I was waiting at the police station anxiously on Wednesday evening. The lawyers were busy with the Sheriff going over the documents and papers.
They managed to get bail for dad, and I couldn't explain how happy I was! But what bothered me was the bail amount that Devon had to pay.
When Sheriff gave me the number, my head spun thinking about how I was going to manage that much money. It would have taken me more than a week to sell a few things that belonged to me.
But I also didn't want dad to spend even one more night behind the bars. And that left me with no other choice than call Devon.
He was busy in some important meeting, yet he picked up my call. He didn't sound irritated or angry when he received my cal.
When I asked for help, he just said- it will be done! Don't worry. I will call you after I get free.
I stared at my phone for a whole minute. Did he agree to pay money without batting his lashes?
