungle remained deadly silent.
The night had come and the darkness befell the world. Unknown constellations appeared in the sky and a moon much bigger and brighter than the one seen in the night sky of his old world illuminated the area, while two pink spots glaring at the same spot marked the location of the boy whose presence became indistinguishable from his surroundings in any other way.
The more time passed, the angrier Butaro was becoming.
Everything was that bitch of a goddess's fault!
She wanted to summon a human, but when she got Butaro, she threw him away in disgust, and now the innocent boy had to suffer like this!
Now that he had time to think about it, that bitch of a goddess was probably observing him and laughing her ass off seeing him struggle!.
"..."
The pink glow in Butaro's eyes became sharper as he gritted his teeth and clenched his fists on the handles of the demonic sword he had with him in case of a monster's ambush.
She wanted someone to save her world... that means it is precious to her... so that means that she will show up if someone will start messing with it on a big enough scale...|
Before he knew it, a sinister plan started brewing in the boy's head.
Abandoned, hungry, and in the darkness of the night... Butaro's mind began to wander and explore dark scenarios.
I was kidnapped, there's no room for discussion... and as such, I am fully in the right to do all in my might to get back my freedom. With that in mind, everyone who believes that bitch to be the righteous one is her accomplice. No better than a monster trying to kill me.|
Butaro's anger grew and his muscle began bulging out as his grip on the hilts became stronger and stronger.
Not just intelligent species... if it is her world, then everything she owns is her extension, and as such, can be destroyed as long as doing so will aid me in regaining my freedom|
The boy's eyes widened when he came to a realization that was so obvious that he couldn't believe he didn't realize it sooner.
"...why am I trying to find my way through like it is some sort of a puzzle game with rules that I must abide by...?"
Butaro muttered to himself and stood up, shaking off the nonexistent dust from his sweatpants.
It just so happened that the night have already passed and the sun was raising, showing up from behind the treetops, illuminating the imposing figure of the massive boy.
"I have a weapon that is so sharp it cut through the monster's hide and bones. I can simply cut my way through, hacking a path wide enough so it will be impossible for the vegetation to obstruct my view."
Butaro's face lighted up with a grim smile and looked at the blade of the demonic sword that glimmered pinkish as if in anticipation of the destruction that was about to happen.
In a few steps, he was already by the beginning of the trail – the sword raised in wind up before a swing...!
*SHING* *thunk*
The blade sang, pruning the bushes at their base, but stopped only halfway in the massive tree that was as wide as Butaro.
"HMPH!"
*SHING* *creaaaaaak* *rumble*
