Ian's eyes bulged out of their socket as he saw this new information. The last stat he was given was the most disturbing thing he had ever seen in his entire life. It was literally telling him how long he would live, and from what he can see, not long at all.
"What's wrong with this system?" he complained. "Why isn't there a single good thing about it? First, it was a book that almost killed me, and now a system that's prediction my death. This is just too much."
A ding signifying another notification sounded in his head and the bell icon appeared, but he was reluctant to check it this time.
"What if this time it tells me that one of my organs has stopped working?" He thought. "Or that I am gonna go blind in a few seconds."
The anxiety made him check either way since he wanted to at least be warned first.

[Daily Quest: 1 hour of meditation(0/60mins).]
[Reward: 5 exp]
"Huh?" he asked. "I can gain exp? What happens if I get that?"
Ian has lived a lonely life from the age of ten and barely had enough money for himself growing up, so he, unlike most other kids his age has never played a game once in his life. Neither has he been told about it because he had no friends.
[Quest Update: Find out more about exp and it's function.]
[Reward: 5exp]
"You...," he said annoyed. "What on Earth is this trend of giving me a quest to answer my own questions?!"
He sighed after a few seconds as he decided that he had no choice. The system isn't going to give him any answers and he was sick of asking for them also. If the system wants him to find his answers himself, that's exactly what he would do.
He made his way out of the bathroom, deciding to do his daily quest first since he had nothing better to do anyway.
He decided to start with the push-ups first. He did one, two, three...., four....., f..ive... At the fifth, he collapsed on the ground as he could barely move anymore and his head was beginning to spin.
"Pathetic," he hissed. "All I could manage was five push-ups. Only five!"
He picked himself off the ground again. "This is no time to lament," he thought. "I'll just do the best I can."
He decided to do the sit-ups next and he could also only manage five sit-ups. It was the same for the squats.
He decided to give it a rest and complete the rest of his quest later in the evening, dividing the workout. He went off to the fridge and took out a one-litre bottle which he drank in one go.
*Ding*
[Complete the daily quest within thirty minutes of starting it or reward would not be given. Continue after hydrating. (15/30mins)]
"What the hell!" he yelled as he could almost feel tears in his eyes. "That's just too much!"
His hands were already shaky from the few he did and the system was forcing him to complete it within an ultimatum. He felt like the system was asking too much of him.
Still staring at the notification, he could see that one minute was already deducted. He hurriedly went back to doing the workout and with great difficulty completed each of them, with barely a minute to spare. He hurriedly made his way to the fridge and chugged down another litre of water to complete the quest.

"This reward had better be worth it," he thought as he laid on the floor breathless. His body felt like jelly but he knew he wasn't done yet. He still had the meditation quest.
He crawled over to his bed where he had privacy and sat in the lotus position on his bed as he closed his eyes. He has seen people meditating before and he doesn't know what to think about it since he never tried, but he hoped that it would at least have a meaning to him.
He sat there in silence with his eyes closed, legs crossed and back straight as he meditated. His body still shook from the workout but he did his best to endure it.
For the next hour that he sat there, he felt nothing, but by the time he heard the ding to notify him of the quest's end, he realized that his sore muscles from the workout felt better than they did an hour ago and he felt a lot more relaxed.
[Daily quest completed. 5exp has been awarded.]
"Status," he thought and his status came up immediately.

"Seeing this is kinda depressing," he thought.
He sighed as he made his way to the bathroom to get a well-deserved warm bath. He soaked himself thoroughly in the tub for a while before deciding it was time to leave the bathroom. His muscles were thoroughly relaxed by now and he felt refreshed.
Checking his closet for his clothes, he wondered who helped him keep his clothes in his closet. From the looks of it, the same person kept the book beside him on the bed. He knows he should be grateful to the person but he can't help but curse the person for all the trouble he has had to go through because of their intended help. It annoyed him even more that the person would be where he was thinking he did a good deed.
He sighed after a while of cursing in his head. "I shouldn't be blaming anyone for my misfortune. It's always been this way so I'm not exactly surprised."
He put on his clothes, a white T-shirt and black pants, along with his only decent pair of boots. He didn't want to use the school's boots just yet when they didn't have classes. He also took a band for his hair which he just put around his free wrist.
"Okay," he breathed. "Time to go find some answers."
