DEVON
I was pretty disturbed after Elena left like that. But the most concerning part was my emotions. One minute I hated her, wanted to destroy her, teach her a lesson by giving the bitter taste of her own medicine.
And the other minute all I wanted to do was just pull her in my arms and kiss her senseless, just like that night in France.
"May I sit here?"
Christine's soft voice made me look up at her. I glanced behind the table where the food was still untouched and now cold.
"Your night got ruined. I didn't know Sheriff would convince her so easily."
She sat beside me and passed me the cup of coffee with a small smile. "That's fine! You will have the food for lunch tomorrow anyways."
I remained silent and sipped the coffee. That was what I needed the most at that time.
"Has she agreed?" Christine asked.
"Not yet," I said, holding the hot cup between both of my palms. "But she will. I will force her to agree."
"Why are you doing this?"
