Aramis stared in front of the buffet table, his head empty and dumbfounded. He wasn't dense enough to understand what the princess was trying to say. In fact, he wanted to stay there and hear her, but he couldn't. He just couldn't.
He shook his head to brush off his thoughts and began to fill his tray with food and drinks. He immediately headed outside of the grand hall and strode along the busy courtyard, his mind drifting away.
'Always remember rule number one, Aramis.'
'Aramis, I noticed your closeness with Princess Aurnia, and I won't deny that I fear for you, my son. King Andruche chose you to become the princess' confidant because he trusted me. I don't want you to end up hurting and disappointed.'
'Oh Lord, why don't you just tell her right away how you truly feel about her? Both of you were just so stubborn.'
