Chereads / My Wife's Revenge / Chapter 14 - Longing

Chapter 14 - Longing

Cedrick's Point of view

It was as if my heart was breaking as I stared at Ena's gentle face.  I groaned in pain.

I never protected her; I didn't save her.  I did nothing to keep her alive.

I looked to my side when I felt someone hug my legs.  I saw my two twin children.  Their faces were filled with tears.

I looked again at my wife's cabin, where she was lying, wearing a white dress.

Today is the day of her funeral.

I went to the front of her cabin while holding a flower.  My twin followed me.

When I threw away the three red roses I was holding, they slowly lowered Ena's cabin underground.

"Please forgive me, sweetie.  I did not save you; I didn't protect you.  I'm sorry for everything I did for you.  Forgive me; I have done nothing to save you the time you need me.  I love you so much, sweetie.  I don't know if I can still live without you..." I whispered at the back of my mind, and my heart skipped for a moment.

"You are my only life, sweetie.  I can't accept that you don't exist anymore.  Why did all this happen?  Why are you still lost in my life?  Why?  Why did you leave me this early?  Sweetie..." I sniffed as I continued whispering.

"I will never forget you...you will remain in my heart.  You are the only one here... you're the only one, it is shouting and looking for.  So how is it, if you don't have it anymore?

I love you, sweetie.  Please stay by my side.  Don't leave me, please..."

My tears flowed again for my beloved Ena.

How do I live now without her?  How do I breathe now, without her?  Should I escape from this?

I just hugged the two twins as Ena's cabin slowly descended to the ground.

I let my head up.  I see the sky forming shapes from it.  It was a sunny day, the opposite of how I felt. My heart was gloomy, as how my world was without my wife.

"What the f * uck!"  Diego and David lit up when they saw me stumbling on the couch while crying.

Many wine bottles were scattered on the floor; I laughed when I heard what they said and saw their reaction.

"Haha! No, she will come! She will come for me..." I said in my waves of laughter, but because my intoxication knocked me down suddenly. I laughed again with sadness.

"Bro! What! How long will you be like that? It's been six months! Accept that your wife is gone!"  Diego suddenly shouted at me.

I abruptly stopped laughing because of what he said.  I felt someone hammered in my heart who made my heart break into pieces.

"Y-you. Y-you're just saying that because your wife is still there. S-she is still alive... ugh... but me? What? Ha ?! She is not here anymore... ugh..s-sweetie! M-my wife is gone! "

I stood up and pointed my finger at them.  My two eyes glazed over as I stared at the two of them.

"Y-you have no right to tell me to accept all that happened! Ugh! Because y-you are not in my position! Y-you are not the one whose wife has died!"

Unexpectedly, I was lying on the floor when I was hit by a powerful punch from David as well as Diego.

Diego immediately approached me on the floor and directly threatened me as he looked at me angrily.

"Bro, please imagine that you have two more children who love you. Please don't forget that we are still here, always by your side. Please do not ignore us.  Will Ena be happy with what you are doing now? From what she sees in you now? "  He asked, annoyed by his evil gaze on me.

"No, she won't be happy with what you are doing to yourself now. Ena will not be even happier if you continue to get drunk. Because of that, you forgot that you still have a twin waiting for you. They are waiting for your return. Do you understand?" Deigo said at the same time he let go of me, irritated.

I was just dumbfounded by everything he said.  Perhaps, all of that is true.  I forget all of those things.

I just moaned and was smashed on the couch in front of me.

"I hope you wake up to this fact."  David's last litany before he left with Diego.

Should I accept that my wife is really gone?

"It's good that you thought of changing, no? I thought you would be enslaved forever with Ena's death."  Medel immediately commented when she saw me in my wife's boutique.  I was sitting in the swivel chair, which was in sweetie's office before.

I looked up at her.  Then I spoke.  "Thank you for your husband and David punching me. Otherwise, I would not have woken up to the truth."

"Ha! It's good that my husband punched you if Kersten and I was there. You also got some punches from us," she said proudly as she sat on the sofa near my seat.

"Is that all you came here for?"  I said impatiently as I looked at her.

"Diego and I want to tell you something, but he's not here yet. So, wait there," Medel said once, winking at me.

I just shook my head.  What is this woman?

"Why did you become friends with Ena?"

She was shocked by my question.  She's crazy.

"Now you just asked me? The duration ha!"  she exclaimed while annoyed to fall on the sofa.

"I just thought about it now."  I shrugged my shoulders in response to her.

"Of course, Ena was ... so she became my friend. And besides ..." She was suddenly stunned.

I looked at her.  I took a deep breath.  I remember her again. My wife. Suddenly I stood up to hold back my tears.

"I miss her. I miss her..." I whispered in the air.  It looks like Medel heard that, so she spoke.

"I miss her too." Her voice was full of sadness, deep down the sea.

Whatever it is, I couldn't hold back my tears.  It dripped along with the destruction of my heart again.

I miss you, sweetie. I miss you, my wife. I love you so much.
