She nodded and asked,
"So you heard us?"
"Yeah." I said and smiled at her.
"Hmmm. Interesting." She said and drank the remaining water in the glass.
"Yeah. Very I interesting." I said and smiled at her.
"Let me go fetch the boys." She said and entered the room Hale and J.J are in.
I sighed and picked up my two phones. I haven't shown Lizzy the new phone.
I will give the new one to Genevieve when we find her.
But, I want us to find Raymond first. He will be very useful to use.
In fact,he is more useful right now, but that does not mean that Genevieve is not useful too.
They are the least suspicious, right now.
I walked into the living room and sat down at the place I slept in earlier.
"Here are the boys." Lizzy said, as she led Hale and J.J back to the living room.
"Welcome back boys. Hope you enjoyed yourselves?" I asked and smiled at them.
"Yeah, we did." Hale replied and smiled back at me.
"Thanks for sending us away." He added and sat beside me.
"Hale?" I called out.
"Yeah." He replied.
"Where is your t.v remote?" I asked, as I scanned the room in search of the t.v remote.
The three of them burst out laughing at me.
"What?" I asked.
"What's funny?" I asked again,as I was confused, I do not know what was funny.
"It's a voice command t.v." Hale and Lizzy said in unison.
"Did you become wealthier by laughing at me?" I said angrily. I was disappointed in them, especially Lizzy.
"You should have just told me, instead of laughing at me." I said and stood up, about walking out of the room, when the t.v came on.
"Channel sixteen." Hale said.
"Hello, good evening viewers, this is thirty minutes of hot news. The missing corpse girl is yet to return home, back to her family." The newscaster said.
I stopped walking, turned and returned back to where I was sitting before.
"There have been different speculations from different scientists around the globe, some said she has died again and must be decomposing somewhere, some say that she is alive and had made herself invisible. The newscaster added.
She continued,
"Others think that she is alive and is probably hiding somewhere arranged by her family. Some people believe that she is already with the scientists and they are keeping the truth from the public."
"Let's move to the second hot news,the missing corpse girl's long time best friend, Elizabeth Diana Micheal is still on the run and her boyfriend has secretly left the country to pro….."
"Switch off." Hale shouted and the t.v went off.
"Fuck." I screamed, as a cold ran down my spine.
"Is that the best they can do?" I asked, but was not asking anyone in particular.
Everyone was silent.
"Am sorry guys, for putting you into this…" Lizzy didn't allow me to complete my sentence when she said.
"Shhh. We got you to the end. I will always be by your side."
"Me too." Hale said.
"Me three, I guess I will be on tv too soon." J.J said as we all busted out laughing.
"Trust me, you will be the most popular and be tagged as the missing corpse girl suspected lover or boyfriend." I said and laughed again.
"Jokes apart guys, what do we do now?" Lizzy asked.
"I do not know. Am fucking confuse." I said and looked down.
Am the reason these people are suffering?
I hate myself for this.
"Things will definitely become tougher than this, we have to prepare for the worst." J.J said.
"Eunice and I planned on going in search of Raymond and Genevieve." Lizzy told Hale.
"Are we expecting two more companies?" J.J asked and I nodded in response.
"Raymond sounds good,but what does Genevieve have to do with us?" Hale asked.
"She was going to be my personal maid." I told him.
"Personal maid?" Hale asked me and I nodded in response.
"But, I thought you don't like that idea." Hale said.
"Yeah, I don't used to,but now I like the idea." I said to him,
Hale and Lizzy were sitting opposite me and J.J.
"She said she wants to stop working for her agency and I offered her to work for me, she accepted." I explained to them.
"We agreed that she resumed work, one week after." I added.
Lizzy looked at me suspiciously and asked,
"When was the last time you saw her?"
I wanted to lie, but she is my best friend. I do not want to hurt Genevieve too, that's why I have avoided mentioning her.
"She was the last person I saw that day." I replied to Lizzy
"Did she push you?" Lizzy asked and I shook my head in response.
"Are you sure?" She asked again for confirmation.
"Yes, I am sure." I said and nodded.
"I lost my balance and fell." I added.
"How come she was not on the scene?" She asked, as she placed her hand on her jaw.
"I think she got scared and ran away." I said.
"No one will want to get accused wrongly." I added and shrugged.
"If you say so." She said and shrugged.
"That means that she is the person that called the ambulance." She added and returned her hand to her jaw.
"I guess so too." I said.
"So, who do you prefer we go in search of first tomorrow?" Hale asked.
"I would have preferred Genevieve, because I have a lot of questions to ask her." I replied.
"But let's search for Raymond first." I added.
"Why?" Hale asked.
"Lizzy understands, she will tell you later, right Lizzy?" I asked.
