Chapter 34: Level 10!
Roar! Roar!
The two werewolves roared and charged at Aakesh while the other seven wolves followed their lead.
Aakesh could feel a hint of danger from the werewolves, so he attacked them.
The sword in Aakesh's hand danced as it attempted to cut the werewolf into two, but the opponent seemed to be ready as it had a weapon of its own.
A blade made of a wolf's fang came to stop the blade, creating a clanging sound.
Aakesh had trained in his practice for this situation, so he skillfully defeated the opponent and landed a hit. At that time, the second werewolf had reached Aakesh, and it was about to rip his head off.
Aakesh seemed to be prepared for it as a knife came, piercing through the opponent's throat.
Howl!
At the same time, a howling sound rose in the area, stopping all seven wolves in their tracks. They couldn't help but grow confused as the wolf howled and asked them for help.
Roar!
The werewolf roared to clear the illusion in the wolves' minds, but that time was enough to give Aakesh the upper hand in the battle. The blade swung in all its glory, cutting through the opponent's skin as if it were facing butter.
The blade's sharpness and Aakesh's overwhelming strength seemed to fuse as the sword didn't stop and cut the werewolf's head.
The other werewolf roared in rage as its movement became chaotic, and it pounced at Aakesh. Its eyes had turned red, while its sharp canine teeth were flowing silver.
Aakesh felt a chill emanating from its teeth, and he didn't dare to be careless.
Howl!
Aakesh's fortune seemed to be great in this round as the knife whistled once again, stopping the wolves from taking advantage of the battle between Aakesh and the werewolf.
An ice wall began to cover the knife from the point where it hit the opponent's teeth. In no time, cracks began to emerge, but it had done what Aakesh had expected of it.
The next moment, a dark, shadowy light covered his sword as he slashed it at the opponent's head.
Aakesh suddenly felt a slight pain as the opponent's claw grazed his skin, but everything stopped there, and the headless wolf crashed to the ground, exploding into the light like its partner.
After the two werewolves' deaths, it was easy for Aakesh, and in a few minutes, only Aakesh was left in the area, gasping for breath.
Aakesh's face was pale, and the skin on his right hand had become purple. Aakesh couldn't help but take support from the wall to stand. Aakesh understood that the werewolves' claws contained poison.
Aakesh had prepared for such a situation since he had money. Before coming to the dungeon, he had bought potions.
The next moment, Aakesh took out a potion from his bag. It was a blue liquid. Aakesh uncorked the bottle, and the next moment, a dreadful smell permeated his nose.
Aakesh crunched his nose and poured the bottle's content into his mouth in a single breath. It was a basic antidote potion to help detoxify the poison.
Since Aakesh's opponent was only Level 11, the poison's potency wasn't enough.
At the same time, Aakesh took out another green bottle from his bag and also poured all its contents into his mouth. It was a healing potion.
The next moment, his wound closed on its own, and soon not even its marks were left.
Aakesh wasn't frugal with his purchases since he knew the dungeon was going to be difficult.
Color returned to Aakesh's face while the exhaustion disappeared, so he stepped forward and picked up his loot.
The two werewolves rewarded Aakesh with five silver coins each, while the three Level 10 wolves gave him a total of two hundred bronze coins.
Time flew by, and soon Aakesh reached the end of his pathway.
A heavy pressure lingered in the air above him as he stood before a closed, gigantic gate. Aakesh felt that even if someone four times his height were to pass through the gate, there would be no problem.
The smell of blood had grown in intensity, and there were several cracks present across the wall.
Killing for so long at least made Aakesh slightly accustomed to the smell of blood. Aakesh took a deep breath and stepped forward with the Shadow Blade in his right hand. The Fang's Knife had broken down due to repeated battles, but since it had helped Aakesh greatly, Aakesh was content with it.
Aakesh only touched the gate, and it opened with a loud sound as if it hadn't been opened for several years.
Aakesh couldn't help but crunch his nose as an intense blood smell pervaded his nose. Aakesh frowned in disgust and anger when he saw the scene in front of him.
In front of him stood an altar the size of his house. It was circular in shape, with two pillars at its edges that supported a roof. Eleven humans were tied to the roof of the altar, each with an injury that caused a drop of blood to fall into the pool of blood below. The scene was gruesome and disturbing, to say the least.
And in that pool of blood, a werewolf three times his size was relaxing. As Aakesh entered the room, it stood up and stared at Aakesh.
Even though Aakesh was angry, he didn't lose his calm. Fighting so many battles had at least made him consider the situation around him before reacting. Aakesh didn't want to lose himself in the same way again after what had happened to him during the battle with the wolf in his first quest.
The werewolf became the first attacker as it pounced at Aakesh from the altar's center.
Aakesh skillfully dodged the attack, but the opponent was already ready with its second attack.
The werewolf's frustration grew as it failed to hit Aakesh even once. Suddenly, the silhouette of a moon emerged at the top of the altar, draining one-fourth of the blood stored in the pool.
The werewolf's movement seemed to get quicker and stronger. Aakesh also used the skill, Shadow Strike to counter the opponent. Both opponents clashed and got knocked back.
The next moment, Aakesh unleashed the Thundering Strike, forcing the werewolf to exhaust one-third of the remaining blood as a gray shield covered it, stopping Aakesh's attack.
Time flew by, and Aakesh began to get the upper hand in the battle.
Aakesh unleashed another Thundering Strike, but the opponent had no blood left in the pool to use another skill, so the skill cut it in half, making Aakesh victorious.
