My head hurt as I listened to Steve. Again there was Victor Sanders hurting people, but this time, it was brutal. Did he murder someone?
"Watch your fucking mouth!" Devon growled from behind me, his body taut with tension. "I don't know where the fuck you learned that but I know my dad very well! He CANNOT kill anyone!"
Steve's face hardened with more anger. "Where I learned that? I didn't need to learn that because I saw it with my own eyes!" He yelled, his chest heaving up and down as he breathed hard.
My heart broke at the sight of him. He was like my younger brother, my friend, someone I trusted. But he betrayed me, every one of us but for what?
"Steve, p-please calm down, Steve! I... I am sure there is some misunderstanding. Please! L-let's talk first, okay?" I tried bravely, but it only agitated Steve even more.
"There is nothing to talk about, Elena! I was hiding right behind that door." He pointed at one of the two doors in the room.