"Yeah, sure." Lizzy replied with a grin.
"I am so lost,but I hope I will like the newbies." J.J said and grinned.
"You are the newbie here." I said and giggled.
"Or should I say rookie?" I asked, mockingly.
"I agree with you." Hale said.
"You will like them, do not worry." I said to him,
"Yeah, I trust you." He said and smiled.
I suddenly became a bit bothered, what if he likes Genevieve instead of me. I want him to like me and not Genevieve.
And after that, no one else said anything. Everywhere became quiet.
"Eunice, come on, let me show you the room I specially arranged for you."Lizzy said,as she stood up and pulled me along.
I stood up and followed her. She wanted to tell me something else. I think she does not want J.J to know about it,so she has to use showing me a room as an excuse.
We entered a room and she then showed me a chair to sit on, which I did.
She sat beside me and said,
"I do not want Raymond and Genevieve to join us,they are better off without us."
"Why?" I asked,as I was a bit confused with her suggestion.
"They will cause more trouble." She replied.
"How?" I asked,as I became more confused.
"Let me start with Genevieve first." She replied.
"Remember, she does not know that you like J.J. I am very sure that she does not even know how much J.J means to you." She added.
"That's true,but still the police might come after her too." I said to her,
"That's true, but you can't save everyone." She cautioned me.
"I want to save as many people as possible." I said to her,
"Okay,if you say so." She said to me and rolled her eyes.
"So, what do you have to say about Raymond?" I asked her.
"It involves J.J too. It seems J.J has started to like you. You are also aware that you almost got betrothed to Raymond." She replied.
"They will become rivals and maybe enemies which may cause a fight." She added.
"So, what are you trying to say?" I asked her, curiously.
"What I am trying to say is that you and Genevieve will become rivals for J.J, while J.J and Raymond will become rivals for you." Lizzy explained to me.
I thought about what she just said for a few seconds and saw that she was telling the truth.
We all have to keep our differences aside and work as a team, that's all that matters for now.
We can talk about our differences when this mess is over.
"I get your point, Lizzy, but still, we have to do the right thing." I said to her,
"Yeah, I know." She said and faced down.
"Cheer up, with you guys by my side, everything is possible. We shall overcome this together. I started this mess, I shall end it." I said,as I reached for her hand and held it.
"Let me give you a tip." She said,as she raised up her head to look me in the eyes.
" Try to make her know that you like J.J without telling her." She added.
"How is that even possible?" I asked her.
"It is very simple to do." She replied.
"Let your actions speak for you. You know, actions speak louder than words." She added and laughed softly.
"And how the fuck do I do all those?" I asked, curiously.
"I just told you and I do not mind telling you again,let your actions speak louder than your words." She said,
"Okay, give me an example." I said to her,
"Like talking to him,you know, try getting closer to him than her to make her jealous." She instructed me.
I nodded and said,
"Okay, noted." I shrugged.
"Do not worry, I have got you." She said,as she gently squeezed my palm, smiling at me.
"I will tell you what to do and give you signs when I can't talk, okay?" She added, smiling even more.
"Okay." I replied and smiled back at her.
I stood up and started to walk around the room.
"Where will Lizzy and Raymond stay when they finally join us?" I asked Lizzy, curiously.
"You will have to share this room with Lizzy, while Raymond will stay with J.J. This house has only three rooms." Lizzy replied.
"That's fair enough. That also means that we have to stock up on things, because things will get tougher." I explained to Lizzy.
"Yeah, that's true,but we have more than enough for everyone for now. We will need restocking from next month." She said to me,
"Don't worry,we are here for you." She said as she stood up and walked up to me and gave me a warm embrace.
I hugged her back and then separated us, I just remembered something that would be of interest to her.
"I have something else to tell you."I said to her
"Go on." She said,
"Am all ears." She added, as she sat down on the bed in the room, my new room.
"Do you remember that old house we found in the woods that is at the back of our church?" I asked her excitedly.
"Yes I do." She answered.
"What about it?" She asked.
"Guess who built it?" I asked her.
"Our forefathers?" She asked and laughed softly.
"No, sorry to say it was mine and Sarahs." I replied to her.
"Who's Sarah?" She asked confusedly.
"That little girl at the party, princess Sarah." I tried reminding her.
"Oh, I remember now." She said and giggled.
"It was her grandfather and my grandfather that built it together." I said to her,
"Wow. Really?" She asked.
I nodded and said,
"Princess Sarah's grandfather is a taxi driver, he was the one that took me to the hotel I lounged in before going to the old house."
"Wow, what a coincidence." She replied, while laughing.
"Come on,let's go back to the boys." I said to Lizzy,as I pulled her along.
