The boy frowned, glaring at the tree with as much hatred as if it was the crocodile monster that tried to eat him before and put all of his strength into pushing the sword – causing the blade to slice all the way through and forcing the wood to let out a defeated screech as it toppled to the side, causing a small tremor as it hit the ground.
"It is not that hard~!"
Butaro's face twisted with an excited grin and he already wound up for another swing, this time aiming at the vegetation on the other side of the trail.
*SHING* *creaaaaak*
"!!!"
This time he put a lot more strength into the motion right from the start and the ridiculously sharp weapon cut through the tree around three-quarters of Butaro's width in one go – but because e of the angle of the cut, the whole thing had fallen right at the unprepared boy who merely manage to cover his head with one arm.
"GHHH...!"
His eyes burned pink as the weight of the entire tree leveraged on his side and forced him to kneel on the way to crush him.
"YOU...! FUKCING...!"
Butaro gritted his teeth and let out a furious growl, fighting against the ancient tree...
"HAAAAAAAAAA!"
*RUMBLE*
And with a roar – HE PUSHED IT AWAY – causing a slightly bigger tremor.
"Haaa.... haaa..."
Butaor straightened his back and wiped the sweat off his chin, glaring at the fallen tree as if it was some noteworthy opponent.
"I can't just swing the sword all willy nilly or I will get myself killed. Noted."
He scoffed with a short nod and moved the arm that he pushed the treetrunk aside to check whether it was still usable.
"Hmph. What a terrible tutorial on how to use a sword properly~"
Butaro snickered, changing the grip on the two hilts and already looking at the next tree and taking a step forward.
He wanted to preserve as much energy as possible, not wasting any more stamina than necessary - so he focused on making his movement as mall as possible.
Just to be sure that the path will not close on him on its own, he wanted to make the trees fall in such a way that they would create a contained pathway between them – so he concentrated on being as precise as possible.
Despite having his mind occupied, he was still getting hungrier and more thirsty – so he did his best to be as fast as possible, speeding up the process of finding drinkable water or a source of food.
After cutting trees to his sides, Butaro always made sure to look back and check whether the path he made would remain open and only then proceed to continue progressing inwards.
As he did, he kept trying to follow the trail – fake or not, even an off chance of it leading to an actually useful place was better than just blindly pushing through the unknown jungle.
That's how Butaro spent his second day in a different world.
And then the third one...
...and the fourth to seventh one...
He became unable to sleep and would spend the nights listening in to the slightest noise of anything resembling another living being – all to naught...
And yet he kept pushing forward through the jungle like an armored bulldozer with a vengeance.
"YOU FUCKING BITCH! ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?! DO YOU GET OFF ON WATCHING ME SUFFER?!"
At the dawn of the eighth day, going half-mad from thirst, hunger, and exhaustion, Butaro with his eyes burning bright pink roared, pointing the demonic sword towards the heavens before madly hacking at the trees that got many times thicker than him and required multiple hits to fall under his blade.
*SHING* *SHING**SHING* *SHING* *SHING* *SHING* *SHING* *SHING* *SHING* *SHING* *SHING* *creaaaaaaak*
The jungle had no animals and no fruits – at one point between the fifth and sixth day Butaro tried to eat random plants or at least suck the moisture out of them, but that only made him throw up, so he gave up after a couple of tries.
"HAAAAAAA!"
*WHAM*
The titanic tree that he cut through began falling right on top of him, but with a furious growl the enormous boy who somehow didn't lose any of his impressive widths, kicked at It, forcing the tree to topple the other way.
*SLAM*
" WHAT THE...?! GU-HIAGH!"
*SPLAT* *RUMBLE*
"...!"
But as the tree the width of a truck fell, this time it made a completely different noise than before – actually, judging the sound, something alive was crushed by it, causing Butaro to freeze with
his eyes widened in disbelief.
"!!!"
His throat was too dry to have any saliva left, but even so, after gulping down nothing, Butaro rushed to the fallen tree in search of the unfortunate creature that found itself under it.
"What in the...?! That's...! That's one of the ugly elves from my dreams!"
Butaro who climbed on top of the fallen tree in order to be able to check both sides at the same time gasped at the sight of the blue splatter and exclaimed in the show as upon jumping down he found the corpse of a purple humanoid.
Well, the upper half of the purple humanoid with its eyes bulging out and the entrails bursting from its mouth as a result of its lower half being crushed by the gigantic tree.
"Ah...!"
After initial disgust, Butaro noticed a leather bag that the purple elf had to drop right before death, and let out a gasp while reaching to it and shaking out all of its content.
He immediately dismissed a bundle of sting and a small knife, pushing it to the side, and focusing all of his attention on the dry brownish sticks that carried a faint smell of smoke, and a primitive canteen.
Barely able to control himself, Butaro opened the canteen and turned it upside down over his mouth after barely taking a whiff of the contents – it was enough that he smelled moisture, that's all he needed to drink whatever the content was.
