Xinith scoffed, clearly displeased. Without another word, he let go of me. He stepped back once, then twice, and then thrice. He sat down on the side of the bathtub, not taking his eyes off of me for even a second. My left eye twitched in irritation.

"Are you not leaving this time?" I asked as I squatted down to grab my hairbrush, keeping an eye on him as I still did not trust him.

"Why should I? You're dressed now, aren't you?" He responded with an air of arrogance, placing his hands on the tub as he leaned back a little as if to get a better view.

"Have you never heard of PRIVACY???" I seethed through gritted teeth, standing back up, clenching my brush. I continued brushing through my hair but at a quick pace.

"I don't think I need to worry about anything like privacy when it comes to you. After all, we're going to be living together and sleeping together," he paused before a quiet eery chuckle left his lips, "You can't avoid me forever, Alex."

"SL-…," my eyes widened as I momentarily forgot how to speak but not for long. "SLEEPING TOGETHER?! Tch… In your dreams! We may be sleeping in the same ROOM, but we are not and will not ever sleep TOGETHER."

I can't believe this guy! What a frickin' sleaze bag! Does he think I'm such an easy catch that I'd just open my legs for anyone?! To hell with that! I ought to neuter this damn demon in his sleep!

"Well, don't you have a colorful choice of words.~" Xinith looked slightly amused, tilting his head to the side ever so slightly.

Son of a- I forgot he knows what I'm thinking… So much for that plan.

"I said, stop reading my thoughts! BUG OFF!" I shouted a little too loudly and chucked my hairbrush at him. However, instead of hitting him dead-on, it collided with the wall instead because he decided to magically 'poof' out again. I stomped my foot in anger, punching the air in frustration, "Next time, you won't get away so easily!"

"I think I like this side of you, Alex. It's much more entertaining," Xinith mused, knocking on the mirror to get my attention. "Oh, and just so we're clear, we WILL be sleeping together at some point. Give it time; you'll come to me all on your own. Until then, I'll keep pursuing you. I do love a good chase, and you are definitely the perfect mate for-…"

"Why YOU-…!" I immediately cut him off, sick of listening to him. I looked around the bathroom in my anger and saw nothing else helpful but my hairbrush; I quickly went to retrieve it and then spun on my heel. With the handle of my heavy-duty brush aimed at the mirror, I threw it like a harpoon. I watched as Xinith's eyes grew a bit as the hairbrush flew through the air and pierced the mirror dead-center, causing it to spiderweb crack. I straightened myself, smirking with pride, not even thinking of the consequences of my actions. "Heh~ Bullseye."

The pressure in the bathroom suddenly began to increase, and the lights started to flicker. I didn't need anyone to tell me that I clearly pissed Xinith off. I opened the bathroom door and bolted toward the dorm door, forgetting that I hadn't put my hair up. I just did not want to stick around and find out what Xinith might do. I had sprinted so fast, though, that I accidentally ran into Blake.

Thankfully, he had quick response timing as he stopped me the moment I bumped into him so that we both wouldn't fall to the ground. One could only imagine what was going through his head when he stared at me quizzically, probably wondering why I had sprinted. It was also at that moment, though, that I realized his hands were icy as they held my arms to keep me upright.

That's kind of weird. I don't remember Blake's hands feeling cold before. Maybe it's because it was super warm outside?

Suddenly, Blake's expression changed to an indifferent one that was hard to read. His gaze had gone beyond me, and as soon as I turned to look behind me, Blake put one protective arm around my shoulders and pulled me against his side. Xinith was standing there, facing us both, his eyes silver once more. Xinith and Blake were having a stare-down, just like in those old cowboy western movies. My gaze silently wandered back and forth between the two, unsure why each looked like they wanted to throw a punch at the other. The silence was suffocating, and I was just about to open my mouth to break the tension when someone else spoke up first.

"Xinith," Blake said flatly.

"Blake," Xinith replied in just as a monotonous tone.

They may have only said each other's names, but I feel like just that one word had much more meaning behind it. It appears they know each other, and there is something they definitely know that I am not aware of. I'm not a fan of being left in the dark about information, but I'm also not a fan of toxic masculinity. Whatever I just want to get out of here for now. -and I can't believe that asshole really disappeared to avoid a hairbrush! What a coward.

No sooner had I finished my thought that Xinith's gaze fell on me, his eyes narrowing. I was also pretty sure that I saw his eyes glow. Knowing that couldn't possibly mean anything good, I nudged Blake in hopes that he would get the hint. Instead, Blake just continued to stare at Xinith. I pleaded for my stomach to growl, and to my surprise, it did, very audibly.

"I am SO hungry," I drawled out, putting a hand to my abdomen to show just how hungry I was. Finally, Blake got the hint and turned to the door, opened it, and gently pushed me out first before he followed, closing the door behind him.

"Sorry about that," Blake offered a smile, starting to lead me down the hall toward the elevator.

"Yeahhh," I started, dragging out the last syllable, "What exactly was that tension all about? Do you two have beef with each other or something?"

"Uhm…," Blake sighed, scratching the back of his neck as we waited for the elevator, which surprisingly arrived very quickly. "It's a long story. I wouldn't want to bore you."

"Well," I began with a mischievous sparkle in my eye as we stepped into the elevator. "Good thing we have plenty of time on our hands," I finished as the doors shut.
